Experimental rocket fails again Implarian Observer Following repeated failure at previous tests, an experimental rocket of the Implarian University failed yet again. The rocket, which was part of the national space programme, followed the example of earlier models by detonating upon launch, in the process destroying its launching platform in the Implarian. While the explosion, once again, caused no injuries to personnel and scientists, the deplorable results of the experiments of the Implarian University and associated research facilities are becoming an embarassment to the whole of the Republic and public criticism of the space programme is growing, having achieved little more than costly accidents thusfar. Ewans assaults President over Pelasgia policy The Republic Minority leader in Congress, Mitchell Ewans, has harshly criticized President Winters for his offer of citizeship to Pelasgian jews, arguing that a more proactive policy by the Republic was needed to safeguard the rights of minorities in Himyar and beyond. "Winters thinks he can just shelter the whole world within our borders and that will show the tyrants and slaveowners of Europe. I wonder, if it were really that simple, whether they would let their people go?" Ewans said during a speech in Congress and alluding to the crisis in Milesia, during which Winters initiated a missio to evacuate civilians that ended in tragedy and the death of 12 SWR servicemen. Ewans furthermore backed jewish claims to the Holy Land, stating his support for the establishment of a "jewish state in the Republic", a statement that was welcomed by the Zionist Congress. Free Peoples Bank to build highest building in the world Newport Post The state-owned Free Peoples Bank has announced its intention to build a new central office building in Newport. While the exact design, as well as location, of the future skyscraper is yet to be determined, a spokesperson for the FPB has announced the Bank's intention for the new headquarters to be the "tallest building in the world". This would add yet another proud achievement to the long list of advances brought to our homelands by Socialism, while showcasing to the whole world the newfound wealth and importance of the Republic. |
