New ruler is about to be elected

The old premier of The People's Democratic Republic of Gorno-Altai, Andrey Andropov resigned today after a massive scandal with the council of county prefects earlier this week.
As you know, in this year, the people of Gorno-Altai entered in strikes because of the strict communist regime and revolted to make a new democratic regime. Premier Andrey Andropov, maybe the last ruler of the people's republic, wanted to command the army to enter the conflict and kill the citizens, but the Constitution says that the ruler needs th have 70% approval of the county prefects. But happily none of them wanted to side with the old communist regime and decided that he should resign. At first he didn't accept but when the army sided with the citizens he resigned. Now the councils have united to choose a new premier.
Even if Andrey Andropov was one of the dictatorial rulers of the county, he was also one of it's greatest leader. He transformed a agricultural , undeveloped country into a great industrial power. When he came to power the literacy rate of the people was 40% and now is 92%.
In his name the old Ştefan Voitec Nuclear Power Plant Căciuleşti is renamed Andrey Andropov Nuclear Power Plant Căciuleşti.

In other titles:

-The Altaian Soccer Championship ended after a 5-4 win of Red Steel Rovograd against International Dara.
-The scholar year ended once more and students enter happily in th summer holiday.
-The national summer camp for karate Kyokushin practitioners is going to be held in the Venus Hill Station. The shihan invited this year is shihan Satoshi Yui and shihan Midori Kenji. Every club in the country and in the adjacent states are invited.

Councilors elected Admiral Alexander Vasilievich to be the new Premier for life

Late this night ,the council of prefects met to discuss the election of a new Premier. There were 3 notable candidates :
-Vladimir Malenkov ,CEO of the National Petroleum corporation :
-Alexander Vasilievich ,Admiral and Supreme Commander of The Gorno-Altai Naval Forces
-Ion Antonescu ,Marshal of The People's Liberation Army
After a 8 hour meeting the councilors elected Admiral Alexander Vasilievich for the post of Premier of The People's Democratic Republic.

"I'm glad to be elected as the new ruler of the country and to show the people that the old communist regime has ended the old People's Republic will be changed to The National Republic of Gorno-Altai."
"I did not come to power to divide Altaians but to unite them, and I will never deviate from this path. I shall respect a Altaic individual as long as he deserves respect, but if he turns away from the correct path, then that is not my business." (Parts of the speech of the new Premier Alexander Vasilievich)
"Today we sent 1 motorized and 1 tank division th help the nation of Freiheit to defend itself from the neoimperialists of Greater Sarmatia "

Constitutional Velvet Revolution makes Gorno-Altai a truly democratic country

Today the petiton to the government has made Alexander Vasilievich resign because of the political scandal from the Frei-Sarmatian war. The constitution made the country a semi-presidential republic. The people are awaited to vote their new government and president this Sunday. We are expecting that the liberal candidate, Vladimir Oltin and the socialist candidate, Andrei Denikin will the majority of the people's votes. Until now we don't know who will win the election but anything can happen in this weekend.


In other titles
-This saturday is the day of the first ALL WORLD OPEN KARATE TOURNAMENT. The fighters from Makai Islands, Freeiheit and Gorno-Altai and the spectators are waited in Victoria Hall in Rovograd. Entrance is free.
-With the change of government our alliance with Freiheit has been nullified. Nevertheless, the people are expecting that the government will help the country with Humanitarian Aid and with volunteers.

The Socialists win the election

Today the people has elected the very first time in Gorno-Alataian history. The Democrat-Socialist party won the election with 67% of the electorate votes. The representative of the Socialist party, Andrei Denikin was elected the new Premier of the country.

Modernization program of the NPPs

The Andrey Andropov NPP Căciuleşti
The modernization program has started in Gorno-Altai. Five Nuclear Power Plants Have been selected to be modernized in the next 15 years. The government stated that they will not include the Ceahlau Nuclear Power Plant even if it's the oldest nuclear plant in Gorno-Altai.
"We don't have the money needed for the modernization of a nuclear power plant that has 6 RBMK-1000 reactors. We don't have enough money to do modernize all the five NPPs at once, but when some of the 5 NPPs will be functional again, we will export electric energy in the war thorn Freiheit and in the other neighbouring countries."
The Nuclear Power Plants selected for this program are:
-Andrey Andropov Nuclear Power Plant Căciuleşti
-Vladimir Filatov Nuclear Power Plant Feldru
-The People's Freedom Nuclear Power Plant Domoko
-Pepenialev Nuclear Power Plant Rovograd
-Miron Cristea Nuclear Power Plant Videmagrad
Those were five of the six NPPs in Gorno Altai. All of them have 2 reactors with the exception of Andrey Andropov NPP who has 3 reactors.

-National Revolution Day is approaching
The People's Liberation Army and the Red Guards start from today to make exercises in order to have a perfect military parade in the capital, Altaisk. The Parades are a tradition in The National Day starting from 1922 till today in the Altaic society. The people are directed to other roads because the Uniunii Boulevard has been closed in order to exercise the marches. All the Red Guards, gendarmes, Policemen, firemen, and the Altaisk garrison will take part in the parade. It is expected that Premier Denikin will present a speech to the population about our society, history, politics and economic growth. May the revolution started 90 years ago accomplish it's objectives.
-Government nationalizes all factories
Today Premier Denikin set a motion that proclaims the nationalization of all the factories in Gorno-Altai.
"In order to make Gorno-Altai a truly socialist country me must make concessions. The People's Assembly chose to nationalize the factories and industry in the country to get rid of the foreign corporations in the country and give the people their right to rule their own country". Commented today Premier Denikin.

Today, to commemorate the start of the revolution, the Adevărul de Altaisk journal introduces a new column about the revolution and the first months of the People's Democratic Republic.

International News

-Oil Crisis puts in halt half of Gorno-Altai's National Airline routes. The people in the airports are rerouted to the railstations to take the train. All the non-electrified rails will be closed in order to save the repaining oil the country has.
The government urges the Talemantine Empire to stop the embargo on Belmont.
-The People's Assembly has today issued a decree in wich the Democratic Republic of Gorno-Altai recognisez the Republic of Jurzan.

A special column in wich we present you the history of Gorno-Altai from the downfall of Monarchy to the Socialist Revolution.

1916-1917:
The Tzardom of Gorno-Altai was a ghost of the past. The old proud monarchy is nothing more than a grave on wich the new monarchy stands. The newly elected Tzar is just a puppet for the triumvirate of Generals formed by Ion Antonescu Iosif Poenaru and Vladimir Yeltsin who ruled the country. The triumvirs had little to no popularity in the country. Even with the new reforms in education they proclaimed the people was starving and had nothing to do but hope to live another day so they may see the light and have a better life.And so our tale starts.

1916
January:
In 1915 the new Tzar, Alexandr V has a tour of the world to visit the countries who still haven't recognised him as a Tzar of Gorno-Altai. In this month Alexandr was visiting the last for the countries in the tour, the Empire of Freiheit.
February:
The Triumvirs proclamed the educational reforms to make the people to like them, but the people didn't had the problems they tried to resolve.
June:
The Workers from the Great Northern Plant started a petition in wich they were pleading for a more democratic government.
August:
The Petition had reached about 250,000 signes and they were heading to the imperial Palace in Alexagrad (todays Altaisk)to give the petition to the Tzar. Unfortunately, Alexandr wasn't there and general Poenaru ordered the soldiers to fire at the mob. 350 men and 285 women were killed and about 16,000 were wounded.
October:
The strikes went on and in all the cities the people were ready to take the gun and start the revolution.
November:
To apease the population, General Averescu and Yeltsin declared the soldiers from the castle and general Poenaru traitors and then executed Poenaru by firing squad. He was buried in a mass grave along with the other soldiers.
December:
General Yeltsin is found dead in his room. It is suspected that he was killed by a revolutionary.

1917:
After the massacre of Altaisk, the people was bent to kill the triumvirs and change the country into a democratic republic through revolution. In November Averescu and Yeltsin declared Poenaru a traitor and executed him. Even if the people started to think that a revolution isn't necessary, they were still starving. Meanwhile the Empire of Freiheit invited the population to emigrate. Tzar Alexandr was against immigration and emigration. He though that if a people was born in a country they should stay in that country. And so the soldiers started killing the people who tried to cross the border.

January:
With the death of general Yeltsin, the country was in dismay. There were strikes in every factory in the country.
February:
The first revolution. General Averescu is disposed and executed as a traitor.
March:
Gorno-Altai is declared a constitutional monarchy ruled by Tzar Alexandr V.
October:
Economic reforms are made in Gorno-Altai by Tzar Alexandr V

-Explosion at a maternity. 4 kids dead and 3 gravely wounded.
A bomb exploded today in the Vitan Maternity, killing 4 children and gravely wounding another 3. The Service of Protection and Information, informally known as Securitatea started today an investigation to find out who did this terrorist attack. The bomb was situated in the intensive therapy section. In that section were 25 children from which were saved 18. Four were killed in the explosion and other three are in grave situation in the hospital. There were mobilised around 70 firefighters to save all tho people who were in the hospital. The government sends his condolences to the families of the killed children.
-The Church, a business? The priest, a manager?
A few days ago, in a inspection, led by the Grăniceri social council, shown that the church is a business. The local priest takes all the money from the services of the church:baptism, funerals and weddings. When he was asked where were the money, he answered: "They are mine. I'm the manager of the church and the money are mine." In response to this, the government ordered a investigation on the churches in the country and the arrest of those managers.

1918-1919:
After the downfall of the triumvirate, and the first revolution, Gorno-Altai is proclaimed as a Constitutional Monarchy. It is silence,for now.

1918:
January:After the Economic Reforms instituted by Alexandr V, the private businesses started to appear. The communists are disgusted by the way Gorno-Altai modernized itself.
June:
The anarchists take hostage the government. To get rid of all his enemies, the Tzar ordered the troops to enter the building. The anarchists knew that they will be killed, so they killed the people held hostage.
July:
Gorno-Altai, again a absolute monarchy.
November:
The Anarchist coup d'etat. Gorno-Altai declare a Free State and Alexandr V killed by firing squad.
1919:
January:
Communist uprising. Start of the civil war between the Black Army and the Red Amy.
July:
Coastal Gorno-Altai occupied by the "blacks" and the Altaic Heartland occupied by the "reds".
August:
Start of the Battle of Altaisk.
October:
The End of The Battle of Altaisk. The anarchist army is disbanded and the communist party takes control of Gorno Altai.
1920:
April:
The Altaic Workers Party declares Gorno-Altai a Democratic Republic

-The investigation of the Vitan Maternity Explosion Continues

The police and SSPI arrested 10 nurses today. The police says that those nurses celebrated a birthday when the explosion was set and all of them were the first to ran from the hospital instead of helping he children. A few days ago the carbonized remains of the children were buried in the Heroes of the Revolution cemetery. Along with the parents and the families of the dead kids, The Secretary of Finances and Internal Administration Radu Sebastian and The Secretary of Public Health Nestor Kiseleff participated to the funerals to show solidarity to the people.

International News
-Martin Contreras came today in Altaisk to discuss with the Premier.
Today the plane from the Ascaloni Government landed today in the Andrey Andropov International Airport Altaisk. From the plane came Martin Contreras who was led by a SSPI convoy to the Victoria Palace to met the Premier Denikin and Prim-Secretary Dincă.

-The Catholic church of Altai selected today a candidate for the Conclave
Bishop Arsenie Daniel, born in 1940 was chosen today by the church to be a candidate for the conclave. Arsenie Daniel was born in 5 September 1940 in a small farm of the Altaisk Agricultural Sector, now called the Altaisk Metropolitan Area. He went to the Theological School and High School in Altaisk and then he went to the Arts University, Icon Section. He became a bishop in 1980. From 1990 to 2005 the bishop was arrested by the fascist regime because he was "a threat to the republic's stability". When he was set free he was dismissed from his position and campaigned, rallying the catholic and orthodox churches against the government campaign against clericalism. In 2009, when the right-wing republic was disbanded he became a bishop again and now 70 years later from his arrive to this world he is a candidate of the conclave
