IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT OF SIKANDARA
GRAND COUNCIL FOR DIPLOMATIC AFFAIRS
PRIVATE CORRESPONDENCE
10. June. 1955 To, The Commissar for Foreign Affairs, Worker's Republic of Carentania Dear Sir, In what is a letter most uncommon and unusual, from my office to yours, is written in good faith and with the hope that you and your colleagues in the Government receive it with an open mind. The recent tensions in the Long Sea are regrettable and the deaths therein tragic. The Imperial Government wishes to assure your good office that we seek a peaceful and neutral Long Sea free of any ideological divisions. However, we must inform you that we believe that the status quo in the Long Sea has been damaged by your allies in Solis. They remain unwilling to truly cooperate with the international community. The International Commission on the Long Sea was very nearly derailed by the refusal of that government to take part in a series of talks aimed at resolving the issues of the first report. Now as the world's harsh gaz is upon the ICLS, we know that it has to provide an answer which is controversial to neither party but wholly unsatisfactory for the purposes of finding the truth. The claims that we present, while we accept that you may have your doubts as to our version, we simply ask you to investigate the matter using your own channels. The influence of Rijecka in Solis is profound, and that is a fact which no one can deny, and so we look to you. Radicals or any other such element in the Aurarine regime, we believe, are attempting to set the whole region ablaze in a fight which will consume us all. I know what I ask from you is most unusual but I simply hope that you shall look into the matter and see for yourself that it was not Sikandara which first attacked the ships in the Long Sea. This is not a time to cling to our ideological positions. This is the time for the truth to prevail. Mir Rustam Ghaznavi Grand Councillor for Diplomatic Affairs |
