PRAAG - Tsar Sviatoslav has spoken at Praag's 341st anniversary celebrations. It has been almost three and a half centuries since Tsar Boris I "The Great" announced that the city would be taking on the role of Lysnk Oblast's capital.

The Tsar praised the work which had been carried out by the town's council over the years, and hailed the city's past as "a symbol of success for Volkovan culture". He went on to say that the city had become a melting-pot for immigrants into Volkova, and was proof that integration had been a success. The Tsar - who holds an advanced degree in Religious Studies and the Nordic Christianism - also praised the city council for their detailed research regarding the city's religious history and said he was proud to be the leader of a nation at the forefront of such an important area of religion.

STOVISLAVL, NORCSVA OBLAST - In a joint statement, the Secretaries for Agriculture & Forestry, Environment and Leisure & Tourism announced the annual hunting quota for moose in the Norscva Oblast. In a highly controversial decision, the secretaries announced that all moose can be hunted. "The moose is a non-native, introduced species, which has entered Volkova from the north. It is causing enormous damage in the reforestation projects we are trying to carry out in the upper river vallies."

Reforestation is an important project to counter erosion, provide a better microclimate in the vallies of Norscva Oblast and to prevent flash floods in the upper regions of the river Blaksvo and river Volva bassins. The moose thrives in the relatively flat and open vallies, where they feed on.
Furthermore, the moose lacks natural predators in the area.

"There are wolves and bears in the Volva, but they are not used to such a large prey. The stick to their ordinary diets and try to avoid running into this colossal deer." The moose feeds on leafs and young branches of birch, willow, oak and even spruce. "Once they have nibbled on the top of our young saplings, they won't grow any higher. It is a disaster for young reforested areas."

The hunting season, which traditionally begins October 1st, will be heavily promoted in the Oblast.
