Tibur is burning

To end the temporal powers of the church, that is the stated goal of the mercenaries that have invaded Tibur and driven the head of our church from his post. The wicked of our time have little fear of god, little fear of sinning against the will of Jesus Christ, our saviour. They do not even mask their intentions anymore, clearly announcing their opposition to the will of the almighty for all to hear. The only church they tolerate is a weak church, the only pope they accept one that is beholden to the worldly powers around him, a puppet of the kings of Europe and the bankers that pull their strings.

These men may profess to be good christians, they may voice their faith in the almighty, baptise their children and go to church every sunday, but they stood by idly all the same when armed thugs came to claim that which belonged to the church by divine right. The invasion of Tibur suits them, just as it suited them that the pope had only a ceremonial guard, not a real army to defend the integrity of our church. Some of them may now decide that it suits them to condemn the invasion post factum, to voice their support of the pope and offer their aid, but we know they are hypocrites. Their support comes at a price, their faith is for sale. The holy father is expected to dance to their tune, they are happy he has lost his independence, that he has to rely on the goodwill of worldly rulers now.

We faithful across the world have to carry our share of blame, too. We had grown complacent, had grown fond of a church that could care little for the bickering and posturing of worldly powers. Like the man who had built his house on sand we now find that our home has collapsed, that the church of christ is beset by the forces of the devil on all sides. Men do his bidding at all times and seek to destroy our holy mother church. This is a truth we had failed to remember and, neglecting our defenses, Tibur fell to his soldiers.

Truly then, we must learn our lessons and we must learn them good. It is not for the armies of the Small Countries and Eiffelland or the Gendarmes of Remion to defend our church. It is upon every one of us true faithful to not sit idly by while the Cathedral of Saint Peter is looted. We must awaken our faith from its long slumber and with renewed vigour commit ourselves to the teachings of christ, to spreading it and defending it, to endure martyrdom where necessary and defeat evil where possible.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, let us make sure this was the last humiliation our church had to endure.

Signed
Bishop of Westport

It is not for the sheep to decide the shepherds path

Having driven the holy father from his home by force of arms and seizing the lands of the church without cause other than worldly greed, the sinners of the so called "Reformed Army of Pontica" and the Republic of Remion, better known os occupiers of holy Tibur, have joined forces to make further mockery of our church by declaring a 'referendum' on the fate of the Papal State.

Every faithful christian must realize that this referendum is illegal both by the laws of man and the laws of god. One cannot legitimize his savage conquests by staging a plebiscite at gunpoint with the people of the region intended to be annexed fearful of the consequences of a 'no'. Nor can one ignore gods plan that had bestowed temporal powers upon our holy mother church for a good reason. Seizing the lands of the church and threatening the life of our holy father is an unforgiveable sin for which divine retribution surely yet awaits the sinners.

Christians in the Exilium Petri meanwhile must realize that they cannot participate in this referendum. To do so is to lend credence to it, is to share the sin of heresy and to take upon ones shoulders the same guilt as the soldiers and generals of the Pontican Army has done. Our holy mother church will return to the lands of the Exilium Petri and she will return to holy Tibur itself and there will be a reckoning.

Interview with Cardinal Louis Benedict Taft

Editors note: this interview was conducted before the recent assassination attempt on the head of the Catholic Church, Pope John Joseph

What should Catholics do about the war in Ebria?

Taft: there are many things good Catholics can do to aid our Ebrian brothers and sisters in Christ. They can pray for a quick end to the war and for the souls of those lost to its fierce embrace. They can donate to aid churches in Ebria and their efforts to aid the victims of the conflict. They can go out to protest against the godless regime in Valls and its attempt to destroy the morality of the Ebrian people. Or they can aid the resistance against these attempts in more practical and direct ways.

How can a Catholic support an excommunicated king?

The recent and swift excommunication of King Alfonso de Sánchez has indeed been surprising and rather baffling. In absence of any evidence backing the propagandistic charges of the Republican atheists who accuse him of murder, one can only assume that the lord himself has led Pope John Joseph to take this step for whatever mysterious reason He may have had to do so. The alternative, that evil itself and its worldly servants have the popes ear is too difficult to contain. Whatever the case, the fight in Ebria isn't between Alfonso and the Ebrian President. It is between the forces of tradition, faith, truth and the forces of depravity, atheism and falsehood. Many leaders and advisors on Alfonsos side are good Catholic men, such as my personal friend General Annibal Durran and I have no doubt in their ability to lead Alfonso onto the path of repentance for whatever sins he may to repent for, while protecting Ebria from falling into the hands of the enemies of Jesus Christ.

Could Pope John Joseph be wrong? Many in the church have suggested he need be removed from office. Would you support such a thing?

This is a question I get asked a lot. Not necessarily in regards to Pope John Joseph, but more generally. Can an infallible Pope be wrong? And the questioner usually has one or more examples to quote of Popes both past and present who went against their faith, who visibly sinned and committed evil acts. To these I can only say that our lord directly guides our Pope. His infallability isn't a matter of personal virtue, but of necessity to gods greater plan. He is infallible in the sense that, whatever he does, it does serve the Lords' greater purpose, even if we may be unable to discern it, even if it may be merely to test our faith with times of hardship. If, eventually, He decides that John Joseph is no longer needed as our pope, I have no doubt the Lord will remove him from the holy chair, whether by direct divine intervention of through some more indirect means, it is not for me to say.
