SIRAAMA - Sinese Moral Police, the Tamruat Tham, today continued operations against vagrants and prostitutes within the outer slums of the capital. The popular policing campaign, targeted against elements of society which are known to increase crime, began on Monday and has shown success in the days since. Moral Officer Apichart Paireerak stated that operations would intensify over the weekend to ensure the citizenry of the Empire that actions are being taken to remove the stain on society.

While laws banning vagrancy and prostitution have existed for several decades, enforcement of the policies have had limited success. However, in recent months the Imperial Unity Clique has pushed for harsher action in the Imperial Assembly, successfully pressuring Imperial Police to take action. Vagrants and prostitutes face penalties including fines as high as 100,000฿ and penal labor.

Critics of the Vagrancy and Prostitution bans have claimed that numerous killings have been made during the course of recent arrests, with more radical accusers claiming the death toll may be as high as 20. However, insufficient evidence has been presented and Imperial Police have not found sufficient cause to order Tamruat Tham to cease actions.

SIRAAMA - Government officials have released the 2010 crime summary, including detailed statistics describing notable increases and decreases. While crimes such as sedition and theft have fallen notably, government officials have expressed concern over a shocking figure. Homosexuality has increased by an alarming 11%, and vagrancy has increased by over 18% in the past 5 years. The number of crimes committed by vagrants and homosexuals has also tripled over the past decade.

Following the results of the decade long social survey, lawmakers in Siraama are expected to pass legislation which will severely punish repeat offenders, with particular emphasis being put on penalizing vagrancy. Public complaints concerning panhandling and thuggish behavior by vagrants have weighed heavily upon lawmakers and security forces alike.

As Saturday ends, police forces throughout the Empire have begun operations designed to uproot suspected tent cities and abandoned housing units in an attempt to arrest vagrants and squatters. Some members of the public have expressed concerns pertaining to the cost of the public safety operations, but officials say that costs will be kept to a minimum.

While extending a benefit of doubt that there are no ethical concerns to worry of in Sinhai, Cantigny must inquire as to the whereabouts of uprooted 'vagrants' throughout the Empire. To this end, Cantigny humbly asks that Sinhai puts the public's mind at peace by producing credible evidence that detained persons are not being significantly mistreated. There is a clear and concise initiative taking place in Sinhai to enforce copacetic cityscapes - which we in Cantigny would never seek to impede - but human beings cannot be recycled or swept under the rug as easily as material waste.

We patiently await a genuine response to this inquiry. Let this be an indicator that trust is a viable option for our two nations. When so many nation states resort to thinly veiled lies, a sacred few must uphold credibility and humanity above all.

SIRAAMA - A Imperial Sinese Air Force jet crashed today outside of the city of Adabat. The fighter, a Kyivan MiG-29 by design, crashed when the pilot attempted to undergo acrobatic maneuvers at high speeds. Military sources say that the fighter was undergoing dissimilar air combat training exercises designed to test the Empire's pilots in the combat capability of foreign aircraft. The pilot of the MiG-29, which is not equipped with a standard fly-by-wire system, was unable to handle high agility maneuvers at high speeds, and was forced to eject when the craft stalled.

Training exercises conducted by Imperial fighter pilots have become a common sight near the city of Adabat, which is the location of the Empire's premier flying academy. Sources within the military point to "inferior designs" as the principle source of problems with the MiG-29, and emphasize that Imperial fighter pilots receive the best training in the hemisphere.

"The fact that the MiG-29 could not handle intensive maneuvers against Imperial fighters is a testament to the strength of the ISAF, not the incapabilities of its pilots," said a spokesperson for the Imperial Sinese Air Force.

The pilots, whose name has yet to be released by the ISAF, successfully ejected from the aircraft and was not severely injured. The jet fighter crash landed into a rice paddy near a rural village, and no one was injured.

SIRAAMA - The government has announced plans to forcibly remove prisoners from temporary penal camps established in the wake of a large-scale anti-vagrancy campaign launched over the weekend. Two hundred and eighteen vagrants, prostitutes, and homosexuals are being relocated to a cargo container vessel known as the MV Tukka Tor.

The Emperor has waived the prisoners trials and approved a plan which will deport these criminals to countries with less savory moral appetites. "The Emperor believes that these prisoners cannot be rehabilitated and made into worthy subjects, and has decreed that, instead of becoming a burden on the Empire, they should be sent to a nation which does not share the moral principles or convictions of the Empire," stated an aide working for the Ministry of the Imperial Househould. The two hundred and eighteen prisoners have previously been tried and found guilty for similar crimes, and have been classified as chronic offenders.

The IHN Tukka Tor is set to be sent to Carentanian ports where it will deliver the cargo and return home. According to the Emperor's wishes, the people will be stripped of their citizenship upon leaving Imperial sovereign waters so as to prevent their return.

One cannot begin to imagine the atrocities experienced in this Government sponsored human trafficking scheme, but many will surely begin to learn when a proper investigation in to this unnecessary fiasco is undertaken. In response, Cantigny promises to enforce the expensive process of inspecting each and every shipping container incoming through homeland port authorities from Sinhai. SIRAAMA - The Carentanian embassy has become a source of tension within the capital, as protesters gather outside the structure demanding the release of Sinese sailors sent on a mission to release prisoners who would otherwise be executed under Sinese law.

The protesters chanted for the release of prisoners, and called for a government response in kind. Some more violent groups have demanded revenge should the Carentanians take Sinese citizens to court under foreign law.

"If they want to use innocent Sinese civilians as weapons in a political war, then we will respond the same," stated Assemblyman Dinh, Imperial Unity Clique. However, the Imperial Assembly has yet to consider possibilities for retaliation. The Emperor has also refused to speak on the situation.

Authorities have cautioned against protester activism within the Empire, encouraging Sinese citizens to take their frustrations against the Carentanians to the web. "The world is a free society, let them know that we are not the irrational, mindless beasts the Communists would like to portray us as," suggests CEO of EBlogger, Champei Khoeun. Multiple blogs have already been created over the issue, which has served thus far only to funnel the collective anti-Communist opinions of the population.

The United Territories of Akwesasne finds it deplorable that such an event has taken place involving innocent civilian Sinese sailors as a scenario of political gain from the part of the Carentanians. The words of the government of Akwesasne weigh heavy, as it marks its government complete departure from the established standards of international law and human rights. What Sinhai did to the many hundred citizens it forcefully deported to a foreign country and stripped of their citizenship was in violation of both, and the Sinhese sailors have been arrested in sovereign Carentanian territory on the suspicion of participation with these criminal acts.

Perhaps the government of Akwesasne may clarify to us, what kind of law it is, they find the Workers' Republic has violated in this case.

Using innocent people in a sailors' vessel for political reasons, we would clarify to the Carentanian government, is a high enough law to be borken. These sailors should be given back to the Sinese and face the consequences according to their own laws instead of being held captive in Carentania.

It is established procedure within the realm of international law, that people are firstly not considered the property of a nationstate and can thus not be "given back" to another nationstate, and that secondly, since they are individuals granted with a free will, they are likewise responsible for their actions and can be tried according to the laws of the country they entered. The sailors were within sovereign Carentanian territory during their arrest, Carentania thus broke no international or national law and acted in accordance with established and respected principles of national sovereignity.

We will remind Akwesasne of its stance in this matter the next time it tries to bring foreign nationals within its country to a court.

SIRAAMA - The Emperor today recognized legislation put forward by the Imperial Assembly that would denounce Carentanian actions as "double standards", and call for a peaceful and beneficial solution to an unnecessary problem that sought to undermine peace in a world already tense with battles between ideologies.

"The Carentanians claim that they acted in defense of their nations sovereignty by seizing the MV Tukka Tor in sovereign waters. However, they chose to ignore the sovereign right the flag state maintains over the jurisdiction of crimes over a ship flying it's flag. If a crime was committed above the Tukka Tor that evidence should be presented to Sinese officials for prosecution, as it is not the Carentanians sovereign right to pursue justice aboard a Sinese vessel," stated spokesman for the Imperial Household Ditaka Sriphung. "Likewise, we would expect Carentanians to exercise the same jurisdiction over their vessels regardless of where on the planet they are located."

"We wish to cease this dispute before further tensions arise," he continued, suggesting that the Imperial Assembly was in further talks as to how to handle the situation should it continue. Protests have continued outside of the Carentanian embassy, where police continue to monitor the crowd.

The dispute between Sinhai and Carentania began with the seizure of the MV Tukka Tor on March 3rd, which was carrying depatriated criminals of the Empire to a neutral state under the impression that the lifestyle they maintained would be more acceptable. Carentanian officials boarded and seized the merchant vessel upon it's entrance into their territorial waters and arrested the crew, and is currently investigating into alleged rape and torture, a policy not condoned by the Imperial Merchant Marine and punishable by revocation of insurance by Imperial P&I Clubs under clauses pertaining to international law and the treatment of prisoners at sea; in addition to civil and criminal law suites filed against individuals.

The notion that crimes against international law that are committed on orders of a foreign nationstate can not be persecuted by a nation within its sovereign territory is an absolutely ridiciulous one. We are, however, willing to negotiations, though we have to remind Sinhai that we can not interfere against the intentions of local workers' councils responsible for the trials of the sailors, as we are bound to the legal proceedings of our constitution.

We wish to inquire as to what international law was broken, as we are unaware of any which regulate the deportation of citizens of a nation state, nor are we aware of an international law which prevents a nationstate from exercising it's sovereign right to determine it's own national law. The Empire of Sinhai in no way violated the dignity or personal well-being of the prisoners in question - indeed their very lives were spared by their expulsion.

The Empire is willing to submit to negotiations mediated by a third party agreeable to both the Empire and Worker's Republic; however if amnesty and trials in a third party court are out of the question, then negotiations are not necessary.
