The Imperial Government, under the leadership of Chancellor Suleymani, is not surprised that the Kilkila clique has had to hide behind the assurances and affirmations of the Carentanian Government thus proving to the world, yet again, that the Kilkila clique has no legitimacy with the people of Vangala and rules the country by the threat of force and with the blessing of far-flung foreign powers. The question of reparations is besides the point. This Imperial State seeks the immediate imposition of peace in these lands and finds these preconditions to be suspicious and serving to only delay the cessation of hostilities. Additionally, we must remind the two governments that we did not threaten the Vangalan country with aggressive conflict, simply a declaration that Sikandara could, and would, defend itself if a breach of sovereignty occurred on the shared frontier with Vangala. As a sovereign state, Sikandara reserves the right to defend itself and its territorial integrity, which stands threatened as we do not believe the Kilkila clique has any ability to control its legion of degenerates along their border with us. Though to compare Our nation with Yujin is a quite ridiculous, the only reason for "victory" is that Vangala's communist forces faced an enemy without any organisation or cohesion. Sikandara is strong and is united. If Vangala or its puppet-master were foolish enough to attack this nation in any form or way, they shall be taught a lesson that shall echo through the annals of history. Sikandara does not need to hide behind its allies to effectively and forcefully defend itself. And let this be a warning to Carentania: Be wise and refrain from meddling in regional affairs, lest the interference provoke a reaction from the Lion of Touyou, which would only harm Carentania. The close relationship that Vangala and Carentania enjoy rests on feelings of international solidarity between two socialist nations. To claim Vangala is subservient to Carentania is a pathetic attempt by Sikandara to undermine revolutionary bonds.

Sikandara has no genuine interest in regional peace. Fearful of its continued existence, as one Oriental Despot totters, Sikandara is desperately seeking an excuse to justify action against the People's Republic of Vangala, whose achievements continue to inspire hope in the hearts of the Sikandari masses.

Existence of the mass graves has been demonstrated by photographic evidence provided by the Vangalan People's Armed Forces to various international media outlets. Potenzan investigators interested in the crimes committed by the Yujiner Imperial Army can study these photographs.

We also add our support to Vangala in its caution towards entreaties by Potenza and Fennia, two autocratic states who both have more in common with the Yujin Empire than they do with Vangala and its citizens or their needs.

Carentanian presence in the region can confirm Vangalan reports of Yu atrocities committed over the course of the Imperial assaults on the Vangalan nation and people. We can furthermore only echo the concerns of the Vangalan government, that an active warzone is indeed not any place for foreign observers and non-military personnel. Demands for such investigations and even assurances by the Potenzan government, that it could deploy security personnel - whatever shape of deployment that may imply - greatly underestimate the chaos wrecked upon the region by the Imperial Yu invasion.

We furthermore feel that Vangala has any right to be insulted by the accusation raised against it. Even the mere demand for "neutral investigations" reveals an imperialist double-standard, which would not be applied to Vangala were it not for the skin-color of its citizens. Carentania will certainly remind Potenza of its own perceived need for "neutral investigations" the next time a crime is committed against Potenzan citizens.

Finally, Carentania will perceive any further statements implying a Vangalan involvement in the murder of its own citizens - a thoroughly preposterous and scandalous accusation - to be an insult against the Workers' Republic itself. We consider the Vangalan people our brethren and comrades and we have certainly not chosen them as our friends on a whim. Doubting the Vangalans means an insult to Carentanias good judgement.

Vangala releases more photographs of mass graves

The People's Republic of Vangala has released more photographic evidence of mass graves in the country's south-eastern regions, following international pressure to allow foreign scrutiny of the massacre sites. The People's Republic of Vangala alleges responsibility for the massacres lies with the invading Yujiner Imperial Army, and claims entire villages were executed for resisting the Yujiner offensive. The Empire of Yujin has rejected the accusations, and instead blamed Vangalan Communist forces for the mass murders.

However the People's Republic of Vangala is still refusing to allow foreign investigators near the mass graves, which has been the demand of a number of countries, most prominently the Grand Duchy of Potenza. Vangalan National Defence Minister Nurul Banerjee cited security concerns in his reasoning for preventing outside access to the sites, with fighting still ongoing between Yujin and Vangala.

Foreign journalists were recently allowed into the People's Republic of Vangala for the first time since the Revolution and war with Yujin. However, they are restricted to the port-city of Chattananga and the capital Kilkila, and rely on information given by Vangalan government officials for reporting.

Vangalan External Affairs Minister Ajoy Qamaruzzaman has told reporters that the Vangalan government will not comment any further on the matter, and expressed disappointment with the suspicions of the international community, stating he hoped the first set of photographs would have convinced many countries to take action against Yujin.

Carentania and Havenshire, Vangala's two closest allies, have spoken out in support of the claims made by Vangala, and Carentania has confirmed the existence of mass graves. Carentania and Havenshire are both believed to have a military presence in Vangala, the extent and size of which is unknown.

The Standing Committee is abhorred by the state violence orchestrated by Vangala and Yujin. If anything, the crimes being perpetrated on both sides of the border are a direct result of the delegationist state system. While under the current conditions it might be realistically impossible to discern the exact criminals in this specific case, there is no doubt that incidents like this one will repeat themselves as long as the anachronistic regimes in Kilkila and Xiang still hold sway. Emancipation from the errors of statehood is an urgent necessity - only then will the killing end and peace prevail, as the toilers have no interest in casting away their lives for petty myths once they freed themselves from the controlling influence of their masters.

Jean-Baptiste Chevalier forms new Montelimarian government in exile in Würzburg

Jean-Baptiste Chevalier of the center-right United Montelimar party has formed a new government of Montelimar in exile together with the social democratic Party for Social Freedom, the Liberal Center Front and the right-national Royal Union, a press release by the newly constituted "Government of National Unity and Liberation" stated today. According to the statement, Chevalier would become "the new Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Montelimar of a national government that will preside over Montelimarian affairs until a new constitution and government can be created through the free will of the Montelimarian people."

Chevalier, who was mayor of the southern coastal town of Vannes before the war between Montelimar and Engellex in 1951, said that the formation of the Government of National Unity and Liberation was a "milestone in uniting the Montelimarian diaspora", creating "urgently needed structures in the political opposition to Engellexian occupation." Chevalier's new government currently resides in the Franken city of Würzburg close to the Vistrasian border. Würzburg has become a major focus point of Montelimarian refugees taking the route through Vistrasia, especially since the Stadhouder's Decree on National Integrity from October 1952 ordering the expulsion of the majority of Montelimarian refugees from Vistrasian territory, citing "reasons of national integrity and economic wellbeing", a decree opponents of the Stadhouder's government claim came into effect due to political pressure from Dulwich. Already often exhausted and short on money, many Montelimarian refugees have stayed in the city they have been deported to.

With the future of Franken's political system unknown as well, Chevalier has not yet been able to receive an official endorsement of any kind from the Franken government, but had until last year enjoyed the Frankish monarchy's support in setting up a counterpart to Engellex' administration.

Meanwhile, the Communist Party of Montelimar has rejected participation in Chevalier's government and instead called for "armed insurrection as the only way" to what it called "a path towards national liberation."

Military Operation in Svarttor Probably Had a Big, Undivulged Civilian Death Toll and Summary Executions

While both the Bogan Government and its mainstream press announced with great pleasure the success of a 'search and destroy' operation in the outskirts of the city of Svarttor with few civilian death tolls and more 'terrorist prisoners' than killed terrorists, many unofficial sources talk about a 'massacre' of some civlians recklessly identified as terrorists (around 100, while official accounts speak of 10) and, furthermore, most of the 'killed terrorists' were not killed in action but, after surrendering, summarily executed by the soldiers of the Royal Army.

General Albert Stëner, commander of the operation, refused the validity of what he called 'rumours': 'I watched the operation closely, and it was all conducted with the proportionality demanded by democratic legality, and our brave soldiers only shot dead those who threatened their lives.'. Some deputies of the Liberal Democratic Party and of the progressive wing of the Social-Democratic Party have complained the lack of a parliamentary committee created to supervise the operations, 'as it is normal in democratic nations', says Anton Adler, leader of the FDP.

Interim Chancellor Erik Strakman also refused accounts of any 'massacre', saying these 'stories' could only be the result of 'Rikhardist lies spread in liberal media'. The Chancellor showed confidence in a 'quick resolution of this bloody conflict' and promised 'Rikhard will be brought to justice and will not be a victim of a summary execution, like many liberals and social democrats want it to be, just for their political gain. We are a democracy and we respect the rule of law.'

To further reinforce their position, Carentanias Navy has apparently now dispatched a destroyer southwards, carrying elements of the Second Navy Infantry Division. The move, which is bound to be seen as provocational by the countries which have staked claims to Antarctica, is expected to prove the futility of what Carentania perceives as "imperialist endeavours" on the southern continental landmass.

"We will make landfall in the south and prove the inability of the involved powers to enforce their meaningless claims," Commissar for Foreign Affairs Tomas Jerman commented.

Carentanias destroyer, named "Suffragette", is expected to arrive in the south by end of next week.

Kyivian spies sentenced to death by Supreme Court of Sikandara

Earlier this year, 21 Kyivian nationals were arrested in various cities of Sikandara by the Empire's notorious Imperial Security and Intelligence Service (ISIS), found with damning evidence linking them to a plot to incite rebellion in some of the poorer rural areas of the Sikandari hinterland and create militant communist groups to challenge the writ of the Imperial Government and destabilize the internal security of the country. Following the announcement a few months ago, the Kyivian Government has officially disowned the individuals arrested, despite several dozen arrested local assets of the Kyivian intelligence agency identifying the 21 individuals as spies.

The Supreme Court of the Empire, the highest and most respected court of law, made itself responsible for the fair trail of the 21 arrested, which began last week, with proceedings being carried forward by the entire twelve member bench and the Government's position being presented by the Lord of Justice and the defense being carried out by Humayun Akhund, a noted lawyer and Parliamentary leader of the Sikandari Communist Party. Following many tense days of arguing and discussion in the court, with the defence insisting that the government's entire case had been built on testimonies from 57 Sikandari nationals who had links with the Kyivian intelligence agency, and that the 21 accused of high treason had been mentally tortured.

The Government's legal team insisted that international accepted norms were followed in the treatment of the Kyivian spies and that they had not cooperated at all with Sikandari interrogators and had to be kept under constant watch to ensure they did not commit suicide while in custody. The Lord of Justice argued that the Kyivians had been arrested with large amounts of incriminating data, which was presented to the court.

The actual trial lasted for two days, with no recess, stretching for eight hours on both occasions. And on the following day, the entire bench of the supreme court met in private to discuss the case and come to its collective decision. So only today, have the Honourable Judges announced that according to the Espionage Act of 1865 and the Treason Act of 1834, the Kyivian spies would be sentenced to death for carrying out and organizing activities aimed at destabilizing the peace and questioning the authority of the state.

To assuage international concerns of fairness during the trail, the Chief Justice had allowed the presence of monitors from neutral countries, such as Arendaal and Eiffelland, who have stated that the legal proceedings were indeed carried out without any bias and the general tone of the trial was objective and factual. Though the sentence has been passed, it awaits the signature of the Emperor of Sikandara, following which the Kyivian spies will be executed within 48 hours, as is the established custom. However, there are rumours that Chancellor Suleymani is willing to talk for a middle path of sorts though they remain unproven.

The entire episode has seriously damaged, if not destroyed, the fledgling ties between the Kyiv and Sikandara, while also severely straining the Sikandari friendship with Danmark. And as the chapter approaches its end, one must wait and see where the dust settles following this event.

Vangala increases military presence along border with Sikandara

The People's Republic of Vangala is to increase the size of its defensive forces along the border with Sikandara, following similar measures by the Sikandari military last week. Officials from the Vangalan Ministry of External Affairs have stressed that Vangala does not desire war with Sikandara, and that the new deployments in the western border region are only a response to Sikandari movements.

Tensions between the People's Republic of Vangala and the Imperial State of Sikandara have been rising since the decision by the Sikandari government to host the Vangalan government-in-exile, previously located in Franconia. Relations have worsened considerably with recent events, the last being the sentencing of 21 alleged Kyivan spies to death by the Supreme Court of Sikandara. Kyiv, another socialist state, is a key ally of the new Communist government of Vangala.

The Vangalan People's Armed Forces has enjoyed a number of successes in the past few months, having defeated most major rebel groups within Vangala and repulsed the invading Imperial Yujiner Army. Both Carentania and Havenshire have provided a significant quantity of military aid to Vangala, supplying weaponry and advisers to transform what once was a guerilla army into a modern fighting force. One member of the Vangalan Ministry of National Defence, speaking to Associated Press on the condition of anonymity, whilst repeating the official line that Vangala wanted peace with Sikandara, was confident Sikandara could be defeated in the case of war.

Many analysts fear the worst. A report by the Institute for Far Eastern Studies (IFES) warned with the potential defeat of the Empire of Yujin by the People's Republic of Vangala and its allies, Sikandara may feel pressured into acting to secure its own position. Another report released by the Centre for the Academic Study of Socialist States (CASSS) suggested revolutionary triumphalism in Vangala could provoke a new conflict. Economists have warned of the damage to the world economy, already anaemic after years of war.

The Grand Duchy finds this to be an overly aggressive stance by the Carentanian state, and suggests instead that they begin a more proactive move towards discussion and cooperation. We would gladly host a negotiation of the various parties on a brighter future for scientific endeavors in the southernmost continent.

To all whom it may concern,

The continued unilateral decisions made by the Carentanian Government with regards to foreign nations is, as always, insulting to the sovereignty of the Aurarian Republic and the territory of Tierra de la Nieve. The Aurarian Republic hopelessly wishes that the Carentanian Government would rather communicate than immediately escalate the situation by sending a warship to the southern pole. The Carentanian Government shows how unreasonable it truly is by failing to enter negotiations and discussion with the parties at hand. We are doubtful that the Carentanian will be willing or even care if the Aurarian Republic offered an audience to discuss the situation. With this in mind, the Aurarian Government will set its terms.

The Aurarian Republic and High Kingdom of Ivernia have declared that the southern pole is a non-militarized zone. That being said, despite the blatant disregard displayed by the Carentanian Government, the Aurarian Government will continue to stand by its word and not deploy any military personnel to the scientific research centers in Tierra de la Nieve. Also, the presence of the destroyer will not deter the Aurarian scientists heading for Tierra de la Nieve, we will still land on the territory we've claimed and build the bases necessary to conduct our research. However, if the Carentanian Government hinders the unarmed, scientific crafts of the Aurarian Republic and causes any harm to the scientists on board, it will be considered an attack by the Carentanian Nation on the people and state of Auraria and will be dealt with accordingly.
