Himyar is full of Crusader States, one Jewish country, and the Byzantine Empire (me), as well as some Western colonies. There's also a Socialist USA down south but he's gone inactive so it remains to be seen whether he'll return (if he doesn't, feel free to steal his idea, his nation is very creative and I need somebody to RP our confrontation with). Toyou has an Imperial China-style nation and two archipelaga (a Japanese Kingdom that's westernising and still a vassal of China, and a loose union of various SE Asian island states that got their independence from our Republic UK), as well as Jurzan (an Afghani-Arab Socialist State from what I gather). Scania has a couple of Nordic and Baltic States, along with Ivernia (the Irish nation). They are either extremely stable or (in the case of Ivernia & Saaremaa) in total civil war/revolution of gov'ts against communists. A country which is massive and in a bunch of regions at the same time is Kadikistan (totally not the USSR) and s kinda influential in all aforementioned continents. I think that's the jist of it.
If you want a nation idea, you could try my forbidden fantasy: a Dutch USA-style country on Himyar. Alternatively, you could RP India, Persia/Iran, or some independent sub-Saharan African country since nobody seems to be particularly into these sort of nations, so you'd stick out.
EDIT: You could try being the Vatican or a collection of Arab City States. We kinda really need those right now for RP, so you'd have a central role
