The new Premier has been elected, and it is Premier Olaf Detlev of the Freiheit Workers Party. His opponent, Jakob Diethelm lost by a whopping 32%! Detlev has already chosen his new cabinet whcih follows as below:

Minister of Intelligence: Jonathon Faust
Minister of Defence: Viktor Kaiser

Only time will tell if the promises of Detlev come true. He said during the election that he would ebnsure that the Freiheitian Military would be bulked up, with advanced weapons, better training, and more funding. He also said that he would begin developing a nuclear program and ensure that Freiheit would be a world power before his term was over.

The developement of nuclear weapons is not a goal any nation should set itself and we hope that the connection between increased military funding - which in itself is worrying enough - and the goal of developing a nuclear program has been made purely on behalf of the editor and does not represent any motive by the Premier to acquire weapons of mass destruction. Proliferation of nuclear weapons is frowned upon by the international community and by Carentania alike and were it part of the Freiheitian state policy to support such, we would make sure that the European states work together to prevent this.

I, Achim Friedmann, head of Foriegn Affairs would like to ensure Carentania and the rest of Europe that Friehiet has no plans of develpoing nuclear weapons. Also, the increased military funding is just to ensure that we can ensure the safety of our nation. We have no plans on acting aggresively with any other nations. We may be increasing military spending, but we are also making steps to give money to Organizations that help the European continent as a whole.

In a recent poll, citizens of Freiheit were asked whether they considered themselves to be patriotic. 87% of them said that they were. This is a huge difference between last years results, in which only 53% of citizens claimed to be patriotic. Some experts have begun say that it is not just mere patriotism that the Freiheitian citizens are expeirencing, but that is actually nationalism.

In other news, crim has dropped dramatically, do to more spending on the Police force. However many people are beginning to wonder if a strong military and police force was worth the cutbacks made to Public Transport, and Welfare which have both been made obscelet.

The Defence Ministry has recently bought a rather large amount of weapons. More than has ever been bought in Friehietian History. Many protesters were seen marching outside of the Premier's Mansion. They were demanding an end to the governments countless spending on the military. They had good reason to be angry, for the government had to make enormous cutbacks, on education, and almost all of its subsidies.

"Its just not fair for our children, they are being subjected to posters glamourizing military life, and now they are having to have share books, and have fewer desks in thier classrooms all just to have thier nation be strong." One protestor said to our camera.

The police, which had encircled the protest the second it began, eyed the portestors cautiously. They were looking for any sign of violent intent. And they found it, a pistol went off inside one of the protestor's pockets. The police were ordered to shoot tear gass into the crowd, becuase all they had heard was the gun shot. Almost all of the protestor's were wounded and arrested. 6 of them were killed.

A remarkable grow in industry has been occuring in Freiheit, which has been growing since the 1990's say top economists. It has been sparked however by Premier Detlev's genius economy stragtegies.

In other news the violent rebels who attempted to revolt Detlev horribly failed. Due to lack of support, and sheer stupidity, the rebels were not able to take over St. George which they had attempted to do. They had been calling for 'freedom, and 'civil libverties'... which had they not been so blindsided they would have realized Premier Detlev already has given them these things. They had bunkered down in Blau Square, and so The Freiheitian military excercised its might by wiping them all out. All hail Detlev, and all hail Freiheit!

The Freiheit Workers Party has offiacally declared itself the only legal party in the rest of the nation. All other parties have been banned for "Internal Security Issues" said the Premier. Many believe this to be the act of an Authoritarian Dictator, however Detlev assures us that he will make sure we all keep our freedoms, and our liberties.

We condemn this single-handed abolishment of democracy in Freiheit and will cease all cooperation with the regime, until the people's power over the government is reestablished.

We would like to be able to explain to Carentania's government that the only reason the party did this was too eliminate all possibility of another revolt such as the one we had in St. George. We need to erase all other options in order to make sure our people dont feel the need to violently overthrow a Premier they themselves elected.

The statement of the Ministry makes no sense. If given the ability to withdraw authority from a person that is supposed to be their representative, there will be no violent revolts. Furthermore, the mere idea to use repression and authority to deal with social problems and political unrest is reactionary to the core and not in accordance with socialist ideas. Freiheit should rather look to solve their problems rather than to suppress the symptoms that arise from them.

The Commandry of Kyiv and Novgorod condemns the totalitarian behaviour the Freiheitian Labor Parties political regime. The international community will not tolerate such rougish behaviour and the continued denial of citizens basic rights.

We do not intend to pressure the government of Freiheit for our own sake, but for the sake of the people of Freiheit and their elementary rights. Freiheit is not the first country compromising socialist ideals, its regime not the first to betray the vision of a free and egalitarian society for a corrupted dictatorship. But Carentania, as most advanced country of Europe and example to the socialist world, will stand principled on these issues. We can not cooperate with countries that are headed in the direction of oppression and tyranny.

Carentania has an obligation to the working class and it will continue to stay true to its promise to the proletariat, to fight for its rights everywhere throughout Europe.

As yet another wave of violence hits the city of St. George, Detlev steps down from power. Saying, "That he had no intention to allow things to get so out of hand. And he had no idea his actions would harm the coutnry he loved so much."

Citizens are now chanting on the streets, asking for a Communism modeled after that of Carentania. An election will be held in three weeks (3 days RL time) for a new Premier. Also a band of rebels responsible for most of the revolts in St. George have arrested all of the Freiheitian workers party offiacals, only Detlev remains free.

Candidates and Political Parties Established

Three candidates have been established for the Premiership;

Martin Sunter (Liberal Party)

Christoph Berthold (Conservative Party)

and Viktor Burkhard (The Nationalist Party)

Candidate Sunter has built his campaign on the ideals of building a more Democratic Government, yet promises to still keep the countries strong Socialist ideals. In a rally of his at St. George he said that, "In Order to compete with the other powers of the world, we need to find a healthy medium. For to long our country has been tossed between the extremes of government. Like recently when our government decided to take Socialism to the extreme and create a Communist Dictatorship and waste all our funds on weapons, and pointless spending. Freiheit needs a government that will not only rule over its people, but care for them as well."

Candidate Berthold has been stating that he believes our government is already set up in a way that is perfect for the proliteriate. In his speech at Price he said, "Just becuase one greedy corrupt man turned our country into a bloody totalitarian state does not mean that all men would do the same. Our government has been functioning perfectly fine for about 90 years under this Communist government. Obviously a few reforms are necessary to prevent further abuse of power, but overall our government is a great one... and so is our country!"

Candidate Burkhard is being backed by the newly formed, and quite sketchy, Nationalist Party. It is made up mostly of the violent rebels behind the attacks on St. George and the arrests of the former Workers Party members. At his rally in Blau Square, he gave a very long, very loud speech. Here is an excerpt from it, "Freiheit is a proud nation! Freiheit is a strong nation! And Freiheit deserves to own all the land it can get its hand on! Obviously the lands around us are inferior, they do not have the strength that we do. So why not conquer these people and help them to realize our superiority? It is The Freiheitian Burden that we must spread our greatness to the world. Vote for me and we shall accomplish this!"

Election in one week!

The elections are coming up in exactly seven days. Now only two candidates remain! Martin Sunter of the Liberal Party, and Christoph Berthold of the Conservative Party. Viktor Burkhard dropped out of the race after it became clear that he would not win. Here is an excerpt of his Drop-Out Speech;

"Clearly the people of Freiheit are not ready to carry the heavy burden that we are forced to have. However, the Nationalist Front will continue to fight for our nation! So do not worry Freiheit I will be back next time. Until next time."

He has since the speech dissapeared, which came to great relief to citizens of St. George, who have been subject to riots in the streets on behalf of the Nationalist Front.

The government of Aulrania, with the permission of our President Gen. Tetchnicov would like to place our foreign support to candidate Burkhard and the Nationalist Party in Freiheit. Clearly this man and his party are the only ones with the enthusiasm and charisma to lead our neighbouring nation to the east. Aulrania wishes Mr. Burkhard all the luck in his campaign and to a hopeful success in the general direction of his nation. We hope he retracts his decision to step down.

Polls Now Open!

The polls are now open for voting, and already there has been a huge turnout! Lines that are stretching as far as 100 meters have gathered in front of some of the voting booths. So far Candidate Sunter has received most of the votes, but not by to much of a majority. Candidate Berthold still has a chance to win. Here is the current coverage on percentage of votes recieved:

Sunter: 23%
Berthold: 19%

Keep in mind that there is still a large amount of people who have not yet voted.

Aulrania Endorses Burkhard

Despite the lack of support from the Freiheitian populace, Aulrania seems to have given its offiacal support to the still ex-candidate Viktor Burkhard. He has not resurfaced to the public however, and is still not going to be part of the election.

Nationalist Front Kidnaps Detlev

The vigilante gang known as the Nationalist Front launched a full scale assualt on ex-dictator Olaf Detlevs gaurded mansion in the quiet town of Delta up in the countryside. There was a fire-fight that lasted for about two hours said local residents, then about six vehicles drove out of the estate. Two of Detlev's private hired force of mercenary gaurds were killed, and another 18 were wounded. The flag of the nationalist front was left in Detlev's main study room and he is know where to be found. We can only assume that Detlev has been captured.

Election Over! Sunter declared new 'President'!

Candidate Martin Sunter of the Liberal Party has won the election. He won by 12% of the votes, he has already ushered in a few new reforms. For one the new name for our Executive Leader is to be President, instead of the previous name Premier. Also he has also changed the economy a little bit, instead of all of it be state controlled he has privatized all indutsries except for the following; Healthcare, Hospitals, Car Manufacturing, Banks, and Energy resources. All other industries are now to be made private business's. However outsourcing is still illegal, so huge corporations will not be able to invade our soil.

He announced today that under his Presidency the government would begin to move away from its oppressive communist path, instead it would begin moving foward towards a new free future.

Nationalist Front Reveals Video of Detlev Execution!

The Nationalist Front, led by ex-candidate Viktor Burkhard has put out a video of the public execution of ex-dictator Olaf Detlev on the internet. The video displays Detlev on his knees with four masked men behind him. Olaf gives a breif statement about how, Sunter is a weak president and that Burkhard would have been much better had he been elected. Then one of the masked men pulls out a revolver and fires one shot to the back of Detlev's head. President Sunter has responded by saying, "Detlev may have been a cruel dictator, but he still deserved a fair trial, and not the brutal execution that he got. The Nationalist Front is a vigilante organization that seems to be getting increasingly violent. They are now guilty of murder. The Federal Investigation Force has already launched an investigation to find, and hopefully get rid of these rebels."
