MÅLMÖHOLM: Hundreds of thousands of Scanian citizens braved the winter's cold to pay their respects to their former King who died on Friday from a massive heart attack. He was interned in the Royal Crypt of the Royal Cathedral in Målmöholm. The funeral was attended by the Heads of State and Government of AGE states as well as selected guests. He was eulogised by the Executive Chancellor in her new function as the Chair of the Assembly of the States Union. She described the King as a 'man of the People' who enjoyed fishing with his subjects near his private residence in Mårhalm. After the speeches from the dignitaries. The passing King was given a 21 gun salute before his body was taken forever into the bowels of the Crypt.

This marks the official end of mourning of the passed King and the start of the process to elect a new one. When the Kings body is formally laid to rest tonight, the candidacy will officially open. Under the Instrument of Government Act, 1918, each Province of the Union is permitted to nominate one candidate and the voting shall continue in secret until someone has a simple majority of 50%+1.

It is with great joy to announce the successful completion of the Assembly and to formally announce the election of Karl-Björn Bergsköld to the position of the Kung av Skånskige Statsunionen (King of the Union of Scanian States). The new king hails from the Province of Målmöholm and was elected on the fourth ballot over Juliana Månablick from Nystrå.

As per the rules set out in the Instrument of Government Act, 1918, the new King is unmarried, employed as a lecturer at the University of Målmöholm in the Department of Government and 24 years of age.

The formal investiture ceremony will take place in exactly one week at the Royal Cathedral in Målmöholm.

Local Mayor assassinated by Batavian Security Service.

MÅLMÖHOLM: Approximately ten minutes ago, the Chancellor of Justice confirmed reports that the local mayor of Sjärholm, Gunnar Hammersjöld, was assassinated by an unnamed Batavian security agent. It is unclear at this time, why the mayor of a town of 10,250 was targeted by the Batavian services and the Chancellory of Justice refused to answer questions beyond the simple confirmation that he was found dead with a local prostitute in a car with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

There is speculation that the Mayor might have been involved in arms trafficking into the unstable communist country and that the Batavians ordered his execution to stop the follow of arms that is fuelling unrest in Batavia which has seen hundreds killed already.

Already the Opposition is demanding the Government retailate against Batavia, something the Government has so far not responded to.

MÅLMÖHOLM: Hundreds of thousands of Scanians showed up today at the Royal Cathedral to catch a glimpse of the stylish young King being officially invested today. Major dignitaries from the AGE countries and select allies were in Målmöholm to see the ceremony that is steeped in history.

In the first part of the ceremony, the King was asked to select his official name which he decided to keep his birth name. Therefore, he will officially be known as Carl-Björn I, with his first name changed to standard Scanian spelling. Traditionalists were upset that he did not select a more traditional name like Carl-Erik or Gustav but they respected his choice.

Following the announcement of the official name of the King, the Archbishop of Lundholm, head of the Church in Scania administered the Royal Oath and placed the Scanian Crown on the head of the King. He was then robed in the purple robes of state and given the spectre of the Storriksdag.

After, the King walked down the aisle of the Church and address the People outside for the first time as King.

The King has already announced he will ask Miriam Clark-Mallström to continue in the post of Executive Chancellor and continue this session of the Storriksdag.

It would be best for the Scanian authorities to thoroughly investigate the crime scene before reporting these baseless bits of information. For the safety and security of the People's Republic, any increases of Scanian forces on the border will be matched by our own.

The government of Montelimar is very concerned if the report of the assassination of a Scanaian elected official was committed by a Batavian agent is proved accurate as the ramifications of such an act has the potential of being far reaching. We are also concerned if it is true that the same government official was responsble for smuggling weapons into Batavia , fueling the violence occuring there, as that too could have dire consequences. His Majesty's government will therefore monitor this situation closely and hope that this incident is not a indication of things to come.

At ten this morning, the agent from the Batavian Security Services was found in the town of Sjärholm. Upon attaining his arrest, the agent committed suicide through use of poison found in a small capsule in his mouth. The agent has been confirmed be known to the Säkerhetspolisen as Agent LHM 32. The body will be given an autopsy by the Provincial Coroner's Office and then a proper burial. Should the family of such agent come forward, his proper name shall be added to his grave.

The Government of Skånskige Statsunionen is deeply concerned by the actions taken by the Batavian People's Republic and will consider, in collaboration with our AGE allies, appropriate retailatory actions, up to and including use of force.
