Chemical weapons have been used for the first time by the Alfonsists against the people of Ebria and its allies, as they have attacked Radilan lines with mustard gas. Casualties of the chemical attack, followed by the counterattack by Alfonsist forces have risen to an estimated 2000 to 5000 dead and wounded, forcing the Radilan unit back to Arapiles and only the quick response from the Ebrian Legion saving the front to not fully collapse in the coastal sector. The existence of chemical weapons in Ebria is a shock for many and leaves more questions behind the initial shock. From where did the rebels put their hands on them? There have been no Ebrian chemical weapons program, or if there was, it clearly shows how factions within the army have been ignoring the civilian government and acting like a deep state arming themselves for the war they are waging now. Or if its not the Alfonsist deep state, is the blockade designed to be effieint in keeping away aid to the republic but unefficient when the Alfonsists need to be armed? The Alfonsists seem to have started using chemical weapons allover the frontlines, managing to use them to their advantage to temporary halt the republican offensive. Attacks by the National Republican Army have been repulsed in Daimiel and Balazote in the east, while in the west, the troops advanced along the coast up to the initial positions that were once defended by Radilans. It is better for all of us, than to want to break apart Ebria. I have signed to send aid to Jysken Ostveg when they were divided and in civil war and now they stab us in the back. What in actual God's name did I just saw in SatTV1 Nachrichten? The Rheinians should be ashamed that such disgusting characters like Wilhelm Pfeiffer are in government. The shame of pushing fake news, having delirious takes like the "3rd civil war in 9 months?" When such disgusting ignorance and colonial like takes where he praises the tasteless turn against its own allies in CETO and the MU are presented as virtuous level headedness and we are just barbarians who always have to escalate to fight, it is clear that one's political future should be dead in a sane nation. This has been the most hurtful smack this country has received from Rheinbund, especially as I have to deal with reports of chemical attacks and I call widows on a daily basis to offer my condolences. It is clear that we have been naïve to put our hopes in allying Rheinbund, if that is their position.​
