Jag Niwas Palace
The large lakes of Itanagar were man made centuries long ago and were one of the main attractions of the city. Slowly building damns and large earthen works over the few centuries has created a scenic paradise that largely was known to those who know as a resort playground for the rich and powerful. Such was the Jag Niwas Palace; built on one of the few islands in the middle of the largest lake by the local raja as a pleasure palace, secluded from the prying eyes. Now it was one of the many palaces part of the Crown Properties and served as the playground fro the imperial family and government officials. However, now it was cleaned and prepared for a different purpose.
Minister of State, Ahimsa Mayur, waited for her guest to arrive. Minister Mayur was a veteran of the diplomatic service and as a woman in the Varanasese government she had to be ruthless. Thirty years of cunning, manipulation, conniving tactics, and assassination, allegedly that is. It was even whispered in the halls of the Privy Council that she was responsible for the untimely death of her General husband; rumors, or were they. The ruthlessness gave Smt. Mayur a reputation that preceded her in many situations in Varanasi, and let anyone know she was not a person to cross.

Lily Pond
Now Minister Mayur waited out by the palace's Lily Pond where a small table and a set of chairs had been placed next to the pond. A butler informed her that their guest would be arriving by speed boat within 30 minutes. Ahimsa would be meeting with the Eiffellander Chancellor on a prospective partnership. The former colonizer and the former colonized to work together for the benefit of both.
