As Marquette is vacating his map spot, I would like to apply for the spot. The new name of my country will be Castile, though that may change, with Toledo as my capital, center of country.

As people are not thrilled with Castile, it will likely be Coronada with Tolede as the capital

Please briefly describe your cultural makeup, or tell me which plots ideal for you. I find myself quite busy, both studying for tests, working on GIS posters, and doing this map, so reviewing your news thread to get a hint is a little out of my scope at this moment. I'm intent to get the map put out by this weekend, though.

Well, we're a pretty large country of French-like origin. Going by the Helsinki map, and assuming none of the already-marked countries are no longer active, we'd like to claim 209, 210, and 211 (or just 211, if necessary). It would also be interesting to plop New Paristan in spot 300. If some of the larger countries are no longer active, then we'd love to claim one of the larger spots on the coast (for example, I don't know how active Warre is, but his spot would be nifty).

Capital City is Montmartre, and it should be placed on a waterway, maybe on the coast.

I assume you want northern latitudes then (I hope to include a lat-long system in new map). 209 was claimed by Capitollium, 208/211 are in limbo waiting for Culanor to decide (tentatively giving him 208 instead of 211 as he claimed it first, and the circumstances for his decision change no longer exist)

Alternatively, if #300 is interesting, Radilo and Guiana (both "French" colonial states) and Anglyn (an older "English" colonial state) both sit near 300. A new straight will separate Anglyn and Radilo via what is currently Republica de Sur and northern #300. A small bit of North-300 and South-RdS will form a new plot, while 300 will retain most of its landmass. This is a eurocentric area you may be interested in. If you need an example of this redefined region before you make a choice between 210, 211 and 300/new plot, tell me and I'll get one to you in around 1-2 hours when I get back home to the PC and photoshop.

I will be changing my map request from spot 101 to map spot 208, unless somebody has already claimed it, in which case I would be requesting spot 209. Mainly because of Warre complaining. And plus I certainly don't mind having vast tracks of land. Also I would like to be neighbors with Breotonia.

Well would you want a person who's got a history of tinpot dictatorships without much/any real historical background filled out being your neighbor in BOTH directions? I think not.

That said, #208 would probably be your best bet, or [as #211 or #208 one or the other are going to be used by Culanor]; one of those two.
