Vereinigte Fränkische Schiffswerften

The Vereinigte Fränkische Schiffswerften is the leading shipbuilder of Franken and renown in Central Europe and beyond. As to Franken itself VFS is virtually unchallenged when it comes to the construction of battle-fit ships, whereas there is a larger rivalry between domestic and foreign competitors on the civilian sector. In Franconia VFS maintains its largest dockyards in Würzburg and Erlangen, where it has its headquarters right next to the Royal Navy's Admiralty.

Fully liable shareholder (phG) of VFS is the KfW's strategic holdings subsidiary, which ultimately makes the VFS a semi-state-owned company. Due to the particular legal nature of the KGaA its „ordinary“ stockholders do not have as much influence as an AG's shareholder. While the VFS isn't even publicly listed, free trade of the shares is not prohibited at all.

Please note that these war ships are only sold to governments and not to private entities. Furthermore, they are all subject to potential review by the Reichssicherheitsrat (national security council).

The Department of Defence, as authorised under the Defence Appropriations Bill 2010, wishes to place an order with VFS for:

4 x Louisa Class frigates

Owing to budgetary restraints, we wish to split the order into two lots, with 2 frigates to be delivered now, and 2 more as options pending Congressional approval next week. We hope this is not too great an inconvenience.

On behalf of the Makai Coast Guard, we wish to place an order for 2 Anna-Class Corvettes, to paid for in yearly installments of roughly 5 million Taler each. We desire them if possible by the end of 2012, to replace our current ageing Gunboats and provide crucial security against the threat of Piracy and Terrorism.
