Havok! Comics is looking for export target markets, as well as is in the process of making 'national superheroes' aimed primarily at export but also to expand the comics reading past-time to the rest of the world and the Lyric style graphic novel style as well. Already with plenty of national success including notable super-heroes such as The Mahogany Hound and 'Mac Lir'; as well with a cooperative publishing deal with the Havenite Small Media Co-operative of comics featuring 'The Crimson Torch'; it aims to replicate the same success elsewhere. What does that mean for you, the reader of this hand-out and letter? The opportunity to help Havok! localize comics into your nation's native language (and be both paid and recognized for it), or in the case of the various distributors which this has been mailed to, being the first place the people of your glorious nation think to go when they'd like to purchase Havok! Comics which they have yet to subscribe to, or to find fellow fans of the various series of imprints we create.

History of Havok! Comics and the Lyric Comic Artform

The top Compact, Lyric/Culyric, and possibly world-wide producer of comics, or 'graphic tales' as they tend to call them, Havok! comics originated in the 1890s when the 'Old Lyrism' movement was gaining steam, and archaeologists, families, and many others began inflaming a fervor of nostalgia for that time, especially the murals and tapestries which were used by the Old Lyric, 'AnLyric' peoples; the ancestors of the modern Lyrican nations of Bantyr, Carnish Havenshire, Tyrculir, (the) Ivernia(s), and Warre.

These tapestries almost always told epic stories- and given the costs of filming and transporting movies, those graphic minded storytellers within Tyrculir whom could not gain the funds necessary to tale movies, or even direct plays or radio-stories, took to the pages of the published work; creating the first graphic tales, comics, and indeed graphic novels (ooc; At least in Tyrculir, assuming someone wants to bitch about me 'claiming' such a thing. )

This led to great popularity, and the Havok! comics publishing companies soon found themselves telling tales in non-Lyric languages, particularly the English tongue- both as a teaching tool for schools and would-be speakers of English, and to expand the cultural influence of Boreas on the English speaking world. In addition, while the Lyric language editions still exist and are published throughout the national body of Tyrculir, English language versions have largely taken over national supremacy in publishing, both as an aforementioned teaching tool- and because it is viewed that the same edition can be sold throughout the region with some folks understanding it, though these English language versions are always included with an alternate side version which is in Warreic Lyrige, the most prominent of the Culyric Lyrige languages within the confederation.

Domestic Comics Popular within Tyrculir

Mac Lir- A retooling of classic comics Franchise 'Manaan Mac Lir', about the Gaelige God of the Sea and High King of the Fictional Mag Mell and Abalach, the Golden Age Fighter has been retooled as a modern King who has inherited immense power from an ancient Artifact, and must find a place between using it to further his Kingdom's aims, and his own inner peace. Explorations of diplomatic tensions are rumored to be reviewed, and the comic is going out of it's way to create fictional nations as to not offend real nations which may or may not be analogous.

The Mahogany Hound- In Homage to the Classic Opinions Magazine, and Using one of the Ceremonial titles of Former Golden Age hero, this modern take on four-color heroics features cross overs with various superheroes, and is likely to give us a glimpse of a retooled version of the prestigious Orange Adventurer's adventure 'Duke Dracuvie', the former Vistrasian Imperialist Villain. In this retooling, the powers of Setanter, the Cu of Aodh and the Tyrells; are bestowed to a wounded Warreic hero whom was wounded in a fictional battle for the Isles of Caorachstyr.

((It should be noted the 'classic' era of comics in Warreic understanding is the 1890s-1910s, when comics, both the funny kind and the pulp novel kind, were both firmly popular.))

Connlyr the Crusader- A hero which while his feats may be 'super' isn't a modern hero by any means, Havok! Comics is the only authorized distributor of esteemed Iverni-Havenite-Lyric Author, Arthur Krom Howard's pulp-adventure masterpiece's (comic) adaption, Connlyr the Crusader. Set in the mythic ArdBoran age, Connlyr the Crusader fights ancient threats to humanity and the ancient Lyric people, while seeking wealth, prestige, honor, fame, and the occasional bonny lass.

Current Export Market Aimed Comics-

Colonel Fennia- Originally styled 'Colonel Fennia! And the Norsk Menace', by Havok! Comics, the level of racism felt naturally apparent in that title, as well as the chances of damaging export markets within Arendaal, Suionia, Ostveg, and Fey, prompted the shortening of the title. In Colonel Fennia! A duty-loving Fennian private who is found to be too sickly for more than garrison duty volunteers for a new 'super soldier' program attempting to stand-on-par with heroes such as The Mahogany Hound. In Colonel Fennia, they succeed, and Juuso Perkele becomes Fennia's greatest warrior, and despite lack of experience or time spent, is fast-tracked into the status of Colonel to clamor public support for the Project.

Odin!- To quote the premise, "What if the Norse Gods weren't simply deities, but actually an ancient race which crash-landed in Scania thousands of years ago? What if they had lived in decadence for centuries, before a coalition of Celtic Heroes, Scanian Sorcerers, and the first Kings of Arendaal, Suionia, Danmark, Ostveg, and the Lyric states were forced to seal them? What if this was all the work of Loki, and he twisted the world into the twisted visage of chaos, using things such as a mighty powerful Shadow 'Fenris Union' and a number of demons, to force humanity into cowing to him? What if a sickly boy discovered the still frozen form of Odin, and after coming into contact with the alien being, became his host to fight the Tyranny of Loki?"

The Impetuous Owl- While not strictly a 'Super' hero story, the Impetuous Owl features Oikawa-Touzen's greatest detective, who fights crime and has skill in martial arts to put him on par in battle with the strongest of heroes. A story which mixes the moral story of what a rich person should do with their wealth (Asaki Hiro, the Impetuous Owl, is a heavily active philanthropist in the comic), martial arts, ninja! action, mystery, and detective drama, as well as some of the political under-leanings of the post-delegation-ism movement, (The Impetuous Owl has swore to take off his cowl, mask, and cape forever if he loses the people of Nagakyo City's approval); it seems to be a very potent possible mix for this summer's comic scene. Also notable? Mister Asaki's catchphrase, "Oh really?!?" is catching on all ready.

Zeke-Ly the Zeretorian- The first attempt by Havok! Comics at a comic aimed at the Slyvanian audience or including heavy amounts of sci-fi space story elements, Zeke-Ly the Zeretorian chronicles the story of a Sylvanian boy who finds that he is not Sylvanian, or even European, by birth. One of the thousands of Zeretorians seeded across the cosmos as their planet made its fell strokes, his exact limits haven't been addressed in the comics yet, but it's a refreshing take against the super-soldier angle so often followed when even conceptualizing the superhero story. If the 'Zeretorians' in the story here referenced are the same as those monarcho-capitalist despots in the fictional nation of Anglyn as featured in several story-arcs within both the Mahogany Hound and the Crimson Torch comics of Havenite fame, remains to be seen.

The Crimson Torch- While not the only one of his number, this Havenite hero was born to poor pig farmers and made it all the way into the ranks of the Havenite Helio testing co-op before his life was changed forever. In an attack by Breotonian operatives, his helio was nearly crashed into the Havenite straits. Saved by a being claiming to be the guardian spirit of all cooperative work, he was reborn as Havenshire (and one of Europe's) first heroes, The Crimson Torch! This series is a more mass marketed approach, drawn and written in the Lyric style, and aimed to be mass translated to be exported to any country that wants it, at Havok! 's decision or that of the Havenite Small Media Co-operative, which co-owns the story and characters. Havok! has already toned down the tone of the original in regards to its communist rhetoric, and has been calling this an 'adaption' rather than a retelling.

Lady Liberty- Proposed titles actually called this, "Lady Liberty: The Cannie Crusader" But concerns about ethno-racial offense at the use of that term, as well as concerns about wasting an opportunity to make ANOTHER Cantignian superhero if the imprint's sells go well within the Covenant and the Micro-covenants; the title has simply been truncated to 'Lady Liberty'. This series, the first to feature a female as main protagonist, runs on the basis of some islands and valleys within the vast implarian realms which Cantignia oversees being utterly unexplored. A young lady from Vesper, apprentice (amateur) archaeologist alongside her father, ends up running into pirates and her father, wounded but refusing to leave sends her into the ruins of a nearby settlement which first-hand examination claimed to be 'as old as Tibur, if not older'. When inside, and touching a bronze-age helm which seemed to lay in rest on the altar, young miss Louise Newcomb an old voice which claimed to even represent Athena (of Tibur Mythology fame) herself, and suddenly filled the young lady with the power of a demi-goddess so long as she donned the helm. Using this new-found power, she fights off the pirates, gets her father to a hospital, and feels the need to protect the weak, the innocent, and the godless from evil within Implaria (even though she disbelieves the power comes from any 'goddess'.)

The Ivernian Eagle- The Ivernian Eagle is not the perfect definition of a self-made man, but if you took away his clann's wealth and prestige, Jon Padraig Aodh-Mor would definitely fit that bill. He is the closest thing to an Ivernian national superhero, and his tale is one of a self-made man who traveled the world learning martial arts and honing his detective skills. Who honed his knowledge of Aerodynamics and who even climbed to the highest mountains in Argatir in search of a mysterious metal rumored to be the most lightweight and durable metal possible if placed in an alloy. Mining it himself, and escaping a battle with several native Ivernian Himyari over the metals and his very freedom (as they wished to take him as a slave) the crimson locked hero escaped with a leap down the mountain, and while he came to a crushing stop at the end, Wade Bryan, the legendary Lyric hero known as the Mahogany Hound! Assented to a blood transfusion to save young Jon Padraig's life. While it took time to recover, in the end, he recovered and thrived, gaining athletic skill like he never had before, and soon designing his own costume and his own jet powered wing-frame. And so! The Ivernian Eagle was born.

Sasquatch!- Anyone who has ever talked to a rural Cascadian has likely heard the myth, the story, of 'The Sasquatch'. A beast which is a cognate or relative to the wildling-other mythological creature, 'The Wendigo' as well as possibly the Touyou-ese mythological creature, 'The Yeti'. A beast which walks on two legs and resembles what one might expect to be the 'missing link' between humans and apes (as theorized by evolutionary scientists and biologists). Sasquatch! Claims the myth is real, and features a young man on his quest for vengeance against the mythical beast which destroyed his family's farm. As the first issue reveals, after he was stabbed in a bar-fight by a Cascadian "Other"? His hunt for the beast and vengeance might be more metaphorical than anything else, because young John Calver? He has great hunting skills, a nearly deity level of regeneration and natural claws upon his finger tips when angered. While it remains to be seen if he truly is the sasquatch in "Sasquatch!" it seems to be an interesting melodramatic ride so far.

¡Captain Frescania!- Captain Frescania is a late-comer to the announcements, along with Sasquatch! and the Aurarian hero, "¡El Jaguar Oro!" Captain Frescania represents the same type of national hero as The Mahogany Hound! or Colonel Fennia! do to their own nations, but unlike the latter hero, Captain Frescania wasn't created by some clandestine Frescanian governmental policy. Captain Jose Vargas, one of the fastest advancing young officers within the Frescanian army stationed in the Bitumtinia region, after a horrible firefight with what seem to be communist aligned separatist forces, half of his troops inevitably are wounded with the battle continuing and no chances to save them or stopping the slaughter from continuing. Sobbing and praying to god, he inevitably is caught in a chemical explosion from the lab the communist aligned separatists were using to create a mystery formula. In the end, Mister Vargas finds in himself super human abilities, and with the passion even despite the explosion and seeming to be down and out, he rushes forward to save his men and turn the tide of the battle. Not lying on his report, Frescania inadvertently finds itself with a defend of justice, liberty, and the Frescanian way!

¡El Jaguar Oro!- The Gold Jaguar. A name which could easily be applied to the most majestic of that species, but which only could be applied to one man. Juan Artiza, a young man from Heredia who studied for a dual doctorate in botany and biology. Hired by an expedition which claims it's exploring how to best mine for coal and drill for oil in the province of Navadijos, Juan inadvertently finds himself dragged into a war between the natives of this region, who seem to speak perfect Frescanian and declare it 'The Kingdom of Amarillo Arce', the Kingdom of the Yellow Maple Tree, before attacking these invaders. Invaders who do seem to have weapons on-par with even that of the Aurarian military, as a battle breaks out. Sidelined and caught between two opposing forces, Juan fines himself staring at a tree which seems to drip maple syrup with the color of gold. Testing it the best he can in the middle of this weeklong battle, he finds that it is special. He finds that this is the tree which they were fighting for, and that the expedition was just a ruse to capture this tree, and as such capture the whole of Auraria with an army of super-soldiers readily made. When the battle inadvertently destroys the tree and wounds Juan, he finds himself drinking the syrup he collected from the tree for his tests, and inevitably stops the battle by disabling both sides fighting. The first of Aurarian heroes was born! El Jaguar Oro! The Golden Jaguar!

The Priest and the Bissa- A comic which challenges the concepts of any sort of superheroic comic as of yet produced by Havok! Comics or its (very small time) competitors, The Priest and the Bissa tells the story of a priest and the serpent, purportedly the same serpent which tempted Eve into biting the apple, doing god's bidding. For the Priest, a veteran of the Solaren War seeking redemption and answer to some of the dark dark things he saw, it is a path of answers and awakening of powers which have long lay in-wait in him. For the Bissa, it is one of redemption, for even as darkness and poison fills his heart and fangs, he feels he will never find peace or the love of god again if he does not redeem himself. Aimed at a mature audience, the Priest and the Bissa may very well produce controversy both inside its native Potenza, and beyond- especially with its gritty tone and its gunplay, as well as the heavy themes of witchcraft, demonic beings, and dark, venomous conspiracy. Can the Priest even trust the Bissa, in the end? Can the Bissa trust god, or the priest as god's instrument?

The Tale of Neibswialt- A daring test of what concepts work in the Cerulunian market, the Tale of Neibswialt is both a traditional superheroic comic which blends modern day super-heroics with fable telling and historical flashbacks. A story which primarily follows the legendary Cerulunian sword 'Niebswialt', within it some time, decades even, before the modern day that Samartian Saber of Blue Skies was stolen from the national museum and replaced with a forgery. The sword was in this tale initially stolen by Miroslav agents attempting to gain a crypto-'super weapon' for their nation, but shortly after its theft, the sword was taken by a being claiming the archangel Michael himself for 'use only by the worthy. Fast forward twenty years, to the Miroslav attempted invasion of Cerulunia. A boy who's figure was too weak to properly join the military hides some of his fellow Cerulunians in his family's cellar. When the Miroslav forces find them, they kill the Cerulunian military present, and move to execute the boy to make an 'example' of him. Seconds before the trigger is to be pulled, the calls of angels from above seem to distract the Miroslavs, and soon the boy notices an old, rusty, probably many centuries old sword. With the theo-communists sufficiently distracted, he reaches for it, and swings, and so Neibswialt returns to its old glory, and the boy, its chosen wielder, is transformed into an unlikely hero and after slaying the Miroslav forces and freeing his village, rushes to the nearest battle, some twenty miles away, where young Joseph meets the Cerulunian Super-Soldier, created in the same way as the Fennians had tried to copy the Mahogany Hounds super-soldier serum, the hero and soldier known as 'Marshal Cerulunia'. Soon after meeting him and helping him turn the tide of battle, this explosive double-length origin issue ends with Marshal Cerulunia offering the boy a chance to join the real Mezhist Army, and to take the boy on as his protege and apprentice.

The Phoenix and the Panther- A tale which blends the art styles of neo-traditional nethlian art, with the modern lyric comic form, The Phoenix and the Panther is notable for the fact that the concept and much of the initial writing, at least the first four or five story-arcs, were written cooperatively with a young Attreyan man who claimed to be a 'storyteller' and the best-selling author of the Connlyr the Crusader series of novels, Arthur Krom Howard, this story blends that of a mythological tale, a 'vision quest' and that of a superheroic story. Initially featuring a young slave in pre-revolution Attreyu, he is visited three times in one day by different birds. First, at sunset, by a hawk with a mouse in its mouth, second, at midnight with an owl in its mouth, and finally at the break of dawn when he is forced out of his quarters to pick up a queer smell. Here, he is greeted by a raven eating what appears to be an eyeball, before the slave-master of this plantation and his flunkies do to young David what they have done to all the male slaves old enough to hold a rifle on the farm. Burn them alive rather than have them work for the cause of freedom.

This double-length origin issue then cuts to a wandering native occidentian who continues wandering only to find his vision disrupted by continued sights of burning men, of ashes, and by the call in mid-daylight of the raven, the owl, and the hawk, flying above in a circle, and then in an almost collected pattern flying towards the plantation. Following them, he finds the smells of burning flesh outside the stockades of the big house and the rest of the 'plantation', on the woods at the edge of the fields, he sees a young man, burned so throughly whatever skin he had before the attack is long gone and replaced by the scorched and pitiful red, black, and white skin of a burned man. Surrounded by others who suffered the same fate, he seems to be barely alive, despite being burned alive. Following this wandering native using healing rituals and magics upon the young man, his skin returns, the pain fades, but strength untold comes forward, just in time to stop the further massacre of his fellow slaves.

What is planned for the continual adventures has not been decided, but the overly sensitive, queasy, and overly-christian are warned that this book may make them feel ill-at-ease.

Tehuantl- While if it was rendered in its English or Spanish name, 'Tehuantl', or 'Jaguar' might be easily confused for El Jaguar Oro, Tehuantl is a different sort of story and as such uses a different sort've word, a native Occidentian word for Occidentia's greatest cat. While El Jaguar Oro is exclusively a super-heroic story, Tehuantl is a story which is very different. Adrian Jimenez, a young Shayamiran boy who was raised most of his life in the capital of Santa Vicus after being born in a remote village in the mountains of Shayamira, this story blends superheroics, supernatural tales, and traditional Shayamiran folktales, along with the Lyric comic art style and that of ancient Shayamirans, to create a tale of the supernatural. Young Adrian finds out upon his eighteenth birthday that he is not like other boys, and that his family has a long standing curse, since the beginning of their time in Shayamira. Every first born son within his father's line has been cursed with a bestial inner-side, and the ability and urge to transform into a bestial 'werejaguar' when the right triggers, including anger or the color white are scene. Given their clean city, it is obviously not a wise choice for Adrian to stay there, and as he moves to return to the village he was born in, at his parents direction, he begins to feel the urge to wander across the country, and after saving a child from a mysterious beast which ran right back into the jungle after trying to slip into villa she was living in, he finds for himself a purpose. He will stop things like this from happening to the people of Shayamira, and in time if his deeds are good enough, perhaps find the curse removed from his spirit and line.
