Top Story - Government Reveal 'Business Incentives' For Ailing Industries

The national Government has released details of a 'groundbreaking' new bill aimed to kick start Zirialand's struggling economy;

"Today, I put forward our country's first step to end this depression we have endured for far too long. Since our great nation came to existance almost 20 years ago, we have struggled to find a solution to our greatest of teething problems."

"That is, untill now. This new incentive will reward our entrepreneurs and businesses by cutting back on tax charges for their first 3 years of existance. We will support our new and existing businesses with improved infrastructure and trade routes throughout the country..."

"..Zirialand can, and will, stand on it's own two feet in this brave new era of the country's history!"
- Richard Magnolia, Minister of Economics

Whilst numbers have supported this move, there has already be concerns raised about the tax cuts proposed in this new bill. Shadow Minister for Econmics, Ed del Luchuza, says "Richard and the rest of the government obviously have failed to get their figures correct. This just simply isn't a drastic enough change. We need to close our borders to the rest of the world and rely solely our creating a secure enough platform to then build upon. It's all very well giving a tax cut but what happens after three years? They'll all cumble to pieces again. It'll just be one big, expensive spiral that the government truly do not have a grip on."

Top Story - "Zirialand Must Make It's Regional Presence Felt"

Foreign Affairs Minister Angelica O'Dorson last night committed to a 'stronger and more open push' towards growing relations with foreign countries. With Zirialand's recent acceptance as a single state, it's relations with outside countries has been stagnated due to the country's econmic crisis.

However, according to Minister O'Dorson, now is the time for the country to open it's doors again and start working with other countries;

"Zirialand is a pleasent, enviromentally stunning nation that still needs to cure it's economic difficulties. Under the Indies for the past decade, we've seen our national profile decrease rapidly, forcing businesses to leave for more appealing countries."

"Now that the public have voted for change, we must back our promises to be open to stronger alliances with fellow countries. This is a modern Zirialand now, one open to progression, change and full with hope for the future."
