I'm from England but not actually from Mercia (I'd have been in Northumbria). I like the name, however, and hopefully I'll be able to pull off RPing a relatively Anglo-Saxon nation. Hopefully.
Sweet, I look forward to your RP, perhaps we could collaborate with history etc. as the Free Union (of Engellex & Blois) is also an Anglo-Saxon nation.

Not really, best thing to do is head over to the Cooperative OOC threads, make your own, and start hammering out an idea. Personally, if you're one who has many ideas to pick from (like me), I'd look at others threads and the map and see what hasn't been done yet and do that.

Somewhere south and west. From the place that kind of looks like Chile up to Radilo I'd imagine are all suitable.
I am still indefinite about the status of my country. It is definitely a federation. After reading the guidelines I am still undecided. I am thinking of settling somewhere between "Weak economy" and "Developed economy" with a population of 150 mln and a GDP/capita of around $18 000. But I am not sure yet. I would prefer a more realistic 25 mln population with a 500 bln GDP. As I RPed, the country is having demographic problems but measures are taken to make this country more attractive. In the future I expect the population to decrease followed by a slight decrease of its GDP. The government is trying to rehabilitate the economy and put it on the right track by attracting investors and by initiating major investments programmes. There are ethnic problems and separatist movements. That is all for now. Promising reforms are on their way and I hope the country will be seen as an emerging economy.
The numbers are not definitive. The nation will evolve upwards or downwards, don't know yet. I can give you a better description after a month or two of role-play.
