Fulanistan seeks admittance into the EDF for several reasons. Our main goal is to provide the EDF with a strategic ally in Himyar. We believe this will allow both the EDF and Fulanistan to work cooperatively for peace and security in Himyar, and ensure the stability of the region. Secondly we wish to make strong ties in Northern Europe to build a stronger economic relationship among EDF members. We believe our admittance in to the EDF will not affect our relationship with Batavia as they are very supportive of decisions we make, especially in the wake of the Commonwealth crisis as it helps distinguish us as a truly independent nation.

It is the Sultanate's stated opinion that a foreign alliance based in Northern Europe, despite our respect and appreciation of its role there, has no role to play in Himyar. We ask Fulanistan to reconsider its application to the EDF. The EDF has yet to be proven as a force for security in any region and has in fact crippled the Council of Nations, thus making security harder to implement and provide to the free people of Himyar and beyond. We believe Fulanistan should consider applying to the Hertha Accord, which has similar goals as those Fulanistan looks for and will surely be welcomed as a new member due to its democratic institutions.
Furthermore, Fulanistan would certainly benefit from the economic section of the Hertha Accord. Fulanistan will have have easy entrance to Tyskreich, the fastest growing economy in the North, and Frescania, the modern economic powerhouse of Himyar.

We wish to correct two errors made by the Office of the Secretary General of the Hertha Accord. The EDF has indeed proven to be a force for security, right in its own backyard of Scandinavia. Their valiant and brave efforts with their peacekeeping mission in northern Batavië have saved lives and continue to maintain peace while negotiations take place.
Our second correction is more of a clerical one. Batavië is actually the fastest growing economy in the North at 7,2% per annum growth compared with 4,2% per annum growth in Tyskreich, although we would never discount the Tyskreicher market, a fellow Northern Council member.
We hope that third parties refrain from meddling in the decision making of the Fulanistani government. We believe that they are quite capable of making their own decisions.

The Republic of Tyskreich notes that the Batavian foreign services has attempted to slight the Hertha Accord's membership and would like to provide some clarification upon the libelous slander provided by the Government of Batavië.
First of all, over the past decade the Republic of Tyskreich has been the fastest developing economy in the Northern Hemisphere. Picking itself up from the ruins of a communist government to becoming a free market economy. The Batavian Government fails to note that their current economic development while quick in the year thus far of 2010, is not comparable over any longer period of time.
Secondly, the EDF has indeed failed in Scandinavia, monopolizing the Batavian peacekeeping mission and clearly creating a wedge in relations with the rest of the world. In the mean time, a Security Council led by a majority of EDF members refused to tackle the issue on a global scale instead seeking glory for themselves and their own alliance.
Thirdly, we'd appreciate it if the Batavian Government maintained a neutral course of action in their affairs. It is becoming clearer to the people of Tyskreich that when allegations of neo-imperialism are made by the Hajri people this is the exact sort of meddling they are defining. Again, Batavië looks to create another way to bring Fulanistan under it's sphere of influence, in line with the EDF, whom donates generously to the coffers of the Batavian Government.
The three slights totaled together is not only a diplomatic insult of massive level, but a feeling of betrayal especially after the signing of the Treaty of Götköping. As a result, Ballhausplatz will recall its ambassador to Batavië. Additionally, Tyskreich will refuse to adhere to the conditions of the Treaty of Götköping until a formal apology is made on behalf of the Batavian people. What this entails is that scheduled elections for the Northern Council are hereby indefinitely postponed as we do not feel like taking part in a construct hosted in Batavië at this place in time.
Our citizens feel duped and we echo the calls of the Sultan of Hajr; that the Batavian Government remove themselves from their neo-colonial ambitions and refrain from the affairs involving the Fulani people.
