Udenrigsministeriet
Kongeriket Danmark

His Excellency the Foreign Minister of the Empire of Zoomany,

As the Empire of Zoomany has gradually re-emerged into the arena of international relations, the government of the Crown of Danmark has taken steps to develop bilateral relations with your country, as is standard policy with all neighbouring states.

It is our considered view that both our countries have a shared interest in friendship and cooperation in a range of areas especially at a political, economic and military level particularly with respect to maritime trade and security, and we look forward to discussions on areas of mutual concern.

We trust that this communication will find a favourable response.

Cordial felicitations,

Hr. Henrik Westerveld

Foreign Minister of Danmark

PRESIDENT MAMIC GIVES ULTIMATUM TO OPPOSITION
With the Liberal-Democrat walkout of Parliament approaching its second full week, President Mamic issued an ultimatum to the fleeing members. The ultimatum was sent to the homes of each member of Parliament who has walked out. The letter has been deemed classified, but anonymous sources from Werdome suggest the president has warned they either return willingly, or the Nation Guard, or even the Imperial Army, will conduct a sweep of the nation.

Since the Liberal-Democrats fled Werdome, they have kept their whereabouts under strict secrecy. Family members of the opposition party said they have talked to them briefly, but have not heard where they fled, or how long they would be gone. Parliament has been rendered useless the last two weeks, as the Constitution of the Empire requires "all parties, with a majority of officeholders, be present at all Parliament proceedings." Since the entire Liberal-Democratic party has fled the capitol, there is nothing the three remaining parties can do. Imperial Party Majority Leader Ante Feller, also current Speaker of the Upper House, has called Parliament into recess until the issue is resolved.

NATIONAL GUARD TO DEPLOY TO ST. LEDGER
President Mamic assumed emergency executive power with Parliament rendered useless by the Liberal-Democrat walk-out which took place in March. His first order was to deploy National Guard units to the restless city of St. Ledger, where the opposition party has been rumored to have hunkered down. President Mamic has stated that if the dissenting members of Parliament do not return to Werdome by the end of the week, he will suggest suspending the political party's chart,er essentially allowing Parliament to resume its function without the input of the party. If the party's charter is suspended, all elected Liberal-Democrat officials would be suspended nation-wide.

The mayor of St. Ledger, Markus Vukovic, a Liberal-Democrat himself, has stated his support for the National Guard's duty to "ensure peace, and establish a violent-free city". When asked whether he knew the whereabouts of the Parliament members, he offered no comment, saying his affairs "do not correspond directly with Parliament."

MAYORAL ELECTIONS IN JEOPARDY
Corresponding to the walk-out, President Mamic has also suggested District Mayoral Votes, which are slated for Friday, may not occur if the Liberal-Democrats do not return to Werdome. President Mamic has taken a more staunch line with the Liberal-Democrats, suggesting they are "helping fray the bonds of democracy".

With news of the elections in jeopardy, the nation has become polarized politically. The southern half of the nation, which if more likely to support the Imperial and Nationalist Fascist parties, have denounced the walk-out and the Liberal-Democrats themselves. In the north, however, especially in St. Ledger, and the neighboring cities, Imperial support has basically become non-existent.

MAYORAL ELECTIONS CANCELED FOR TOMORROW
The standoff between the Imperial and Liberal-Democrat parties came to a head today when President Mamic announced District Mayoral elections had been canceled due to the absence of the liberals in Parliament. President Mamic called his decision a "dissapoint, but the only course of action". He remains hopeful that the dissenting members of Parliament will voluntarily return to Werdome tomorrow, the deadline before their party charter is suspended. If they do not return by midnight tomorrow, the president announced he would have the National Guard units stationed in St. Ledger, where they are suspected of hiding, to locate them.

Former Imperial President Anton Vicic called the move by the Liberal-Democrats as a "cowardly act. It is apparent they are trying to fray the ties of democracy."

WERDOME TO SEND FUNDING TO SOLAREN
With the Solaren Conflict coming to an end, Werdome announced that it would be sending financial support for rebuilding efforts. The amount the capitol is willing to send has yet to be announced, but Werdome has also mentioned it would be willing to send labor as well, if needed.
