Rosheendove, New Erin - The Dáil Comhlathas is moving to approve a zealous new "improvement" plan of the universal healthcare system proposed in a speech by Cathmáistir (Warmaster) Eoin MacColl. In it, the 65-year old Uachtarán and elected leader of the National Radical Party outlined the plan to fully-nationalize the healthcare system under one regulatory body which will allow for a more streamlined procedure to increase doctors, reduce wait times, expand hospital coverage as well as reduce corruption. This will allow, in addition to other specialist corps like the Corps of Engineers and the National Science Guild, the foundation of a Medical Corps to finally recognize all medical practices as a national service worthy of Citizenship. In addition, family practices will become recognized by the new Medical Corps despite not technically being part of the larger Health Care System.
Universal health care was introduced under Warmaster Dónall Ó Ríordáin in 1935. Reworked by successive governments, its current incarnation, Australmarian Health Care came into existence in 1964 under famous Warmaster Roibeárd Pronsias Ó Cinnéide, second of a political dynasty in Southern government which began with his brother, Eoin. Traditionally, the management of public health has been split between the state and national governments. The states manage hospitals and attached outpatient services, while the Comhlathas funds the Pharmaceutical Supply Program (providing prescription medication free of charge) and general practice. Under the government of the current Uachtarán, Warmaster MacColl, a health reform plan has emerged which will allow the national government to take full responsibility for primary health care, essentially taking control of hospitals and outpatient services from the states and bringing all of Ausmed under a single regulatory body. The Australmarian Health Care System continues to bear importance as a model of our striving towards a more perfect republic in the South Seas.
