Vangala continues fight for gender equality

Days after the People's Republic celebrated International Women's Day, the Ministry for Women and Children has unveiled dozens of new proposals designed to win the battle for equal rights and opportunities for women in the Motherland. Speaking to Communist Party members at the People's Assembly, Minister Rupali Sen outlined her Ministry's plans while also praising the past heroic efforts of the Party to achieve gender equality, notably the successful educational campaigns aimed at removing reactionary thought, irrational religious superstitution and primitive cultural customs that oppressed women.

Seeking greater representation for women in politics and governance, Minister Sen suggested in all elections there should be several guaranteed female candidates. Under previous schemes, several women have been elected to the People's Assembly and many more to local bodies. Rupali Sen is hoping to increase the number. Furthermore, state-run organisations and companies will be encouraged to give women more high-profile and public positions. In co-operation with the Ministry for Public Health, family planning services will be extended, with free female contraception to be provided alongside male contraception. To stop gendercidal practises, sex-selective infanticide will also become a new separate crime, carrying a heavy sentence for offenders.

President Chatterjee has applauded Minister Sen for efforts to end gender discrimination. Speaking after a private meeting with the Minister, where he awarded her the Nilima Bibi Medal, named after Vangala's most famous female patriot and martyr, he wisely told eager journalists "women make up half of our population, and we need them all as partners to achieve 100% of our great nation's potential".

Vangala is already one of Europe's most progressive states in the promotion of sexual equality. Controversial decisions, such as the legalisation and regulation of prostitution, once dismissed by critics are now being hailed for their achievements, with the Ministry of Public Health reporting a decrease in the number of cases of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). With abortion now widely available, the number of women dying from unsafe terminations has also fallen significantly. Many women serve in the People's Armed Forces, proudly defending Mother Vangala from all threats. Vangalan family tradition also celebrates the important role of women, and rightfully recognises mothers as head of the household.

The Ministry for Women and Children has vowed not to stop there though. Funding will also be given to organisations across Europe who agitate for women's rights and Minister Rupali Sen hopes Vangala will soon host a conference to boost the global campaign for equality.

Carentania's social-imperialist foreign policy

Carentania's imperialist adventure into Solaren is an affront to socialism. Carentanian soldiers claim to be bringing national liberation and revolution, but they bring only death and misery to the Solaris people. Rijeka seeks to control the Long Sea and export its revisionist ideas. Solaren now looks set to suffer the same fate as the continents of Himyar and Toyou in the 19th century, and be divided between invading foreign powers. The Jadugopal Basu Revolutionary Students’ Association and Romesh Nabi Young Communist Organisation stands in solidarity with the struggling masses of Solaren and demands an immediate end to the invasion and occupation of their lands.

Neo-colonialism and gunboat diplomacy can be expected from the reactionaries and feudal autocrats of the European Defence Federation. From a self-proclaimed Worker's Republic, it is shocking and disturbing and should be condemned with equal vitriol.

Apologists for Rijeka's expansionist foreign policy, which remains socialist in words only, justify Carentanian intervention by repeating anti-Solaris propaganda, distorting and exaggerating accusations against the tyrannical Pope Urban. Yet Carentania's military action has led to countless innocent deaths, and threatens to result in famine and death.

Instead of looking to provoke the revolutionary consciousness of the Solaren people, which has been numbed by years of religious fanaticism, and aiding independent revolutionary efforts to overthrow the barbaric theocracy in Torrence, Carentania wishes to impose a clique of outsiders as new rulers. Dangerous self-belief in Carentanian exceptionalism, rooted in the country's history as the first socialist state together with several successful yet questionable military campaigns, like in the Jurzan, prevents the formation of a genuine national movement to free Solaren.

Action to demonstrate against the invasion and occupation of Solaren will occur over this weekend and is organised by the Jadugopal Basu Revolutionary Students’ Association and Romesh Nabi Young Communist Organisation. Contact your local youth leaders for further information and details.

We are deeply offended and highly concerned by organizations associated with the Vangalan state showing sympathy, yes even defending highly reactionary regimes such as that of Pope Urban. The Romesh Nabi Young "Communist" Organizations has cast further doubt on the already tarnished credibility of Vangalan Socialism.

Comrade President Chatterjee warns against ideological divisionism

Addressing the future revolutionaries of the Romesh Nabi Young Communist Organisation, President Moheen Chatterjee lectured on the dangers of ideological divisionism, warning potential adventurists that they threatened revolutionary unity and international solidarity in a time of great imperial expansion. Carentanian intervention in Solaren was necessary for the security of socialist nations and the prospects of the Solaren people, he noted, and complete control of the Long Sea by capitalist powers would be unacceptable, as they would only use it for their own gain and to punish independent nations like Vangala.

President Moheen Chatterjee's speech also emphasised the original teachings and principles of our visionary founding father Jadugopal Basu, reminding the students of Romesh Nabi each individual country follows its own national path to communism. He recognised imperfections in the Carentanian system, but called for greater understanding between our nations.

However, President Moheen Chatterjee remained defiant on the right to self-determination for the people of Solaren. He urged Carentania not to allow a small clique to dictate Solaren’s future and stressed the importance of a local liberation movement. He also demanded no division of the country and action to end the deaths of innocent civilians.

For once, we stand in agreement with our brethren to the West. The continued violence against civilians in Solaren, and the fact that no goals have been outlined for the EDF and Carentanitan war effort, are concerning and evoke notions of a neo-imperialist agenda. We urge both the EDF and RDTO to outline objectives, guarantee civilians rights, show restraint against civilian populations, or the People's Free State will be greatly displeased and need to review relations with Western nations.

Carentanian teaching hospital produces first doctors and nurses

The first wave of doctors and nurses emerged from the Ivo Lazar Teaching Hopsital to lead the fight against disease in the People's Republic of Vangala. Public Health Minister Sandeep Mahalanabis and members from the Kilkila section of the Communist Party attended the graduation ceremony, which celebrated the individual successes of the new doctors and nurses as well as the triumph of humanism and solidarity in medicine, with the graduates having been taught by Carentanian health professionals.

The Ivo Lazar Teaching Hospital, named after the famous Carentanian doctor who invented the cardiac pacemaker, stands in our great capital city as a symbol of socialist achievement. Jointly constructed by Carentanian and Vangalan workers, it offers the most modern medical technology and excellent teaching standards and every year will produce 150 outstanding graduates. The Hospital also works closely with the National University of Vangala to lead ground-breaking developments in medical science.

The Embassay of the Worker's Republic of Carentania has invited all the graduates to attend further celebrations, before they begin work later this week with units from the People's Armed Forces and the Village Peace Force to provide vaccinations and check-ups in rural areas.

The People's Voice wishes to also congratulate the new medics and hopes for a bright future for them all.

PEOPLE'S MILITARY WARNS YUJIN WARMONGERS

A strong line will be taken against Yujinese warmongering, promised General Priyanshu Sen, Chief of the People's Armed Forces' General Staff, as he vowed to defend the principles of the Party and maintain national sovereignty over all air, land and sea in a meeting with President Moheen Chatterjee. Yujinese ultra-nationalists have recently been exploiting the tense international situation to further their militant anti-Vangalan agenda. General Priyanshu also pleaded to progressive elements in Yujin to unite and take action against militarism to prevent another regional war.

Yujin continues to ignore historical truths and fabricate evidence to support its expansionist claims on Vangalan territory. Yujinese soldiers have also previously attacked Vangalan border patrols and defensive military installations unprovoked. The True Nation Party is the main instigator of these chauvinist policies.

The People's Armed Forces have superior manpower and equipment and any assault on Mother Vangala would be repulsed immediately, General Sen also assured President Moheen Chatterjee and the people. Yujin's plans for extended offensive capabilities are unfeasible and exaggerated, Sen noted, but Vangala should continue with its heroic military modernisation efforts to ensure our independence.

President Moheen Chatterjee, Supreme Commander of the People's Armed Forces, praised General Priyanshu Sen for his service in the defence of the nation and promised to deliberate with Party members to guarantee the necessary resources for the military. His Excellency is scheduled to meet the brave soldiers stationed along the dangerous border with Yujin in the coming months.

Vangala mourns death of Jurzani hero

The sudden death of Supreme Chancellor Faraj Khayrat, Father of the Jurzan, has caused great sadness amongst the Vangalan people, with spontaneous outpourings of grief reported near the Jurzani Embassy. Upon hearing of the shocking news, President Moheen Chatterjee ordered an immediate respectful silence in the House of Vangala and for gifts to be sent to his family. As a sign of solidarity with the Jurzani people in this time of mourning, national flags across Vangala will be flown at half-mast tomorrow.

Faraj Khayrat was instrumental in the liberation and defence of the Jurzan, defeating Georgian supremacism and Talemantine imperialism, with his heroic efforts ensuring Jurzani independence and freedom. His decisive actions have also guaranteed political stability and economic prosperity for the new country. In a special address to the People's National Assembly, President Moheen Chatterjee acknowledged Faraj Khayrat's many great successes by comparing him to the famous Vangalan freedom fighter Romesh Nabi.

The Communist Party has vowed uphold his legacy. People's Committees in numerous cities are already planning to build statues or name roads in his honour. Despicable suggestions about the causes of his death from Talemantros were quickly rejected by Vangala.

President Moheen Chatterjee has also called for firm, new leadership in his place and invited the next Supreme Chancellor for discussions on strengthening ties, as well as promising continued support and assistance. Already, advisers from the People's Military are training Jurzani security forces, helping maintain internal defence in the Jurzan.

EDITORIAL SPECIAL: WHAT HAPPENS IF THE EDF FALLS?
A Carentanian perspective on the conflict in Central Europe and its possible consequences

Within less than half a year, the status quo of Europe has vanished into thin air and what was believed to be a rock-solid system of alliances is falling over like a row of dominos. The dominance of the European Defence Federation had maintained a period of stability for the largest part of Europe by the means of imperial hegemony, with Franken at its core and a number of Federation allies surrounding it, dominating the European capitalist periphery and living off its ressources and labor. For the longest time the Federation was perceived as nigh invulnerable... More inside...

VANGALANS URGED TO RETURN TO MOTHERLAND
Sons and Daughters of Mother Vangala encouraged to return home for safety and prosperity

Leader of the Vangalan Communist Party in Franconia Bikash Bhaumik called for overseas Vangalans to return to the People's Republic as the conflict in central Europe increasingly threatens their livelihood, with Montelimar near total collapse after the Engellexic invasion. Bhaumik warned Franconia could be next, and urged a retreat to the homeland. He pointed to a new scheme that will help Vangalans living abroad return, offering aid in accquiring a home or investing.. DONATE GENEROUSLY TO REFUGEE AID EFFORTS
Humanism and International Solidarity needed to help refugees from Montelimar and Solaren

Vangalans across the world are being urged by the Communist Party to give generously to charitable efforts to alleviate the suffering of refugees fleeing from the conflicts in Montelimar and Solaren. The Communist Party has already contributed massively, providing money and supplies and organising volunteers. Party officials have placed special emphasis on the plight of Solaren refugees, as they face extra hardship from discrimination as a result of widespread anti-Solaris propaganda. Fundraising campaigns by the overseas Vangalan community have been praised, and President Moheen Chatterjee has personally written to local leaders congratulating them... More inside...

National scientific community praises Party nuclear energy policy

Leading nuclear experts from across the People's Republic of Vangala have praised the Communist Party for their strong position on our peaceful nuclear energy programme, urging against submission to outside pressure and demanded an unrelenting defence of the right to national sovereignty in all affairs. They noted current nuclear policy guarantees Vangalan energy security for the future and will earn the respect of many countries, and rejected enemy propaganda that wrongly accuses Vangala of manufacturing nuclear weapons.

The experts, in an open address to His Excellency President and General-Secretary Moheen Chatterjee, also welcomed the progress of the nuclear energy programme, saluting the extraordinary construction efforts by Vangalan workers and the scientific developments, and are confident the programme will meet, and maybe exceed, targets.

President and General-Secretary Moheen Chatterjee gave thanks for their wise and generous words and promised to continue with the nuclear energy programme despite international hostility. Only this week did the People's Armed Forces confirm they had prevented an attack on a reactor site. His Excellency further dismissed allegations, based on fabricated scientific evidence, of Vangala intending to possess nuclear weapons, although correctly stated as independent nation, Vangala reserves the right to consider all measures to ensure national security.

The Constitutional State once more asserts that the People's Republic must handle public relations with the international community in the most communicative of spirit. The People's Republic must open its nuclear facilities for inspection by independent third party observers and give detailed information to the international community about the scope, status and intentions of its nuclear ambitions.

The Constitutional State furthermore expresses its strongest commitment to a world without nuclear weapons. We hold the fact self-evident that no state has the right to possess nuclear weapons, disruptive tools of mass killing that are the ultimate embodiment of a monopolized - delegationist - society, in which the monopolists claim for themselves the right to exterminate millions upon the press of a button. The commitment to nuclear non-proliferation and the destruction of the global nuclear arsenals is crucial for the transformation of our global society and the empowerment of free men and women everywhere, and we call upon the Vangalan authorities to join in the rejection of an alleged right to mass killing as a tool of national defense.

The Constitutional State of Touzen continues to bombard the People's Republic of Vangala with unfair demands. We have repeatedly stated the peaceful intentions of our nuclear programme and friends as far away as Carentania, Franconia and Hajr can confirm its civilian nature. Meanwhile, Touzen obfuscate details on its own nuclear programme and lie about the existence of its nuclear arsenal.

If the People's Republic's nuclear program is civilian in nature, the People's Republic must commit to never developing nuclear armament and allow the international community to ensure that this vow is upheld. The possibility of a nuclear arms race is an issue that concerns the entire international community and cannot be treated as a bilateral issue by the People's Republic. By rejecting calls for openness, Kilkila is fostering mistrust and fear amongst its neighbors.

The Constitutional State's civilian nuclear program has been accessible and open since its inception, and Touzen regularly updates the international community about the state of its nuclear power plants.

As is official policy of this ministry, we will not comment about the Ministry of External Affairs' proposed idea of a Touzen nuclear arsenal.

We will not allow double-standards to be applied to the People's Republic of Vangala. There will be no international inspection of Vangala's nuclear programme before Touzen declares its possession of nuclear weapons.

World hails triumph of Vangalan diplomacy

The international community and media has commended the diplomatic efforts of the People's Republic of Vangala regarding the conflict in Solaren, with successful Vangalan-mediated discussions, chaired by External Affairs Minister Ajoy Qamaruzzaman, resulting in an amicable agreement between Carentania and the European Defence Federation on the future of the wartorn country, which also included the concerns of the Solaren people. Minister Qamaruzzaman today praised both sides in a statement to the National People's Assembly, and promised to continue Vangala's campaign for peace.

The People's Republic of Vangala quickly intervened after escalating tensions between Carentania and the European Defence Federation due to misunderstandings and a lack of communication. Seeking to preserve the integrity and pride of the Solaren nation and people, by avoiding division and military occupation by the belligerent powers, and prevent further bloodshed, Vangala offered to host secret negotiations, blocking unwanted outside influence.

The agreement recognises the Solaren National Congress as the provisional government and will broaden its membership, and promises a democratic, popular regime for post-war Solaren. Extremist elements will be excluded from governance, and freedom of traffic in the Long Sea is guaranteed. Both Carentania and the European Defence Federation have also vowed to take action to minimise civilian casualties and bring a swift end to the war.

As a neutral and uninvolved international party the Republic is prepared to assist in maintaining peace and stability in the Far East by offering to inspect Vangalan nuclear facilities.

The People's Republic of Vangala does not consider Uusimaa a neutral or uninvolved party, with regular anti-Communist rhetoric in its foreign policy statements and open sympathising with Vangala's enemies. Several nations can attest to the peaceful nature of our nuclear programme, and we will not compromise our national security and sovereignty by accepting international inspection as a result of outsider pressure.

The People's Republic of Vangala is endangering the national security of numerous other states by its passive-aggressive obscurantism and, subsequently, its own national security. It is accepted protocol amongst the members of the international community to confer with each other in a communicative attitude about nuclear issues. The People's Republic must cooperate with the international community if it wants to stand as an equal partner in dialog on the world stage.

It is a sad state of affairs for the Occident indeed if two nominally democratic institutions must come to the table of an authoritarian power widely believed to sponsor terrorist organizations and insurgencies abroad in order to resolve their differences. The failure of the Occident to be able to handle it's own issues is a worrysome, yet ever more common, trend which the Orient continues to take note of. Furthermore, the trust shown in the diplomatic dealings of a country which can not successfully negotiate or represent its own foreign policy on a regional stage is disconcerting; it is little wonder that all of the Occident is poised to destroy each other.
