A recently signed friendship (defense and economic) agreement signed between Belmont and Frescania recently was of much debate in Marquen media. However, Chancellor Rouve expressed government support for the agreement. "The deal reached between the two governments will hopefully condition the Belmontien leadership to work with other nations. Marquens should not be worried over the actions of Belmont. Our two nations, despite problems have strong ties. What is good for Belmont can indeed be good for Marquette.

The Imperial Defence Forces is reporting that it was 'deeply satisfied' with Operation Open Hand. The drill called up reserves of all services in mass to simulate a mass humanitarian effort. "To our knowledge, there has never been anything on this scale, in terms of a drill, ever" said General Henri Jilbert of the Royal Air Force Search and Rescue Corps. According to Jilbert, around 50,000 of the reservists will remain on active duty to complete flood and earthquake training.
