Government Debates Refugee Reform
The growing number of refugees fleeing across the border to escape the conflict in Yujin has increasingly caused greater concern for the bureaucrats in Khon Kaen. Since the beginning of the Yujiner conflict two years ago people of Yujin have sought shelter in Sri Siva to escape the harsh fighting in the world's most populous nation. Border villages have been inundated by the refugees causing locals to seek help from the government in managing the growing crisis, forcing the Bureau of Internal Affairs to step in and create many refugee camps.

These refugee camps have given some semblance of order to the chaos that is spilling over from Yujin. However, these camps are not in the best of states with some camps lacking some basic functions. Adung Klinpraneet, Administrator of Internal Affairs, has called for increasing funding for the camps but, has faced some criticism in the Senate, especially after the Justice Bureau had to send in the Tamruat Tham [SUP](Morality Police)[/SUP] the special forces of the State Police was called in to suppress crime rates.

The refugees in Sri Siva have put pressure on the Kingdom's stance of neutrality concerning the war and the governments ties to the Yujiner Imperial Government. The war and the resulting refugees situation has also begun to effect the economic situation of the nation with people fearing its proximity to the conflict. However, Administrator Klinpraneet believes that with the funding increases will allow his Bureau to administer the camps in a more efficient way that will promote safety and encourage economic development.

Others argue that the nation should not deviate from its long standard focus of growing and feeding the economy and then security. "If Sri Siva want to become a global economic leader, then economic growth should be our singular focus." argued Senator Sup Pibul during a Senate debate. A vote on the funding is expected later this week.

IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT OF SIKANDARA
COUNCIL FOR DIPLOMACY

OPEN STATEMENT

The Imperial Government commends the efforts of the Sri Sivan Government to control the administration of refugee camps. The situation in Yujin is a regional tragedy and a problem that must be addressed by the neighboring states as a collective.

We are open to a possibility of engaging with our southern allies on developing a regional policy on coping with refugees from the crises that have recently engulfed our region.

The stakes in this war which have raged for two years now increasingly concerns us as well, especially since it seams there is going to be no end. We wish to work together and to find a peace that can last in Touyou. This crisis must be brought to an end for not only Yujin, but for all nations.

Sivanese Bank Purchases Mergognard Bank
President of Putrie National Bank, Somchai Beaulieu, announced a deal for Putrie National Bank to fully acquire Mergognard bank, Première Banque de Marchands (First Merchants' Bank). President Beaulieu has been working for the past few months with the leaders of First Merchants' and the Mergognard authorities to finalize the deal.

Beaulieu, of Sivanese-Mergognard ancestry, hailed this moved into the Mergognard markets as a shining move for Putrie National to begin to stamp itself out into the international financial markets. Putrie National is one of the largest banks in Sri Siva and First Merchants' Banks is a prominent bank in Mergogne, but not one of their major banks. This acquisition continues the partnership between Sri Siva and Mergogne since the first contact between the two nations centuries ago opened up Sri Siva to the western world.

Sri Siva continues to expand its economic presence not only with its traditional Gallan trade partners of Mergogne and the Engellexic Empire, but with other nations around the globe.

Military Mobilization Ordered Over Yujin
Today following the events in Sinhai, the Bureau of War ordered the mobilization of the Royal Armed Forces. The complete escalation of the Yujiner Civil War, especially in areas along the Sivanese-Yujin border, has caused many in the highlands to call for more military security in the region and nation wide. The newly declared independence of Xinhai, which Khon Kaen has refused to recognize, the revolt of the Southlands, use of chemical weapons in the North East, and foreign involvement by non-Touyou forces and now Sikandara. The Sikandari intervention has further flamed fears across Sri Siva that the civil war will engulf all of Touyou, first Vangala and now Sikandara, and that Sri Siva is next and its is only a matter of time before the wars jumps our border.

Intervention by Sri Siva, is becoming increasingly popular on all sides of the political spectrum as the right wants to intervene on the side of the Emperor and the left wants to intervene on the side of the Hongmenghui. The Social-Progress Party, a leftist party among Sri Siva's native Yujiner population, has been reportedly sending funds to the Hongmenghui. It has been rumored that the majority of the Senate are in favor of intervention and also among the Chancellory members, but that King Arthit V has refused to authorize any military actions.

It is unknown, as internal pressure on the king mounts, if or when the royal authorities will allow for military action in Yujin, but the Kingdom of Sri Siva is readying itself to either defend itself or invade.

The Imperial Government is viewing the situation in southern Yujin with great concern. We seek to engage in discussions with the Sivanese Government to determine the situation and possible avenues for cooperation between our two states.

The People's Republic of Vangala warns the autocrats in Sikandara and Sri Siva that any attempt to reverse the historic gains of the Sinhese people will be met with the strongest reaction of the Vangalan government and military.

Any attempt to support the Empire of Yujins defense against Vangalan counter-attacks and to intervene in the current war in aid of the Empire will be perceived by Carentania as a declaration of war.
