Victoria Palace; Altaisk

Many people assembled in front of the Victoria Palace. It was a custom for any elected premier to give a speech. Sidorenko saw yesterday the results and celebrated with his friends, but now the time has come for the last move in his struggle. The last speech. He was waiting for the clock to show 8 pm in Maksym Tomaszewski’s office. After this speech he will reenter the palace and go to his new office, which Karin left. Alen was wearing his black ProNat uniform with silver ribbons on the collar. Alen graduated the Aleksandar Vinokourov Military Academy two years earlier holding now the rank of Lieutenant. But he knew that after this speech everything will change he will become Hetman and supreme commander of the People’s Liberation Army he will finally become the leader he dreamed of, leader which works for the people. He wanted to be known as the Premier which made Media a powerful nation and a respected country. He was now wearing his old ProNat uniform, to also create the image around him, that of a defender of the people.

As he got out of building, he approached a podium on the terrace. Alen saw the huge mass of people looking at him. From time to time the magnesium of the blitz made a dazzling spark. He approached the podium and took a last glance at the people assembled in front of the Palace before starting the speech; it looked like more than a half of the city was in the Revolution Square waiting for his speech.

“Good evening, comrades. I wish to thank you all for the confidence you gave me. Your confidence made me see that this result in the elections is not what the opposition is calling as a fraud, but the wish of the people to see a change. The Popular Front of National Converge isn’t made by populists who promise you everything from the riches of the Altai Mountains to the Moon. It is a faction made by people who really want to make Media a powerful nation and to make life better; this being shown by the diversity of ideals converged within the front.

Comrades, we have now started a new era in which our lives will improve. The change from Altai to Media was done through a series of phases. The first phase was made through the revolution and the name change. For that I will like to thank our veteran revolutionaries who risked their lives and their family’s life for the socialist ideals. The second phase was made of the cleansing of the nation from its dictatorial past. My predecessors have changed the name Altai to Media. The name Altai, as a nation was a reminder of us Medians of how in the past the people which migrated from Swieczemia and Miroslavl to Median lands created a society in which Slavs were seen as more superior than the Median natives. My predecessors have fought for the truth; during the rule of Premier Karin many people were punished for their crimes during the Hetmanate. There are many other things done by my predecessors to fight against the Hetmanate.

But now, before going into the third phase, meaning to start to develop Media in a socialist way so that all our exports will be made of processed products, there is still one thing remembering us of the Hetmanate fail: Zamosk. This historic region was captured by the Talemantine Empire few days before the start of our revolution. The invasion was a blow to the Median people as imperialists over the western border still believe they live in the Middle Ages where one can simply conquer a region and the peasants working there don’t care who leads them because they now they are left alone if they pay tribute. But I am glad to say that the people of Media evolved and developed a social conscience. They know that the clique in Talemaniki is just a junta of criminals. For that I will like to congratulate the members of the resistance in Zamosk for their last year’s action: the bombing of one military base and two police stations. Even if no information about the severity of the bombings was leaked from the regime’s headquarters, I have reports which say that many of those bombings are successful. This type of action is the one which really shows a clear message to the Talemaniki criminals, that the Median people resists and is ready to defend its integrity!
People of Media, hear me closely as I will make a vow, I will do anything possible to reunite Media! In my term in office of Premier, the people in Rovograd will see a Median flag flowing from the town hall!”

As he finished his speech with this promise, the crowd burst into applauses and cheers. As he saw the members of the People’s Assembly coming towards him to congratulate him and journalists coming to take interviews and pictures of him, Alen knew that while the people was divided during the Hetmanate, this has changed and now everybody was ready to make the step and try to liberate Zamosk.
