Communist Party of Sereniérre announces renaming to Sérazinist Party of Sereniérre

The leadership of the Sereniérrese Communist Party, after arresting many of the conservative politicians, has announced that Marxism had proven itself to be a failed ideology and "Marxist ideals can no longer be associated with the wisdom of Nicolas Sérazin, our founder" the statement said. The announcement comes without surprise to many as the Boreatic country has long been seen by Communists and Capitalists alike as shedding the ideological dogma of fellow Communist nations since the late 1980s. The announcement provoked strong condemnation from Carentania, a country with which Sereniérre recently broke off ties.

Within the country, the news of the name change and official condemnation of Marxism was observed to have brought strong emotions to the surface in some areas but strong paramilitary presence in most areas, due to terrorist threats posed by the Solaris regime, prevented protests. But given the lack of political leadership for the conservative view, protesters don't seem organized enough to protest the decision in Villesen. It is expected that the National Assembly, the directly elected consultative assembly, will approve the decision due to absolute majority of the Orange Society, since the arrest of Red Society members and politicians.

The change in the name of the party and national ideology in Villesen now gives reformist President Renaudière even greater leverage to implement a series of reforms aimed at liberalizing the economic and political models and to bring the country out of its self-imposed shell in trade and economic matters. The President's office declined to comment when contacted.

The governemnt of Sereniérre finally reveals its true colors for all to see at last, though we had been aware of its revisionist and reactionary nature for quite a while. It's use of military force to supress legitimate protest against the political course its regime had taken - leading it straight into the trappings of capitalism and turning it into an EDF satellite - is a despicable and condemnable act. We are sure that the destructive changes in Sereniérre will lead to resistance nonetheless and we support any and all means to oust the leadership in Sereniérre, may it be a general strike or militant acts.

Solaren: EDF missile strikes kill civilians

A series of overnight cruise missile strikes by the European Defence Federation on Solaren's capital Torrence killed mostly civilians, according to Solaren government officials. Foreign journalists and cameramen were escorted to the sites of destroyed houses and shown corpses of children and women. Exact casualty figures have not yet been released, although current estimates suggest dozens of dead and hundreds injured. Pope Urban IV has promised revenge for the attack and warned all towns and cities in EDF member-states are potential targets.

The European Defence Federation has not commented on the alleged civilian casualties or the reasons for the missile strike on Torrence. Some analysts suspect it was an attempt to kill Pope Urban IV, whose current location is now unknown, although others believe it was a response to Solaren's use of chemical weapons.

If the claims are proven to be true, it is likely to add further controversy to the EDF's military campaign. Bantyr's most senior military officer has already criticised the EDF's approach to Solaren, while other nations have expressed concern over the country's future, worrying the EDF may ignore Solaren's people's right to self-determination.

Constitutional Crisis In Radilo

Nouveau Port - With the government in financial trouble and a no-confidence vote has ousted Prime Minister Michelle D'Anise and her government, a new crisis has arisen as no political faction or coalition has been able to garner enough votes to create a new government. To add to the chaos, several of the Nzeke dominated western and central districts as well as some of the Nethians in the south have threatened sucession as seperatist factions within the Assembly and the regions have taken the opertunity during the political crisis to make their move to seperate themselves from the rest of Radilo.

Though technically D'Anise still holds the office of the Prime Minister until a new Prime Minister is selected, she has been arrested by the Speaker of the Assembly, Henri Urhim, who has also proclaimed himself Prime Minister and with the Parliament so hopelessly fragmented to oppose it, and half the country threatening to secede, Pres. Jean Jacques Auguste to announce, "As Parliament has been unable to create a new government and is unwilling to support any nominee of my choosing, unless a solution is found immediately, I will have no choice but to ask the Crown to intervene."

Though it is likely just a bluff, the intervention might be the President threatening to activate a clause in the Radilo constitution. While he is unable to appoint any Prime Minister without Parliament approval and is unable to select one of it own, the clause will allow King Armand to reassert dominion and to appoint an interm government without Parliament concent or approval. An emergency clause, mainly designed for a crisis in which the government was incapacitated by some natural or manmade disaster, or in the time of war or insurrection in which the government is unable to govern, it was not invisioned for this particular situation and may find resistance if so activated.

Radilo President Activates Dominion Clause

Nouveau Port - Today on live television, President Jean Jacques Auguste signed the document that activated what is called the Doiminion Clause of the Radilian constitution. He has in effect reverted Radilo back to a dominion of the Kingdom of Montelimar, allowing King Armand to step in to restore order. Though scholars say that the clause was intended for times of war and disasters, Pres. Auguste an original signer of that constitution, claims the crisis in Radilo calls for it.

Though there has yet to be a reply out of Valmy, the activation of the clause obligates the King to insure the safety of Radilian citizen and restore order and a working government.

Recent bold public statements made by a member of the People's Republic of Havenshire's Central Congress have sent ripples of concern about this emerging nation-state, and how aggressive it is prepared to be in defence of its neutrality, or indeed if it has as great a degree of control over itself as it claims to.

"Essentially, Havenshire is a Mouse that Roars. Whilst claiming it has doubled its armed exclusion zone in territorial waters, and also publicly announcing that its sole missile submarine has left harbour, what Havenshire actually seems to be doing is trying to attract attention under the guise of re-affirming its neutrality." stated Dr Schlesinger, a noted expert on Havenshire/Germania-Gallia Affairs.
"By using the implied threat of a vessel theoretically capable of deploying a nuclear cruise missile salvo, Havenshire, or at least certain factions within its government, are attempting to assert greater independence from the Mantle, and also assuage its own people that Havenshire actually has weight to throw around in the developing Germania-Gallian Wars."

Whilst delivering a very cynical analysis, most experts agree with Schlesinger, some even adding that this could even be a powerplay by Hawkish members of the Central Congress, looking to re-assert control over a country that has been struggling with its 25-year old policy of detente, openness and toleration of limited Capitalism.

Whatever the case may be, the People's Republic of Havenshire may not stay a "Mouse that Roars for long", as many suspect the Navy they have been constructing- initially with Breotonian corporate investment- will soon be used to challenge the supremacy that the Mantle enjoys as "policeman of the Oceans." Others are certain that it is only a matter of time before the reformist Council-Communist State returns to its more hardline ways, and once again the Strait of Zeal becomes the Iron Straits.

Vangala 'not supporting' RDTO military operations in Solaren

Officials from the Communist Party and People's Armed Forces have denied rumours Vangala is supporting military operations by the Revolutionary Defence Treaty Organisation against Solaren. Vangala, only an associate member of RDTO, had been accused by various newspapers of sending military equipment and special forces to support the RDTO offensive spearheaded by Carentania. One went so far as to claim Vangala was providing chemical weapons, in the case of a WMD attack by Solaren or confrontation with the European Defence Federation, which is involved in a separate military campaign against the Sacred Kingdom.

A spokesperson from the Vangalan Ministry of External Affairs had refused to answer journalists questions on the subject, leaving when one asked about the possible shipment of chemical weapons. Vangala maintains a policy of deliberate ambiguity over possession of weapons of mass destruction. Later, a senior Communist Party member claimed Vangala has only sent humanitarian aid. A chorus of military officers then told foreign media their greatest concern was Cantignian actions in Oceania, not the invasion of Solaren.

The People's Republic has previously remained largely quiet on the matter of Solaren. Permanent Representative to the Council of Nations Vina Qamaruzzaman raised concerns on the political future of Solaren, but did not criticise the actions of either alliance. Both are too important for Vangala to alienate, say analysts, with the EDF being an important source of investment and aid, while the RDTO offers valuable military and political support.

Zero Tolerance policies applied in Altaic Schools

Inspired by the school shooting in Aleksander Vinokourov High School this spring, official enacted a zero tolerance policy in schools.
The zero tolerance policy is a action made by authorities at the pleas of the parents devastated by the loss of a child, the injuries of their child or even scared by what could happen in other schools. Authorities made a plea to every student to come and tell them when someone shows signs of, how did they put it: "anti social behaviour".

From the education budget were taken money for the buying of cameras to be put in school's classes and hallways and even the buying of metal detectors at the entrance of the buildings. The General Pukovnik of the ProNat Darko Garin also ordered the presence of three ProNat officers in the building.

Some of the members of the ministry of education are against the move. Secretary Emil Kurcewicz commented against the action:
"I see this as a kind of outburst. Yes, I agree that men like Marek Grozinsky shouldn't do things like this and to protect of children we must stop them. But we can't stop them by punishing all the students in Altai. This action will support the idea that the students had: Schools will be prisons. To really change those things and stop them, we should make a social program about this, and showing teachers and school councilors as friends who want to help you, not as enemies you want to avoid".

Frescania Recognizes Solaren National Congress

From its very beginning, the conflict in Solaren has taken a back seat in Frescania's foreign affairs, which to many, has been seen as a failure by president Gabriel Serrano. The EDF and later Carentanian intervention, together with domestic affairs, were seen as the reason behind Frescania's inactivity in the area.

This stance ended today, when the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Julio Valdez, stated that Frescania recognizes the Solaren National Congress as the legitimate government in Solaren. “The SNC is the only body in Solaren that can bring not only stability, but peace and democracy to a country that has only known brutal tyranny and oppression”. When asked if the government had been in contact with the SNC before, Mr. Valdez stated that yes, Fortaleza Real had been in contact with all groups in Solaren, including the EDF coalition and Carentania. He said that after lengthy back and forward with all sides, the president had decided on recognizing the SNC.

Mr. Valdez stated that Frescania is ready to help the SNC begin its transition towards democracy, peace and prosperity.

New footage has emerged showing Pope Urban IV uncaptured and in good health. Solaren officials sent video tapes to international media containing a recorded message from Urban, which denounced the European Defence Federation's and Carentania's military campaigns against Solaren and described the caught Pope as a double.

The Sacred Kingdom had previously remained quiet on Pope Urban IV's supposed capture by Nicosian special forces. Analysts suspect there was confusion in the upper echelons over Pope Urban's exact status and location. Diplomats and church officials have since confirmed the footage and rejected Nicosia's claims.

Nicosia, and the rest of the European Defence Federation, have yet to respond. If Solaren's allegations are proven true, it will be an embarassment for the Island Kingdom. Pope Urban's fate is of special significant to Nicosia, whose citizens were held hostage for ransom by the Solaren government. It will also cast doubt over the war effort in Solaren, which is under risk from Engellex's invasion of Montelimar, a key participant, as well as increasing international criticism. Hopes for a swift victory over a demoralised Solaren army are quickly vanishing.

However, the news was greeted with celebration by some, with Solaren state television broadcasting scenes from street parties in Torrence. Many overseas Solaris Catholic communities were also jubilant.

Violence as first factories close in SEZs

Clashes in Vangala's Special Economic Zones between workers and the paramilitary People's Reserve Police over the closure of foreign-owned factories as a result of the ongoing global conflict continued over last night and into this morning, eyewitnesses say. Gunshots could be heard and several buildings were ablaze. No information on possible casualties is available, although a number of fatalities and injuries are expected. Vangalan state media has been quiet on the issue, with only local papers in Chingrikhali, the main site of unrest, reporting on the disturbances.

Special Economic Zones, originally known as Economic Experimentation Areas, have a history of violent clashes. Established in the 1980's as part of wider free-market reforms, they offered foreign and domestic businesses a place to invest with laxer regulations and lower taxes. Workers' rights groups have accused companies operating there of abuse and negligence. Only earlier this year did labourers at a textile factory owned by a Wing Sing-based business riot over pay and conditions.

It is difficult to independently verify accounts of last night's events. Special permission is required for entrance into the Special Economic Zones, ostensibly on security grounds, and journalists are regularly barred from entering. Extensive censorship and the loyalty of state media mean impartial information is difficult to come by.

However, if closures lead to the same levels of violence as last night, with the future of the world economy still uncertain, the Vangalan leadership must be braced for further rioting. According to some reports, reinforcements from the People's Reserve Police are already starting to arrive at the Special Economic Zones.

Senior Solaris clerics denounce Solaren National Congress

A group of senior Solaris Catholic clergymen residing within Solaren have denounced the Solaren National Congress and other expatriate political groups, describing them as proxies of foreign governments and urged Solaren citizens in areas occupied by the European Defence Federation and Carentania to reject them. All re-affirmed their allegiance to Pope Urban IV and maintained their belief Solaren should continue to be under the rule of the Solaris Catholic Church.

"Solaris Catholicism is an integral part of the national identity of the Solaren people," claimed one Bishop, "these cliques of traitors, pawns of foreign despots and agents of the Devil, with their godless ideas, are not welcome."

Some analysts suspect this is an attempt by elements of the regime in Torrence to influence post-war events, with many now realising victory for the European Defence Federation and Carentania is almost an inevitability, despite the fierce fighting in Solaren's major cities. With no clear plan from either the EDF or Carentania, many now fear the vacuum will be exploited by remnants of Pope Urban's government. With controversy still surrounding the status of the Solaren National Congress, the most prominent opposition group, and the recent comments from senior clerics, these fears may become all too real.

The Secretariat of War refused to comment except to say that it will defend against any attacks upon the territory of the empire.

Talemantine bombs hit hospital in Dialgorod

The bombing of the city of Dialgorod had reached a top in the inhumane actions in this war. The bombing of the city of Dialgorod by the Talemantine fleet had began at the start of the Altai-Talemantine war. It's citizens where hit hard as many civilian neighborhoods were bombed. Hospitals, which were see as a safe haven because of the protection gave from the Red Cross, have transformed into a nightmare for the men hospitalized there. A bomb hit today the Universitary Hospital in Dialgorod, killing 52 men.

This a fine example of Altaic propaganda. Apparently the Altaic reporting believe
that the Talemantine Military uses weapons from the early 20th century instead of
modern military arms. Our cruise missiles aimed at Dialgorod targeted and attacked
only military targets within the city. Last we checked a university hospital was not
a military target.
