Declaration of the Kingdom of Østveg

Fellow countrymen,
Three months have passed since the death of our beloved Haakon V. No real statement has been issued by the subsequent Kingdom nor the Kingdom that had found itself established against the common conventions of royal succession. The threat of civil war has loomed over the hearts and minds of the Nords for nearly fifty days, a threat which has consumed the world and all the nations who reside around the sea we call our own, the Gothic Sea. It is my distinct pleasure and privilege to express the progress of our crisis, and it is as I trust, a reasonably satisfactory and encouraging result. I offer high hopes for the future, yet no definitive prediction in regard to the path we shall now venture. This journey I believe is one that now the Nords can distinctly walk upon, as a decision was made by the armed forces to engage in an operation to seize control of the Hammerfest Parliamentary body and bring them into custody.
I have spent the previous hours on the telephone with Admiral Braaten and General Løvenskiold of the Kingdom of Agderike's military, as they have given me the utmost assurances that our plan was well conceived and just. The outright success of our operation and objective is what brings me to the nation and subsequently the world to give birth to our new Kingdom, and with it our new Crown. A nation that is not only bound to the people who secured it, but obligated to the liberties of the men and women who defined it. Our Kingdom holds itself to become the first of its kind, as our people have sought out to shape a new Kingdom, one in absence of tyrants and before all a monarchy in which was not derivative of power from God, but an expression of the consent of the people themselves, and that this Kingdom be held accountable to those people and their welfare.
I do declare that civil war has been averted. All have dreaded it, all have sought to avert it. Although both parties held firm and one of them would rather drive our people to a deprecated conflict rather than let our Kingdom survive, yet no ills are placed upon those of contrary opinion, no judgement made, for our peace is to be made with God and our nation can only answer to best hopes of man and woman. With the world's eye upon us, we have not shined as bright as that polar star that we should so much treasure. However our actions shall be held to the rightful annuals of men, and rather than accept a war in which we all may perish, we have avoided such folly and secured our new birth right. A place in the stars for which that an Austwegian star may shine and a rightful place to stand among equals. With malice towards none, and charity for all, with the firmness in the right as God has so given me the ability to see what is right, let me iterate that we must strive so much for that equality that God has given us as this right is not granted without sacrifice.
It is as your equal, as your Queen, your mother, that the wealth of love I can bestow upon all of my countrymen in my proclamation of the Free and Indivisible Kingdom of Østveg as the only legitimate Government in which this former Kingdom of Agderike once stood upon. Our experiment of government that could not be denied for the people but also by the people, in which I as your Queen can only support, and only confirm as the official Government for the Nords.
The fruits of our harvest cannot be seen until we first plant the seeds of our new democracy and it is in that belief that our elections must commence with irrevocable haste with the guidance of our new Constitution, as so approved by the democracy that was left in place by the spiritual lead of those who brought upon the ideals of liberty and justice before us. It is this libertarian pact with God that guides us forward, and cannot be denied by the foreign efforts of many, but guided and nurtured by the people who seize it, for none of what cannot be given, cannot be denied, as here as we stand in the halls of Kings past, that our new liberty bless us with freedom for the Nords at least!
