The North has been the target of Justosian overtures in the past and sees the new events taking place between your peoples and the Justosian hermits as worrisome for the stability of Gallo-Germanian peace. Although our government certainly is not worried in the least about a Justosian military action against our peoples (as we are the northern-most nation of the world, whereas Justosia is the southernmost), we note the presence of the Occitanian ally state on your border with some consternation.

A public alignment of our nations may jeopardize certain international relations considering the positions of our two governments relative to eachother. It should be noted I do not contact you with the intent of aligning you with the East against West, but it is clear that Justosia has ruthlessly expansionist designs, and this may spell trouble for the future if the Justosian government sponsors an invasion via Occitania into your nation.

Therefore, we seek to make an arrangement to protect your nation's territorial sovereignty. It is in our opinion that if your rightfully sovereign government fell to some sort of combined monarchist force, this may cause a domino effect through certain parts of our continent which would result in the rise of the far-right within many nations, forcing another grand continental war, or even a world war. Although ideologically we may not be fully aligned, our nation is a far cry from the backwards totalitarians that once ruled in Rigustad in past days.

We suggest a defensive arrangement in case of Occitanian or Justosian aggression. The context of this arrangement should be discussed further.

No other third party needs to know or hear of this arrangement. Understandably, if there are any of our allies who break relations with you, we may need to do the same. But this does not seem to be a potential risk at the present time.

Dear Premier Rigustad,

I am writing to you today in response to your letter indicating concern over the Justosian Government’s unprovoked aggression against the nations of Gallo-Germania.

The Government of the Aurarine Republic is in agreement that the Great Southern Kingdom of Justosia poses little, if any, actual military threat to the Republic. While the Justosian Government has classified all aspects of the Defense Readiness One Program, the Republic remains confident that the sheer logistics of such a war effort, especially against the well trained, armed, and funded Aurarine Popular Army, would prove too daunting and lead to the ultimate failure of the Justosians and victory to the Aurarians.

However, the current relationship between Occitania and Justosia does cause some concern. As you know, the Justosians intervened in the Occitanian colony of Brecosta and managed to achieve a victory. There is little doubt that the Justosians would seek to use Occitania in any way it can. Even with Occitania’s devastating defeat at the hands of the Serenien, there is cause to believe the country can pose a threat.

To that end, despite the political differences between the NCU and the Aurarine Republic, we do see a necessity to stand in solidarity to ensure that the warmongering Justosian Kingdom does not reach the already volatile continent of Gallo-Germania. We equally agree with the NCU’s assessment that any such arrangement between our countries must be made in strict confidentiality between the parties as to not upset the current balance of power on the continent.

In conclusion, the Aurarine Republic is prepared to meet with representatives of the NCU to discuss broader defense strategies.
