PUBLIC STATEMENT
AN OFFER TO THE GUTNISH PIRATES​

Having been charged with the crimes of piracy and having fallen into rouge nationhood, the Gutnish Pirate Republic now stands at a crossroads, faced with the unwavering might of the Federation of Westernesse. Our strike group has been positioned to bring unimaginable damage to your ports and port cities defenses. Our government and military has shown it's resolve by clearing the Gothic Sea of mines laid by your so called allies in Tarusa, we are prepared to go one step further and dismantle the military of your nation by force if need be.

You may think that your allies in Tarusa will come to your aid, they may wish to do so, but they are trapped beyond the Rikord Archipelago in a civil war that will not end quick enough to benefit you. We demand the surrender of your ships and the occupation of your capital city by Federation forces where your politicians responsible for your current path shall be given a just and fair punishment for their poor choices, your government reformed under the watchful eye of Federation democratic experts and your military turned to a more peaceful and defensive nature.

Spare your people the suffering that will be brought upon you by forcing our hand to violence. Let us bring peace and freedom back to your people. You may think you can fight back and force us away from your lands, you may even successfully kill Federation sailors and soldiers, but in the end we shall be victorious and your nation bloodied and beaten; should this path be taken, the repercussions will be extremely severe and our occupation of your homeland much less benevolent.

The problem with a pirate republic was that is was not very organized. There was a sort of Pirate President that rather let everything go this direction, but otherwise the society was more or less operating independent from each other. The message from the Federation was eventually received and passed onto the desk of President. President Alfredsson studied it a bit in dismay. He really didn't have the power to do anything, nor really a good way to attempt to solve the problem.

He spoke to some council of ministers who warned him of the consequences of refusing, and the willingness of the nation to fight. Alfredsson himself was not so sure though. They had limited resources and no where to hide. Once the Navy was inevitably sunk, they'd have to rely on the Army. The Army was better positioned to function, but they did not like the Navy, who got most of the spoils of piracy. Alfredsson was not even sure if they'd show up to fight. There was a lot of civil arguing in the council but no real determination could be made.

In tradition with Gutnish culture they decided to schedule another meeting. Unfortunately, scheduling was a bit tight, so they settled on a week later and hoped they could solve it then.
