The Emperatriz has begun her tour of the islands newly reunified with the mainland. A scenic tour of the Puerta Island countryside before making her way to the capital where she delivered a landmark speech. The following is an excerpt:

"I feel so welcomed here and thank you, fellow countrymen and women, for your hospitality. It is greatly moving to be on land rightly reunified with the mainland. Though we may disagree politically and ideologically even, we are united still by greater bonds. A common God almighty. A common language. Common laws. Common history. Now very thankfully united again as one nation. Indivisible. Especially from its enemies. Foreign and domestic.

"This is Rita Alvaro. JNN frontline correspondent with a happy change of pace. Sitting down with an interview with Their Imperial Highnesses Crown Prince Carlos Francisco the Third and Prince Nicol Francisco the First. It's an honour."

Carlos: Lovely to meet you. Happy to do it.

Nicol: What my cousin said.

Rita: Prince Nicol how did you make it back here so quickly?

Nicol: Upon learning I was to do this, air lifted. The rest of the expedition is still en route home. Safe and blessed journey to them.

Rita: How was the expedition? Did you know it's become rather controversial?

Nicol: I hadn't. My mind was really on my mission. Antarctica is quiet. Tranquil. I wish I could say beautiful but I prefer warmer climates. As for this apparent controversy I will leave that to the politicians to sort out. I'm just a sailor at heart. I love the water and seeing new places.

Rita: Were you ever nervous?

Nicol: Not at all. Trust me we were very well protected. First and foremost by The Holy Trinity.

Rita: Crown Prince I do hope you didn't take it as a slight going second here.

Carlos: -chuckles- Not at all.

Rita: Forgive me but I just have to ask. Any news on the love life front? Have you found the luckiest woman in Europe yet?

Carlos: Oh there's somebody. That's all you're getting though.

Rita: Tease. Very well. How have you and Prince Nicol gotten on ever since his title & rank were restored?

Carlos: Like brothers. He's a little crazy. I need that. As you can imagine, my life is tightly supervised & planned. His not nearly so. He's a friend I can truly be myself with.

Nicol: Ditto. I'm under no illusions. I know I'll never see the throne for a multitude of reasons. I like being along for his ride.

Rita: Have either of you ever used Marijuana? Especially since it's been legalised?

Carlos: -laughs- No.

Nicol: -laughs- No.

Rita: Favorite alcoholic beverage?

Carlos: White wine.

Nicol: Bourbon.

Rita: Crown Prince how many cars do you own?

Carlos: Oh God.....nine.

Rita: Prince Nicol, do you ever want to sail to Catholic countries to experience them?

Nicol: I would like that opportunity very much.

Debate Night

° For 3 long hours the Canciller & Foreign Minister clashed on everything from what they were wearing, to national security, the economy, abortion, you name it. Neither side landed a knockout blow & neither side saw disaster. However Foreign Minister Albares got the better of the Canciller when the discussion came to the Antarctic Issue. Albares accused His Excellency of ignorance of the proper EF mandates in place that would have "Been one of many important factors in a decision that should have been an obvious and resounding no." Suarez looked like he had a response, but changed subjects.

° Suarez spent much of the debate painting Albares as weak, amoral, & easily used by the mainland's detractors should he be elected.

° Both sides' PR camps claim victory. Snap internet poll currently says Albares won 51%/47%/2% tie or not sure.
