OOC note: This RP will take place in the area I claim as the Valkanian Eastern Cape. While I and Asylan will be the main RPers in this thread I have tagged all of you so that you may respondtake part later as you see fit. You're welcome to intervene with recommendations and corections but please don't turn this into a RP coordination thread. Enjoy!

The sun rises in the Eastern Cape once more. Yet this time something is out of place. The area known as the Valkanian Eastern Cape was a Valkanian protectorate and trusts state until it decided it wanted full independence in late 1953. Valkany intervened in early 1954 by sending 5,000 men to occupy the land. But today a freighter approaches Port Victoria, the colony's capital city.

 

[Asylan]

"I'm telling you, this is a bad plan."

The Oxman Arms representative turned to the captain of the old freighter, "I understand you are nervous Mr. Forsberg, but if you intend to stay employed with the company you will continue as ordered."

"Does the Asylan government even know about this?" Captain Forsberg asked.

"Absolutely not, if they did the company would be finished. We are running on fumes with our finances, if we don't complete this sale the company will go under in a month. The deal has been set and ready for some time now."

Captain Forsberg frowned and turned his attention back to the forward window of the bridge. In the distance he could see the shoreline of Port Victoria in the distance. He turned to his communications officer, "Hail the Port Victoria port authority. Send them this message."

He pulled a small scrap of paper out of his pocket and slipped it to his officer, who nodded and began to relay the message. Forsberg was tense, waiting for the reply that would either get him killed or make him rich.

"Port Victoria acknowledges and we are clear for dock."

Forsberg breathed a sigh of relief. He turned back to his overseer, "We are in. Make this quick."

 

[Valkany]

Private Buttersburg: Her Kommandat, the ship from Asylan has docked.
Commander Ravenstein: Good, good, send the men in, we'll catch them red-handed.

Valkanian troops move on the ship

Valkanian Soldier: This is the Valkanian Security Force in the Eastern Cape, you're being boarded to search for possible illegal goods. Please cooperate with the troops and we will not harm you.

A group of six Valkanian soldiers enter the ship's bridge. They are no group of rookies, the distinct ΕΔ patch shows that they're experienced men from Valkany's special forces. Somebody must have tipped the Valkanians off.

 

[Portusgalia]

A group of citizens from Mozambia delivered a public petition in order for the security of Mozambia. They ask the Prefect to stay alert to the Valkanian protectorate on the south, and certain moves. The natives have told them of certain ideias of the "Great White Father from the North", wich the mozambians say it is Demetrius, the Emperor, and a certain moves of military personel in there. The Secretary of the Prefect put him at stake...

Secretary Faria: Sir... It is your duty to do something about the security of Mozambia. This public petition, has... well ate least 50 000 signatures... It is a great deal of people...

Prefect Colonel Coutinho: You know what Faria... I'm sick and tired of Valkanians and their bullshit. In 1928 they frammed us, and they still framming us. Do you what is their main problem here in Himyar? They are NOTHING!!!! Did you hear me? NOTHING!!! A bunch of new incommers that think they are the owners of this continent!

Their Emperor makes an huge exibition on the news saying that they will have state of the art military weapons and undestructible soldiers in here. This news are for us! Haven't you get it yet!? They think Mozambia is only about Casinos, Parties, proms, balls, dances, dance parties, drinking, holydays... And we are a bunch of drunkards, and me, probably a Casino boss! They are like ants! They only obey to their Queen, that foolish kid emperor who thinks he is playing with toy soldiers. I already got news from Lisbon. They ordered me to put the National Guard in alert, 3 Battalions are off...

Secretary Faria: Woooo Shit!

Colonel Coutinho: Yes... I will have to give an excuse to this... And that is what concerns me! Because of this fool, Lisbon is all nuts, and the exploration of Himyar is at a pin point!

Secretary Faria: And if they invade us!? They are all morons for that!

Colonel Coutinho: They think this is a clique of blacks with arrows, they are wrong... very wrong.. They don't know us...

Order the National Guard to stay alert. The frontiers with south are to be controled!

For now Mozambia has the National Guard in alert. In the South, the local National Guard does patrols. While the Mozambian Army and Air Force are in alert and ready for war, but no moving, they stay in their posts.

 

[Asylan]

The Arms representative turned to Forsberg, "You idiot! What have you done?"

"Shut up or you are going to get us killed." Forsberg shot back raising his hands in the air.

"No, we can't let them fall into the their hands." The representative started to run the nearest door that wasn't directly guarded. Forsberg grabbed him before he could get to far and threw him to the ground. He stood back up and pointed at the man.

"Look I don't know what you want here, but he has to do with it. Just let my crew go."

Meanwhile in the Imperial Central Palace

Admiral Spirtzof: Your Majesty the Portusgalians have placed their forces on the borders of their colony!
Emperor Demetrius XV: Oh that old fool of a Queen, she thinks I want that shitty old desert she calls "Mozambia" doesn't she? Leave them be we don't have time to play with them. Our real problem is the native revolt, they have 400,000 men she has 30,000, simple math.
Prime Minister Duke Anthony XVII: But Your Majesty, what if they make the first move?
Emperor Demetrius XV: Oh please Anthony don't make me laugh we both know that those sitters aren't brave enough for that. And besides what will their 30,000 strong "National Guard" do to our 200,000 Regular Army men? Shoot them with those century old peashooters they dare call rifles? Hah!
Admiral Spirtzof: Sir we have detained a man from Asylan who was attempting to smuggle weapons into Port Victoria at the Eastern Cape colony.
Emperor Demetrius XV: See? Our real enemy reveals themselves as expected. Get everything you can out of him, then hang him in Port Victoria's square. So the natives there don't get high hopes so early on.

 

[Valkany]

Commander Ravenstein: Arrest him and let the captain and his crew go. We promised not to harm them if they cooperate and we'll keep our word. And confiscate all those weapons too.
Soldier: Distanften dov! Vausekt!

2 hours later, inside a Valkanian interrogation room in Port Victoria

Major Sokolov: Wake up, wake up now mister "representative", I have a lot of questions that I want you to answer. Not that you have a choice, he-he. Now let us begin, what was your mission in Port Victoria?
Serviceman Kowenskof: Sir a few minutes ago a bomb went off in Port Victoria's city center! Another in Valkany's capital, Zessionsford, too!
Major Sokolov: What?! Who's behind this?!
Serviceman Kowenskof: Apparently a group called the Himyarish Eastern Cape Freedom Fighters. Some say they have support from Asyaln. The Emperor has ordered a 200,000 strong force to the Eastern Cape Colony. His Majesty is afraid of a new revolt!
Major Sokolov: And with good reason... I'll see what I can get from this meat-sack but keep me posted!

 

[Valkany]

The Valkanian Expeditionary Force has arrived at Port Victoria. They have already begun enforcing martial law and are setting up checkpoints at every major city. In Port Victoria and Kronigsberg, the Colony's two largest population centers all native Himyarish persons have been restricted into a special "zone". While Port Victoria is heavily fortified and manned by the Expeditionary Force, Kronigsberg is manned by the less well trained and equipped Eastern Cape Defense Force. An attack by the NHECFF's 400,000 men could easily get them a foothold in the Colony's second largest city...

OOC: [MENTION=1673]Asylan[/MENTION] Remember you're in control of the rebels so you have to start battling my government's forces. Kronigsberg could be a good target, don't you think?

 

[Portusgalia]

The National Guard sets a few posts on the southern desert areas, mainly machine gun nests and observation posts. Bazookas are a nice substitute for canons and are widely used... Horse patrols, do a must wider cover of the area.
The mozambian National Guard, in comparison with their portusgalian counterparts, are better equipped and armed. Since a NG has to pay for its equipment, or it is given by the town council in some cases, Mozambia is much richer. 90% of Mozambian National Guards use semi-auto rifles.

Valkany's expeditionary force has started fortifying the Eastern Cape Colony's borders as well. Machine gun nests and barbed wire are only the basics with air patrols taking place daily and the air-force ready to strike at any location within 10 minutes of notification. The Expeditionary Force is equipped with Valkany's latest and best weapons and is made up of some of the best men in Valkany's armed forces. Additionally checkpoints have been placed on all major roads and all major cities have been fortified to defend against both the Natives and any other possible threats.

 

[Valkany]

A native spy has informed the Native Guerrillas of the weaknesses in Kronigsberg's defenses. Their leader Brogdoro Abundagubu has ordered an attack on Kronigsberg with the entirety of his army (400,000 men). Their attack has all but annihilated the Valkanian defenders, with the only 400 remaining men of the original 5000 strong Colonial Defense Force fighting desperately in the city's streets to buy time for the civilians to evacuate. It's a fight for the streets leading to the port as the civilians will need to get ships from there to flee to Port Victoria.

Valkanian Colonial Guard Major: Keep up the fire! Don't let them get out of cover!
Valkanian Colonial Guard Trooper: Their outflanking us! We can't hold them back!
Valkanian Colonial Guard Major: What the- They've got a Sherman Tank! Watch out!
Valkanian Colonial Guard Trooper: Where the hell did they get a Sherm- *the tank fires and destroys the Valkanian barrier, killing most of the the men behind it*

The Native troops rush into the port. While a large number of civilians have already evacuated, a few remain waiting for ships to come an pick them up. They use whatever weapons they can find attempting to hold the natives back. But it's pointless. The Natives storm their positions slaughtering everyone; men and women, young and old. The battle of Kronigsberg has ended with a Native victory and has claimed the lives of 4,600 Valkanian troops, 8,000 Natives and 22,000 civilians. The civilians and soldiers that managed to escape are now docking in Port Victoria ready to deliver the sad news to their fellow Valkanians.

 

[Portusgalia]

Mozambia authorised the entrance of refugees from Valkany in their escape from the guerrillas. The main concern of Mozambia now it is to stop the guerillas from entering in Mozambian soil, because the Prefect doesn't wont to be accused by Valkany that Portusgalia is cooperating with the natives. The ones who enter, are expeled in a polite way. The refugees are free to chose to stay or to leave.

Meanwhile Colonel Coutinho is happy for the Valkanian major defeat in Himyar... What a relief for the portusgalian authorities!

 

[Valkany]

The Valkanian colonial administration is removed from governmental duties over the colony. The Eastern Cape is placed under direct military control. Port Victoria and other major cities are fortified in preparation for a siege. Major Ports are heavily secured and checks are performed on all ships to stop the supply chains of the natives. Anyone suspected of cooperating with the natives is rounded up and executed. In this manner 6,000 Negros have already been executed. The air-force has bombed Swetho and Grobado killing 10,000 natives and also bombed Kronigsberg after it was captured by the natives killing another 20,000. The coordinated attacks of the Valkanian army and air-force on Native towns on the front-line between the Government and Guerrilla forces has killed another 10,000 natives. These attacks, in combination with the native losses in Kronigsberg raise the total casualties of the natives to 48,000. Meanwhile in Port Victoria the Valkanian Expeditionary Force hasn't lost a man. Instead more and more power and reinforcements get in their hands every day. With the Colonial Administration removed from power by the Emperor and the Colonial Defense Force almost completely annihilated they're in complete control of the colony. And now they're determined to defeat the Natives no matter what it takes.

 

[Valkany]

The Valkanian Office of Naval Intelligence has uncovered information leading them to believe that the Natives are preparing to besiege Port Victoria. All forces of the Expeditionary Force are garrisoned there. The city has been heavily fortified and all Negros in Port Victoria have been evicted outside the city's boundaries. The Native Rebels however consider them "impure" as they "had been living with the whites before the revolt" and start executing them on Brogdoro Abundagu's command. The Valkanian army intervenes managing to save most of the Negros before they are executed. It is then decided to let them stay inside the city but within a special zone for their own safety as tensions between them and the whites had been rising. Meanwhile in Mozambia most refugees decide to either head for Port Victoria to help the Expeditionary Force defend the city or stay in Mozambia until the revolt is over and return afterwards.

 

[Valkany]

The Native forces attempted to besiege and capture Port Victoria. Their strategy involved surrounding the city by land and sea and assaulting it with the entirety of their forces. However their naval blockade failed after their small ships were defeated by the much larger and better equipped Imperial Valkanian Navy. At land the surround the city but the native commanders believed this Battle would be as easy as Kronigsberg and hastily moved the entirety of their forces to attack the city. This proved fatal as the city's defenders, made up of the Expeditionary Force and the Colony's residents, both black and white, held their ground while making use of the impressive complex of trenches and defenses they had built. The natives where unable to push into the city and break through the city;s defenses. They suffered heavy losses, losing almost half of their entire army (170,000). The defenders on the other hand only lost 8,000 troops and 632 civilians. Native forces have been routed back to Umlazu loosing nearly half of their territory. It is expected they will not recover from their losses. One of the natives' leaders Gromgaro Chestadubo has deserted along with his 75,000 men and is currently negotiating with the Valkanians. Furthermore the recent decision of Valkany's government to grant citizenship and rights to all natives has resulted in 50,000 men deserting from the rebel army and laying down their arms. The Valkanian Army is currently surrounding Umlazu and is expected to have captured by tomorrow.

Completed

The Valkanian Government's Forces have captured Umluzu ending the Eastern Cape Insurgency. In the battle that took place 30,000 Rebels and 200 Valkanian Soldiers lost their lives while the remaining rebel forces surrendered. The Rebel Leadership in Umlazu has been arrested and is currently awaiting trial in Port Victoria's Supreme Colonial Court of the Eastern Cape. The Emperor officially announced the end of the revolt and called for a new age of equality, peace and cooperation between all Valkanians, black and white.

Meanwhile, in Lourenço Marques, the capital of Mozambia, Colonel Coutinho receives all the news of what happen in Eastern Cape. Lisbon is shut up, the international community is crazy about the slaughter, no orders from Lisbon, no action... Although the must intimate desires of Colonel Coutinho is to give weapons to the Himyarish peoples of Eastern Cape, and even seducing them to join the Kindgom of Portusgalia.

The barrier guards and patrols still operating in South Mozambia, since nobody believes in peace in Eastern Cape.
