We find these accusations by the Imperial State of Sikandara to be unjust and unfounded. There are no "harsh measures" being taken by the Grand Duchy towards your state, but simply a review of the economic ties between our two nations. This is being done with many nations besides yours, and these are only with wheat imports. There is nothing else being taken against other imports and contracts. Our government has likewise explained publicly that the rumors regarding the connection between this economic review and actions taken against Potenzan businesses in Sikandara.

The Council of Diplomatic Affairs

This office would like to inform its counterpart in Potenza that explanations being offered by its representatives in Shahdara are not satisfactory to the Imperial Government.

There is overwhelming evidence that the Grand Duchy is conducting a political attack on Sikandari economic partnerships and arrangements with domestic firms, as retribution for the denial of Potenzan support for the construction of the Faisal Dam. The Imperial Government takes note of the less than accurate responses by the Potenzan representative in Shahdara and announces the following:

1. The Imperial Government, under direct orders from His Illustrious Majesty The Emperor, Mir Bahadur II, has withdrawn the Imperial Ambassador to San Salvo. The Embassy of Sikandara, which is now being downgraded to a Consulate, is to continue its operations on a limited level.

2. Under the same Imperial decree, the Potenzan ambassador is expelled from Shahdara

3. The Imperial Government will re-open its diplomatic buildings upon the reasonable solution of the issue concerned.

My government has instructed me, as my final duty, to notify the government of Sikandara that the Grand Duchy is not pleased with your government's handling of this affair, and in consequence, all ties - diplomatic and economic - are hereby ended between our two nations.

Shahdara, Sikandara
