The deal is complete. Every piece of equipment has been schedueled for delivery, inspected, assembled, and will soon be fully operational. After months of negotiations and planning, everything arrived as expected, and the transition to active service has gone smoothly.
The 5 Aurora X-40 E-3 Multi-Role Fighter jets have been tested, with pilots, ground crew and mechanics finishing their training. Avionics, weapons systems, and airframe integrity all passed final inspections. Their IRIS-T and AIM-12 missiles are securely stored, and ground crews have already begun loading. The G-90 Transport and Tanker Plane has performed its first operational refueling flight, proving its capability when OTW Pilots flew from Sydstadt Air Base (F-3 Sydstadt) in the southern part of Istavania all the way to Ordo. Later, the 5 H-60 attack helicopters flew from Danstadt Air Base (F-1 Danstadt) after having undergone weapons and targeting system testing, with pilots already flying their first combat drills further improving the capabilities of The OTW Air-Force. They would accompany the UdonHush3 and the HMS Thorstadt.
In the port of Thorsvik in Sydland County, Istavania, was the OTW cargo ship UdonHush3 loaded with a lot of equipment for The OTW Army. The cargo ship was escorted by 1 of the 6 Novus M-15 Grönby-class Stealth-Corvettes (K-35 HMS Thorstadt in this case) from the 31st Corvette-Flotilla part of The 3rd Surface-warfare Flotilla of The 3rd Naval Batallion (M-3 Thorsvik).
The Istav-Navy corvette for actual protection if need arises to engage enemies and an Istav Air-Force helicopter (H-14) for submarine hunting via sonar escorted the cargo vessel. The Istav H-14 and the OTW Air-force H-60's, all of them were refueled via the helicopter deck of HMS Thorstadt, one at a time. The almost 4,000km journey took 5 days as the usually fast HMS Thorstadt had to match the UdonHush3's lower speed. Needing to not be spotted of the Azilian coast, the Grönby-class with its stealth was chosen to escort the cargo vessel and if spotted, the corvette has missiles for submarine warfare, surface combat and thanks to the recent MLU, now even air defense capabilities. There are a lot of countermeasures as well, very impressive for this soon-to-be 19 year old corvette. This was all about not being spotted. The Istav Navy and Air-Force kept communicating with the OTW forces throughout the whole journey.
Now they had arrived and while high ranking officials shook hands and greeted each other, the personnel got to work unloading all equipment and vehicles, but before that, the OTW Army personnel together with specialized Aurora technicians and Istav Army personnel did one final inspection of all the equipment before unloading everything and some vehicles would be driven, others would be transported by truck and most by train. Before departure on the way back home, HMS Thorstadt refueled to complete the journey home while fully armed. On the ground, the 10 Aurora XP APC's and 10 Aurora T-3 articulated tracked vehicles were being delivered to their units. Operators had already completed their training, covering mobility, maintenance, and tactical deployment.
The coastal radar installations, 2 871-E and 2 640-E structures had already been assembled on-site without delays. Engineers ensured all systems were operational, and the facilities are now fully functional. Meanwhile the 1,000 AK-5 assault rifles and 4 M84-T recoilless rifles have been handed over to units, with troops cycling through weapons training and live-fire exercises.
Later that same day, both the OTW-Navy’s Novus M-20 Patrol vessels that were anchored near Havnborg, started sailing all the way to Ordo City, fully armed. The Istav Navy personnel on land and the OTW Navy personnel about to sail saluted one last time. They made their was through the Grønøy strait and to the Gothic Sea before passing through the sound and leaving Scania. Just like it was for the the Istavanian corvette, the siren sea was the most dangerous part of the journey, the OTW Navy wasn’t an exception. They made it through safely and 4 days later both vessels safely arrived in Ordo city greeted by military personnel and excited civilians. There are over 120,000 personnel in the OTW armed forces across all branches so this isn’t a complete replacement or a complete modernization but rather partially and slowly modernizing and growing the military of OTW. The deal was well worth it!”
