Utsikten härifrån
The first thoughts from our program come from none other than myself, Emma Almström. Utsikten härifrån brings you the world through the glasses of the fairer sex. We discuss topics that know no bounds but we prefer to discuss topics that are relevant to today's current events, events that women care about. There are no restrictions and each writer may choose to discuss a new topic rather than continuing a discussion. Each co-writer in our program has their own set of beliefs and opinions and it is up to you, the reader to come to terms with what we have to say. Come to us to gain knowledge about what happens around the world and hopefully learn a thing or two about it as well. Our goal is to have someone represent every woman and every ideal, but we are who we are and nothing is set in stone. Our opinions are what builds this program and the world is what shapes it.

As part of our first discussion, I believe the most important topic that any caring person should care about is that our Prime Minister is now dead. She was the first person in the world to represent a Green party and be head of government for their country. She was a sponsor of peace, looking for so many different ways to obtain it in the Celtic Wars of Aggression, and the recipient of the Cannie "Oceanic Medal of True Peace." She was a winner and she cared about the environment. She showed us that the two don't have to be separate. Her death is a shocking discovery and it was aboard an airplane! She had a better chance to get shocked by lightning! Or did she? Cannie authorities shut down their airport in Vesper for a full day. It seems there are suspicions that post-delegationist hands are involved in this tragedy. They mentioned other groups, but everyone knows the real battle in Oceania is with post-delegationism. Why would Communists want to kill a Green Party leader in the world? It doesn't make much sense, and the fact that only post-delegationism makes sense is all the more a serious concern.

Why would the pilot not radio for help? This was a government aircraft. I would think that all kinds of emergency procedures would be in place in the event of such a tragedy should an aircraft carrying our most important member of government be threatened. Who is our post-delegationist enemy though? How did this happen? The real problem here is I have a million and one questions and not a single answer. I think we can only hope that mechanical failure is at the heart of this problem. Imagine being the person who last checked the plane though. They are probably killing themselves as we speak. Praying to the Mormon Jesus that they aren't the reason the plane crashed. Assuming it was a Cannie anyway!

Suionia will miss you Linnéa Hjelmer-Lindeskog. I challenge the world to find a better world leader and urge that she be honored in some way in Oceania for her death that came far too early.

Prime Minister Linnéa Hjelmer-Lindeskog's death and subsequent business

The only thing you are correct about Emma is that this is a tragedy. Otherwise, this is ultimately a sham. The only good thing about her was that she was a woman. She had our interests in mind. Otherwise what good was she? A Green politician? A joke. The fact they even took a majority was the silliest thing I've ever seen in a modern democracy. The fact we're blaming this on Post-Delegationism is like conjuring up a booeyman that just does not exist. Pure and simple this is proof of our socialized services failing ourselves. If this is a privatized sector, we don't have these problems. This plane doesn't crash.

Celebrating her as a peacemaker? What did she do to deserve this? The Cannies gave her a medal for breathing or something, I don't know. It sure was nice but I felt it had bigger political reasons than actual messages of peace. Maybe to make their medal gain some kind of worldly prominence.

My point is that this is tragic, nobody deserves to die, but the enormity of this isn't what so many are making it out to be. The world going to keep turning and maybe we'll at least get a Social Democrat to head the government now. Perhaps get some needed economic growth. Which leads me to a real topic. The economy! The one thing that might matter more than this terrible shampoo I'm using and need to change (do not buy Carolus Optimus Shampoo), is the economy. Our Prime Minister's death aside, I feel this is a boost to our economy. She did nothing for it and our currency has faltered because of it. My boyfriend couldn't find work! I dumped him!

Rumors have it that our car manufacturers are moving to Oceania and Touyou. Specifically there is a possibility that it ends up in Cantigny, Karakhstan or Vangala. This isn't going to help my old loser boyfriend, but maybe it will start to help our currency stabilize. Don't ask me why, but a smart fellow at the university told me that our economic future in the long term looks bright if we can slowly move away from a manufacturing based economy, to a more service based economy. Write it down, tell your husband, get an education and work behind a computer. Suionia will move on stronger, regardless of whatever some business suffocating Green party wants to do.

Did anyone else notice that Commonwealth Basketball might be coming to Nya Västergötland? Something about the Brewers from some Cannie town moving there because they can't afford to operate anymore or something. Or am I the only girl who likes watching those men run up and down the court and break out into fisticuffs? Am I the only one who enjoys an athletic man who can stand up for himself? It's just like an old fashion ice hockey fight here in Suionia. Just there isn't any skating in circles, no clutching and grabbing, just a few jabs and maybe a little bit of blood. I'll go visit them if they end up in Mariehamn or something.

Prime Minister Linnéa Hjelmer-Lindeskog's death is sad but what is the future?

I'm sorry Linnéa but Emma I think has this a bit more under control. It's important we remember her for what she was and what she did. Even if her time with us was too short, we can tell not all of her goals were fully realized. Whether or not history will judge this to be in her favor is not ours to judge right now but rather ours to ignore. I suppose what I mean to say is that what we say today won't be considered and that's not to say that our opinions on her don't matter, but rather our opinions on her are more important to our political future than her political legacy. Shampoo aside, and I really recommend you try Örtessenser, I find it extremely interesting as to what I've heard in reference to backroom politics. Some have thought that the Social Democrats would take the Prime Minister's seat, but Madame Öqvist isn't well liked and her party is in disarray.

This leaves the former co-chair, Robert Wärmlander to take on the roll as the next highest member in the Environmental Party's roster. When Hjelmer-Lindeskog took the Prime Minister's office, she took it because Wärmlander didn't want to position whatsoever. He said he didn't want to open up his family to the spotlight and ridicule. Assuming they don't demand new elections, I'd expect a young up and comer from the Environmental Party to take the Prime Minister's office. The Greens are a young party, their membership are often university students. I wouldn't be too surprised if someone seems personable in the party gets the nod much to the Moderate Party's disappointment. I wonder if former Prime Minister Hannah Lundqvist can swing a deal possibly to regain power as well. I wouldn't be surprised if our war is prolonged if Lundqvist comes back, and/or practically over if a new Green leader appears.

...and really Linnéa? Basketball? How about a look at the movies? Some really good ones are coming out this summer like Pirates of the Implarian, a cute action-romance with some of my favorite actors, Charles Bishop from Cantgny, Maria Skoglund and Oikawan Nakamura Yuji.

Old rivalries, Danish Aggression and Viking Pride

With recent squabbles seen in Hirosaki, Touzen and various diplomatic circles, I have to ask publicly if the Danes know what they are doing? Just a few months ago, the Danes were the embodiment of calm, cool, and collected. They were a Scandian fortress in a German land, and were more keen to maintaining European peace and pitching in a good word on occasion.

The Hirosaki Conference came along and suddenly the world was flipped upside down. Danish delegates seemed unable or unwilling to cooperate with Annika Udén Johansson, our representative at the conference. Annika seemed amused with the interaction, but our foreign circles were none too pleased. Some members of our foreign press described the interaction between our nations at the conference as heated. Many others wondering if the Danes knew they were dealing with the sister of the Prime Minister of Götarike. Annika has kept mum on the topic but she isn't officially a member of the foreign ministry. She was sent to the conference on the basis of former Prime Minister Linnéa Hjelmer-Lindeskog desiring a trusted colleague there.

I'm not sure what's up with the Danes after that. We've now seen an sudden embrace of Viking ways, as Danes turned their eyes to the seas and then our coasts. They created a military base in Midgard, and then send a ton of ships to secure the peace in the Sea of Sindh. We've now seen an aggressive Danmark, which is contrary to their normal character. What we've now seen is that nobody likes aggressive Danes. We know everyone's character, Engellexic and Geatish policies tend to be heavy and sometimes viewed as one of arrogance. Franconian or Touzen policies often urge the status quo, or in the case of Touzen, Post-Delegationist expansion. Here we have cute little Denmark, known for tagging along with the Germans, going on a power spree. It would seem that nobody is amused... and why would they? This kind of assault on global politics they are pulling is a sudden departure from what we expected from Danmark. We knew our old Prime Minister Hannah Lundqvist was stubborn. We knew Linnéa Hjelmer-Lindeskog had a plan she would not deviate from. The Danes? They are now an unknown quantity.

To add insult to injury, and this would make Annika's plight make more sense, Harriet Fauconberg, the Chief of Foreign Affairs in Cantignia described her travels to Danmark as visit to a place where "sexism is alive and well." It's become a general feeling that Danes do not appreciate a place where women are in power. It would mark no surprise that Lotta Öqvist, our own Minister for Foreign Affairs had issues in dealing with Midgard, considered a culturally identical location to Danmark. This is something that bothers me the most. Why did the North become a place where a woman can thrive, "outside of the kitchen" and places like Danmark and the Germanic interior, woman find themselves relegated to second class citizens? It really is remarkable how the Anglo-Scandian world, minus the Danes has become such a progressive place for women. I mean nothing equals the opportunity for us that can be found in Arendaal and Götarike, but still. It's remarkable that such blatant sexism comes from a so called power like Danmark. It's pig disgusting.

Maybe the Danes should go back to what they do best. Playing third fiddle to the Scandians of the North.
