The Grand Duchy is saddened to hear of the loss of Henrik Westerveld, and send our condolences and prayers to his family. We hope, however, that in the months to come, Danmark and Potenza can recover and regain losses made in the historical relations between the two leaders.

As such, we urge King Frederik II to maintain caution with the current state of affairs in his kingdom. Poor treatment of minority groups will cause further unrest and instability, and with the monarchies of the world threatened, there is no shortage of foreign powers willing to create further discord inside other realms. On this note, the Grand Duchy is very alarmed by the tone of other nations, especially the government of [MENTION=1131]Sylvania[/MENTION], which is cheering for further unrest and instability within Danmark. We should not be cheering for death and destruction during these turbulent times.

We understand, however, the sentiments of other nations, such as [MENTION=1243]Ivernia[/MENTION], which oppose poor treatment of citizens within the Danic state. As king, His Royal Majesty King Frederik II should recognize the importance of the monarch's role in preserving the dignity and rights of the population within the state. Our own monarch, His Royal Majesty Grand Duke Guido III, has many types of people under his control, but treats them all with the same dignity and respect. If King Frederik II cannot maintain this dignity, then he fails in his role as a monarch and must abdicate for a noble who will maintain the nobility of the throne.

People's Republic of Vangala appeals for international recognition

An open address to the international community by the Communist regime of Vangala has appealed for greater recognition, with currently only other socialist states recognising the Vangalan Workers and Peasants Party as the sole legitimate political authority in the country. The revolution in 1951 replaced the United Princely States, a federation of constitutional monarchies, with the People's Republic of Vangala. The former government is presently hosted in Shahdara, the capital of neighbouring Sikandara.

The Communist regime's appeal follows an unsuccessful plea for international assistance following the invasion of Yujin, which was ignored by most foreign governments. Vangala is suffering from mass internal displacement of peoples and widespread hunger. Problems have been exacerbated by the heavy monsoon season and the war with Yujin.

The deposed government of the United Princely States continues to enjoy the recognition of most foreign powers, and and is believed to supported significant by Sikandara. However, the recent victories of the Communist regime may force many states to pragmatically reconsider their position towards the revolutionary government and a number of countries interested in Vangala's natural wealth are suspected in already establishing unofficial diplomatic channels with the People's Republic.

We understand the severe circumstance in which His Majesty King Frederick had to take absolute power over the country. However, I concur with the Potenzan Minister for Foreign Affairs Lombardo that King Frederick must act with caution. Indeed, there are many actors on the scene who all have their own agenda. An agenda that will be great for those actors but not necessarily good for Danmark.

We strongly condemn King Frederick’s treatment of the Germanic minority in Danmark, and the discrimination of Germanics in Danmark in general, for reasons already stipulated by others.

​General Kalev Soosaar killed by a bomb explosion in Imavere

A terrorist attack shocked Saaremaa and the world as a bomb car was used by a terrorist organization to assassinate one of the leaders of the April Revolution in Saaremaa, General Kalev Soosaar. The bomb attack took place at 9 pm last night as the motorcade of the general was returning from the Maadevahe Iron Mine and was returning to the hotel in which the General was accommodated in the city. As the motorcade entered the Unioni Bulvar, the bomb inside a parked car exploded killing the General, one adjutant and the driver of the car and wounding another 7 people. No group has of yet acknowledged the responsibility for the attack. The State Defender, Marshal Mihkel Vaino condemned the attack with disgust and abhorrence.

Political analysts in Saaremaa have launched different theories regarding the man or group responsible for the attack. Theories go from monarchists, mezhists or communists who suffered because of the creation of the Meritocracy to political enemies of General Soosaar, some theories even saying that actually Vaino was behind it, as Soosaar is the last friend of Paavo Laht, Vaino's political nemesis, that still was a member of the government, as Soosaar was the foreign minister since the April Revolution. Such theories were quickly rejected by the Office of the State Defender. The RKT has started an investigation on this matter.

"We cannot let such things to happen again. We must find which group is against us, as they are already against the state of law in Saaremaa. The RKT will soon find out and arrest the people responsible for this. Things like this is what happens when anarchic ideas enter the territory of the nation and since Vaino came to power, his reign, if I can call it like that, has made us vulnerable again, like we were before the April Revolution. Potenzan Ministers Criticize Merlino

Among the critical voices is the fledgling Repubblicano, the Grand Duchy's only republic-centered political party. They have called not only for the resignation of Merlino, but for Grand Duke Guido III to step down as well.

Supporters of Merlino have pointed out that, in regards to crime and the economy, Merlino has shined greatly, having reduced the crime rate in Potenza's urban areas and increased investment inside Potenza and outside it as well. Still, there are rumors that, even inside Merlino's National Alliance, there is growing discontentment, and fear that if Merlino were to remain in power, he would damage the possibility for the ruling party come next elections.

Merlino came to power in 1951, following the former Grand Duke Eldizio I's dismissal of the Chamber of Ministers. His popularity grew after Operation Reconquista, but has dropped significantly since his foreign policy with Sikandara and other nations. Many are also worried that his growing involvement in Solaren may be damaging what was formerly a successful peace-keeping mission, especially after his decision to arrest Bishop Muzzoni in Cantignia. There is also some concern about the role he played in the loss of the Nembo, a Potenzan destroyer which sunk after it was attacked by an unidentified submarine.

King Frederik II Forced to Abdicate!

A culmination of protests, riots, and civil disobedience led to the deaths of several hundred German speaking Danes over the past fourteen days that has led to what is being deemed (now two weeks old) the German Christiansborg Massacre, as eight Germans died when a few Danish soldiers fired upon a German speaking crowd that gathered in-front of the Royal Palace. The shots caused most protestors to flee in a frenzied panic which left many more injured. The Danish soldiers did not shoot a second time as their commander yelled to cease fire.

As the international community has scorned the actions of King Frederik II and his attitude towards pacifying his country, the German Christiansborg Massacre, which has proved to be neither a massacre, nor exclusively German, has proved to be the last straw.

The injustice resulted in a meeting of a German Speaking Congress which demanded the abdication of the King, or a creation of a new German Speaking nation-state. King Frederik II was willing to do neither. The end result has been the previous fourteen days of a Germanic call-to-arms in which German workers have stopped working and picked up a gun and begun to march to Christiansborg. The scene proved awe-inspiring and seemed to be concrete proof of the failure of the Danish state, a state now in full rebellion.

The King's attempts at "bread and circuses" have had no impact either. King Frederik's Summer Festival, and Danish Beer Garden were both boycotted by Germans and Danish speakers have been often forced to retreated to Danish-speaking majority centers after a series of public beatings in occurred in the Northeastern parts of Danmark.

Now with what is estimated to be two-thousand men marching to his Royal Palace, King Frederik was left no choice, to either fire upon his subjects or to abdicate. Abdication is what he chose, as he lifted countless artifacts and valuables from the Royal Palace and left for a foreign country. The news this morning resulted in his brother taking the throne, but he has refused the crown stating that, "The men which mean my brother harm, surely would only wish the same upon my own."

Danish-speakers have also now had enough, and the Danish Government now leaderless, has appointed a temporary Prime Minister to organize a government. Despite this, the German Workers Army has yet to stop their march. Prime Minister Viktor Albin Hansen, has called upon the Army to fortify the Government district as the country seems to have gone to an outright revolutionary phase. The climate created in downtown Christiansborg is one of "us versus them," as most of the city's inhabitants worry for the impending German Workers Army arriving. Prime Minister Hansen has instructed troops from both the Faroes and Danish Implarian holdings to return home, leaving highly limited garrisons in place. Meanwhile the German Speaking Congress and their appointed President Michael Schindler has demanded that the institution of a Republic is the only way forward to keeping the country intact. The issue itself has proven to split the country 50/50, as many Danish-speakers look to find a new King via the lines of succession.

The Workers Army is expected to arrive in the Danish capital later this week.

War Erupts in the Streets of Christiansborg

The German Speaking Congress, convened and made a public announcement, as President Michael Schindler displayed a solemn face before his followers as he discussed the most recent news to come from Christiansborg. The news that the German Workers Army had arrived in Christiansborg was certainly not a surprise. Reports over the past week has described this makeshift protest turned militia to be angrily demanding the King's abdication. They achieved this, yet continued their march. Once arriving to Christiansborg, the Danish Parliament elected to have the Danish Army open fire upon the German speakers resulting a blood bath. In total, there have been at least 700 dead.

The Danish Army followed the protestors into the countryside and now marches for where the German Speaking Congress resides in Wilhelmshaven.

President Michael Schindler saddened by the news, decided that the time had come for a line to be drawn. When the humanity of the common man and a compatriot of Danish blood, although of different tongue needed to be respected. The President has since decided to declare the German speaking people independent from Christiansborg.

Nothing else was really discussed by the President and he refused to answer questions on any large scale, only stating, "We have no Constitution, no true Government, but this makeshift Congress. The blood spilled tonight is our resolve. The rest will come later."

The German Speaking Congress met for the last time in Wilhelmshaven and plan to move inland to a more major German speaking city. They also urged citizens to take arms to fight against the Danish Army's advance to Wilhelmshaven.

All Swieczieman nationals living in Danmark are to immediately return to Swiecziema and remain until this crisis is resolved. The Federal Navy will deploy transport vessels to facilitate the evacuation of those who cannot, or do not wish to, leave the country by rail. The Mezhist Union will however maintain communications with the Danish government to facilitate a clear evacuation.

Swieczieman Imperium in Exile to Relocate

After spending nearly thirty years being hosted by the Danish Imperial government, sources have confirmed that the government in exile of the Swieczieman Imperium is planning to move out of Christiansborg in light of the increase in violent civil unrest and the recent massacre of at least 700 members of the German Workers Army. Established in 1923 soon after the Steel Revolution that saw the rise of the Mezhist Union, the Swieczieman Imperium in Exile consists of loyal members of the Imperial Government who were expatriated to Danmark soon after the Bratumil Dynastic Massacre, which only Gabryjela Bratumilska, the youngest daughter, and current self-styled Cesarzowa, managed to survive.

Hints of the Imperium in Exile's plans to relocate to a different country first surfaced after Frederik II claimed absolute power over the state, when Imperial Prime Minister Borys Wysocki was heard commenting, "The Danish Imperium is facing a grave crisis at its heart. Christiansborg is no longer safe for Her Imperial Majesty." Soon after the king's abdication, the Prime Minister further commented, "We cannot stay for long if these conditions continue to escalate."

It was only this afternoon that Prime Minister Wysocki confirmed to the AP that the Imperium in Exile was indeed leaving Danmark. "We are making arrangements, yes. Safe passage has been guaranteed for the Imperial Family and other key people in the government. Danmark has been very kind to have hosted us for this long, and we can only give our deepest sympathies as it faces this present trial." The Prime Minister did not explicitly name the nation that the Imperium in Exile is relocating to. However, it is unlikely to be a former member of the Holy Germanic Empire, due to the Swieczieman Imperium's historic animosity with them.

Troops relocated to Northern Eiffelland

In response to the unrest in Danmark, Eiffelland is relocating 30,000 men infantry and medical troops to the Northernmost province of the country, the Harz. Chancellor Von Seydewitz mentioned "preventing the unrest from spilling over Northern Eiffelland" and "setting up refugee camps" as the reasons for this move: "We expect that quite a lot of people from Danmark will try to flee the hostilities in their mother-country. We need to be prepared for that."
Upon a question from a journalist whether Eiffelland would intervene in Danmark, the Chancellor responded: "The 3rd Army is the only part of the Land Army that is allowed to operate outside Eiffellandian soil. Currently the 3rd Army is almost completely involved in Solaren. A land intervention in Danmark by Eiffellandian land forces is currently impossible, unless Eiffelland itself is attacked. Apart from that, an intervention by us won't stop the hostilities in Danmark at this moment and would even be counterproductive according to us."

Several peaceful protests have moved through the city streets on this sunny Saturday afternoon protesting the slow process of prosecution of the Garda Síochána, where the assassin of the head of the Mezhist Party of Ivernia, Rudolf Jószef, is still in questioning and has yet to be officially prosecuted. The protest was also in light of the fact that it is believed that the bomber (Or bombers) have fled to Franken and the Ivernish Government has yet to make any headway into retrieving them from the unstable Franconian Kingdom.

The Protest was reported to have passed peacefully with only minor scuffles between Gardaí and some accused ''opportunist looters''. More protests are planned by the ''Campaigners for Justice.''

Imperium in Exile Declares Potenza its New Host

Prime Minister of the Swieczieman Imperium in Exile Borys Wysocki revealed in the latest interview that arrangements have been made with the Grand Duchy of Potenza to serve as their new host. "Her Imperial Majesty is very grateful to the Grand Duchy for heeding our request, and we express our deepest gratitude to His Royal Majesty Grand Duke Guido III, and to the whole of the Potenzan government for having us." The Prime Minister explained, however, that due to certain circumstances, their stay in Potenza might have to be temporary, and that he has been tasked with finding a more permanent alternative, should the situation prove to necessitate one.

The Imperial Family, consisting of Cesarzowa Gabryjela II, Prince Adalrik, Margrave of Roskilde, and their daughter Princess Jadwiga, Duchess of Czempin, has moved into the Potenzan Embassy while awaiting the arrival of their Folgore escort from Potenza. It is not known how the Mezhist Union will react to this announcement, considering their continuing alliance with Danmark despite the latter's having hosted the Imperium in Exile the whole time, but speculative scenarios are running the gamut from apathy, to an outright denouncing of the Grand Duchy.

Ministry for Economic Affairs imposes tariffs on Montelimarian products

Yesterday several newspapers mentioned rumours that the Ministry for Economic Affairs was preparing a bill on punitive tariffs on Montelimarian product, something that was not mentioned by the Chancellor in his weekly press conference the day before. The rumours in question had not been confirmed at the moment of appearance of those newspapers, but in the afternoon Minister for Economic Affairs Dr. Röpke indicated in a radio interview that the rumours are true: “It was a decision by the Montelimarian Provisional Government to impose punitive tariffs on Eiffellandian products. I won’t question that decision, but we would unnecessarily harm ourselves if we would let Montelimarian products freely into Eiffelland while Montelimar imposes tariffs upon our products. Therefore, we will impose tariffs upon Montelimarian products which are equal to the tariffs imposed by the Montelimarian Provisional Government upon our products. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.”

ZAMORA DAM HAS BEEN BREACHED

An emergency broadcast has been issued by the Aurarian Government to all persons around the area of the Zamora Dam, located in the central hills of Nueva Catamarca. Cause of the collapse is yet to be determined; however several towns, construction sites, and a popular tourist destination, Tello Beach, have been hit hard by the break wave.

Aurarian Military Personnel have arrived on the scene in limited capacity, providing whatever assistance they can until the arrival of more emergency personnel. Only three hours after the reported breach and the death toll has risen well into the hundreds.

All inhabitants of the areas affected by the breach are requested to stay in shelter and wait for the arrival of emergency personnel and aid them in anyway in directing relief efforts and rescue operations.
