33 arrested in peaceful but anti-Crown protest

Syracuse

Police and protesters remained calm as around 1000 protesters marched from the National Opera to the Royal Palace in Syracuse yesterday.

Protesters called for the 81 year old monarch and leader of Nicosia to name a successor. They also called for government transparency and a small shift closer to democracy. Police say that 33 were arrested and later released for violating hospital zone noise restrictions. "Other than chanting in a hospital zone, the protests were extremely peaceful" said a police spokesman.

Protests began last week after King Nicolas announced that he had yet to choose a successor that he would not be stepping down. Protests are also scheduled next week against the rising unemployment.

King steps down, Chancellor Valdez given temporary control

Syracuse

Nicosians remain stunned today following a radio statement made by the King this morning. "I cannot remain the leader of my country; your country; a nation I hold to my heart so dearly. The people are ready for a new leader but more importantly, my health is no longer what it once was. As I prepare to enter my 82nd year, I know that my people will understand and accept a new monarch. I will turn over all powers granted me by G-d, history, and my people, to my Chancellor Carlos Valdez. All powers except the right to select the next monarch. I ask for your patience, prayers, and support. G-d bless Nicosia and her people".

The palace and Chancellor's Office have refused to comment on the medical status of the King but numerous sources say that it is still unclear to even the Royal Family. "We are deeply shocked and are prepared to accept this change as the King wishes" said Vice Chancellor Giorgis Avramopoulos. Nicholas VII has served as King of Nicosia since 1960. The King was to pass on power to a successor, his son Milos in 2001 but he was killed in a car accident in 2000.

Statement From The Papal Office of The Sacred Kingdom of Solaren

Unfortunately due to the lack of a reigning Pope at this moment there is no one capable of carrying the prayers of your nation to the Almighty. However, rest assured when Pope IV ascends to his place he will seek to bless the King. Although, we urge the Nicosian Press to cease with the censorship of God. God, is not a curse nor cause for offense. If you seek his prayer it is it best to utilize all of his syllables. We are not of the Muslim ancestry who string words together that only a heretical tongue can pronounce, words such as Hajr. Rejoice in that.

Pope Urban IV, upon his accession, will inform the people of Nicosia if their prayers will be answered.

DULWICH, THURSDAY, 3RD MARCH 2011
_____________________________________________

The Right Honourable The Secretary of State has received the Command of Her Engellexic Majesty The Queen to make known the following gracious Statement of Her Engellexic Majesty to the Princes, the Chiefs and the People of the Kingdom of Nikosia.

Extension of The Queen's Statement in Council.

TO THE PRINCES AND CHIEFS OF THE KINGDOM OF NIKOSIA

It is to be expressed, upon instruction of Her Engellexic Majesty, and Cabinet, that there is no clamour for His Majesty’s abdication, and, it would seem an absence of any deep-rooted determination in the minds of the people that they should not be satisfied with anything short of the King’s removal. Revolutionary sentiment must not be encouraged; it must be prevented and allowed to wither; and it never will be seen to wither while the chief of the state remains self-serving against the great body of the nation. His Majesty knows the sentiments of the mass towards himself, yet he is impertinent and insensate, and topples the throne for a self-serving retirement.

Confronted with a great personal crisis in His Majesty’s lifetime, the King seems to have no conception of his duty, except to throw responsibility on somebody else. The impropriety, nay, the unwarranted abdication of the King has been received with frustration, as Her Engellexic Majesty, and, Court, remain displeased.

If Nicholas VII understood his dutiful position, and should not abdicate, he would confer a benefit upon his family and the people, and perhaps relieve them from the greatest agitations of republican sentiment that will surely fester. If, however, instead of yielding, he shall insist upon preserving the sceptre, it will not be strange that in the end His Majesty can discover friendships in foreign capitals whom can be relied on to strengthen the great institution, the Crown of Nikosia, against looming revolutionary manoeuvrings.

By the Grace of GOD, of the UNION of GREAT ENGELLEX, CHARLOTTE, the QUEEN, through the Right Honourable the SECRETARY of STATE, ANTHONY PELHAM-HOLLES

King announces successor, reveals sickness

Syracuse
Via the Office of the Chancellor

The King addressed the nation live on all radio and tv channels.

"It is with heavy heart and a hopeful one, that I announce my successor. Approximately a month ago, I was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. A disease that could soon cripple my mind. In my decades of leadership, I have come to love every citizen of this Kingdom. I am confident, in the days to follow, that I will have the support of all and the best wishes of many. I sincerely hope that these wishes and support will transfer to my chosen successor. As my natural heir passed away in 2001, this Kingdom has been without a designated heir to the ancient throne. I would like to announce that my cousin, Phillip Theodore Kosara, Duke of Ajaccio, Knight of the Jesuit Order, will take my place on the 10th of this month. Until that time, I remain your King in name only with all powers being held by the Honorable Chancellor Valdez. G-d Bless all, and G-d Bless Nicosia".

His Royal Highness the Duke of Ajaccio is expected to address Nicosia shortly.

We hope foreign governments will refrain from commenting on similar situations until all facts have been revealed.

Statement From The Papal Office of The Sacred Kingdom of Solaren

After preliminary discussions between His Incredible Holiness and the Almighty, it our duty to inform the Nicosian people that their king bares the genes of heresy and will be condemned to the eternal, and quite excruciating, embers of Hell. It is the will of God.

We are not only deeply horrified but are greatly confused by the statements that come from His Incredible Holiness and the Almighty. We are unsure if these are the rantings of a madman or merely a purposely inflammatory remark made to inflame the sentiments of Nicosian detractors. Either way, these statements are not only undiplomatic, but are deeply insulting. Perhaps 'His Incredible Holiness and the Almighty' should review the teachings of Christ.

If the Nicosian King had taken the time to not just review the teachings of the Almighty, but live by them he would not spend eternity suffering as the fires of hell melt away his flesh.

"Thank Allah, a thousand times, thank and praise Allah for the wonders of sickness and death that shall befall the traitor king, arch heretic, shall lose his mind to madness. For a damned eternity he shall roam through the depths of Jahannam, where his bodily fluids shall boil and his brains will burst into bouts of madness, again, and again, and again. We rejoice at the thought! We relish in his pain, oh, glorious days! How the world will rue his pitiful existence! Allah be praised for all eternity!"

We are not only deeply insulted by this statement by find it deeply perplexing. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs should be ashamed of itself and should consider itself an insult to the great religion of Islam.

Raving Lunatic Cult Arrested

Ajaccio

National Police arrested 43 members of a cult who were disrupting traffic and handing out flyers that warned that 'G-d was prepared to transform technology' and 'G-d will punish technology lovers'.

All 43 were subsequently declared 'insane and delusional' and placed in a mental institution.

The Union believes that under such circumstances the Nicosian establishment and monarch-to-be the Duke of Ajaccio should seize the opportunity to implement political reform towards a more inclusive administrative system upon his entrance to the throne. Such a transformation would contribute to the right conditions for a political reformation.

Peaceful Nicosia Insulted

Syracuse

The announcement of the King abdication followed by the announcement of his health condition, garnered insults from both the government of Trans-Nineveh and of course Solaren.

Trans-Nineveh's Ministry of Islamic Affairs insulted not only Nicosia, but Islam when it said among other things: "praise Allah for the wonders of sickness and death that shall befall the traitor king, arch heretic, shall lose his mind to madness. For a damned eternity he shall roam through the depths of Jahannam, where his bodily fluids shall boil and his brains will burst into bouts of madness". The Chancellor's Office quickly responded by saying that "the Ministry of Islamic Affairs should be ashamed of itself and should consider itself an insult to the great religion of Islam".

Solaren also followed a similar path by issuing a statement that read that "[the] king bares the genes of heresy and will be condemned to the eternal, and quite excruciating, embers of Hell. It is the will of G-d". The Chancellor's Office, Nicosian Orthodox Church, and Nicosia Archdiocese all issued harsh statements against Urban IV. The Nicosian Orthodox Church, an open supporter of the Solaris Catholic Church, condemned the "Pimpmaster", noting that Urban IV is 'clearly not a student of the bible'.

Chancellor Valdez pleaded against demonstrations for the time being as thoughts "should be elsewhere".

We thank you for you advice, as condescending as it seems, but must insist that our great monarchy has not endured for centuries against the will of a people. King Nicholas VII is already known in some circles as Nicholas the Reformer and Nicholas the Great for his many reforms over his 50 year reign. In this country the Crown is not only the will of the people, but it IS the people. When this ceases to be, so will the monarchy.

The United Territories would like to advise the government and people of Nicosia to not surcome to the threats and let-downs of these radical and extremist nations. The King of Nicosia, we are certain, will continue to reign as peacefully and wisely as the monarchs of the past have. As a fellow EDF state at that, Nicosia can count on Akwesasne as a diplomatic ally.

Nicosians ponder new King

Ajaccio

Most Nicosians have only had one king in their lifetime, Nicholas VII. King since 1960, Nicholas brought numerous reforms to Nicosia and until the mid 1990's remained overwhelmingly popular. Now, many Nicosians are unsure of how they will accept the new future.

In a world of democracies, constitutional monarchies, and republics, Nicosians are beginning to question where they fit. With one family ruling over Nicosia since 1456, Nicosians begin to appear restless. However, not every King has enjoyed absolute rule. In 1903, King Alexander III abdicated in favor of his younger brother (Theodore V) when 22 days of protest brought the country to a standstill. In 1844, Paul IV handed over control of government ton Chancellor Constantine Villas under similar circumstances.

Perhaps the monarchy is slowly losing its absolute grip. The Kosara family has long maintained the motto 'by the consent of the people'. In Nicosia, protests have been relatively successful in the reigns of the past two monarchs, especially in the 1980's and 1990's. Now, it seems that when the will of the people is at its highest, Nicosian Kings must humbly bow.

So who is Phillip Theodore Kosara, Duke of Ajaccio? Born in 1949, in Metz, Lorraine, the Duke of Ajaccio grew up primarily in Ajaccio. Attending Syracuse Royal College, the Duke received a degree in International Economics before attending military school in Montelimar. He graduated in 1974. He inherited the title 'Duke' in 1982. Until 1995, the Duke served as the Chief of Staff of the Nicosia Defence Forces before being elected Mayor of Ajaccio. He did not run for re-election in 2003 and retired from public service.

Duke of Ajaccio publicly scolds Chancellor, accuses him of 'gutting Nicosias air force'

Syracuse

Just two days before his coronation, the Duke of Ajaccio had strong and public words for Chancellor Valdez who is currently at the head of Nicosia's government.

In a controversial move yesterday, Chancellor Valdez ordered the immediate scrapping or sale of all Nicosia's fighter aircraft. Chancellor Valdez ordered the action due to 'extraordinarily high maintenance costs and ineffectiveness of the aircraft'. All 12 of Nicosias F-12s, F-4 platform aircraft, were imported from Belmont in the 1970's and received upgrades until 1995. "His Highness the Duke may be royalty and may be the Duke of Ajaccio, but he is not yet King. In the capacity of Chancellor over the past 11 years, I have become familiar with several issues. With full powers of the crown passing to me temporarily, it was my duty to retire these 12 aircraft".

The Duke responded by saying that his duty was "to not leave Nicosia's airspace unprotected by gutting the air force".

King Alexander IV quietly coronated

Syracuse

In the small chapel at the Royal Palace, Nicholas VII formally abdicated the throne and laid witness to the coronation of his cousin, Phillip Theodore Kosara. At noon, the scepter was formally handed over to the Duke of Ajaccio who formally adopted the name Alexander IV.

Few were reportedly invited and only a one photographer was on hand. It is unclear if the pictures are to be released. On hand were a few minor royals from various current monarchies and non-reigning houses, diplomats from a few countries, and family. Though no official word was given, many suspect the quiet ceremony was done in order to respect the health issues of Nicholas VII.

Despite the quiet coronation, many took to the streets to celebrate the new monarch, who for many is the first time they have had a new monarch. It was released however that Nicholas VII may still use the title of His Majesty on legal documents and in formal settings but may not use the title of King.

No crown was used in the coronation as the original crown disappeared in 1294 during the occupation by Coronado.

Sailors were in "good condition" says Nicosian Human Rights Agency

Učka, Carentania

According to members of the Nicosian Human Rights Agency, the Sinhese sailors that were being held were in "relatively good condition". Members of the agency visited with each sailor independently and found them to be "somewhat disturbed by the situation but are quite optimistic". The group visited with the sailors the day they received permission to visit them, immediately boarding a plane. The NHRA reported that the living conditions were 'above adequate' and the sailors were being treated with 'considerable courtesy despite the situation'. The team, led by Professor Edward Tabano, also delivered mail to the imprisoned sailors and did receive a few letters for the post. In addition, the sailors were brought Sinhese newspapers, cigarettes, and playing cards. "They are being treated well and are in good spirits. We are confident they will continue being in high spirits and will continue being treated well" said Trabano.

The NHRA is an independent body overseen and funded by Syracuse Royal College and receiving logistical support from the Foreign Ministry.

Eiffelland to assist Nicosia in airspace security

Syracuse

With a stroke of a pen, Chancellor Valdez scrapped the entire fighter arm of the Nicosian Royal Air Force; an action which was greatly criticized.

At the request of the King Alexander IV, Eiffelland will provide 6 fighters to police Nicosia's airspace. The aircraft will remain until Nicosia resolves its air security handicap. His Majesty was quite pleased with the temporary solution saying that Nicosia "is lucky to have such friends in the world".

The policing mission will begin sometime next week and will be supported by the remaining Nicosian Royal Air Force. King Alexander also announced that Grand-Duke Albrecht III would be invested as Master Knight in the Order of Nicosia.
