- a free trade agreement;
- expedited electronic passport control availability for Vrijpoort subjects entering/exiting the MU and MU citizens entering/exiting Vrijpoort and her Overseas Crown Dominions;
- the creation of a technical college and university cooperation programme.

We will thus open negotiations with the Princedom and the MU nations for a trade agreement between Vrijpoort and the Common Meridian Economic Area, the approval of Vrijpoorters in the electronic expedited passport control and in the two educational programs.

SUBJECT: Vrijpoort Proposals and MU updates

Esteemed representatives,

The United Kingdom of Ebria, Nuoria and Hamrun stands in complete support of the agreement between the Meridian Union and the Principality of Vrijpoort. We agree on the importance of expanding the Meridian Common Market Area to include a free trade agreement with a fellow Meridian nation like Vrijpoort and we also support their ascension into the Scholastica and Copernicus Programs of international tertiary education agreements. We believe that it is important for trade in the Meridian to be done as easy as possible, especially when talking about tourism and travelling and thus we support the addition of the Vrijpoorter passports into the easy access lanes of the Meridian Union member states.

We also wish to propose an expansion of the Meridian Union Treaties, with the creation of the Meridiapol, an international law enforcement agency formed out of agents from the member states, designed to fight against international crime such as drug and human trafficking and also money laundering.

We also propose to return to the stage of discussions the adoption of the Meridiano as a common currency, so as to ensure that full economic eficiency will be reached between the member states and that we will not lose time and chances of economical betterment by still keeping the Real, the Ducat or the Guldenmark as currencies. As the Meridian Union nations keep themselves as a beacon of stability and peace, it is understandable that we keep a high level of stability necessary for a currency league and thus we hope that we can leave behind the national currencies for the sake of a new, continental one that can ensure that our economies become, tied together, one of the most used and most important economic block on the world.

The National Assemblies shall include the vote on the Free Trade Agreement with the Freeport Serene Duchy into their January voting schedule.

The Commonwealth Council has issued a recommendation to the National Assemblies to approve the extension of the Meridian Free Trade Area to the Freeport Serene Duchy.

As dramatic as the departure of Tianlong from CETO is, we are now at a rare point in history where Meridian Nations are not bound by military obligations far outside the Meridian Union. Such obligations from fellow members were a concern previously to the Commonwealth.

Therefore, should there be interest, a Union-centric defensive arrangement can be considered with obligations solely and purely within our community of Nations.

In the Commonwealth's mind, such would disqualify Union Members from taking on military obligations outside of the Meridian Union, by concern to not bring overseas conflicts to the Union's shores.

With the worldwide security continuing to be problematic in the face of the collapse of Pannonia, Scanlaw, the war in Gutarike, and now the issues with Frescania, Angliarique and Tianlong, the United Kingdom stands in accord with the Commonwealth of Remuria, in regards to the importance of keeping the Meridian Union secure.

We thus wish to reaffirm the importance of the Meridian Union Security Agreement, in which the member nations have guaranteed the sovereignty and borders of the other nations and which as of yet it has been signed by Ebria and Radilo. We believe it is important for the MU nations to see the security of the Meridian as paramount.

After the collapse of CETO, we declared neutrality. The Rheinische Volksversammlung and the Rat der Regierungen have declared several topics controversial, meaning that decisions on those topics will be taken after the elections. The Rheinbund was a member of the defensive clause of the Meridian Union in parallel with its membership of CETO. For the time being, we will fulfil our duties regarding the defence clause of the Meridian Union, unless the Rheinische Volksversammlung and the Rat der Regierungen decide differently. Final decisions will be taken by the new government.
