The Imperial Government is issuing a message to our primary trade partners across the Gallo-Germanic region informing them of our seriousness in handling the threats being issued by the Carentanian Government are very serious indeed. The Sikandari Government is committed to continuing its supplies of oil and other goods to our partners. We are fully aware of the situation and seek dialogue with our associates in handling the possibility of a closure of the Long Sea to Sikandari vessels.

The Empire of Sikandara is one of Ionia's most important trade partners. The Ionian economy, if not the Ionian Confederacy itself, are based and dependent on trade, especially maritime one, without which the Ionian economy and the entirety of Ionia would greatly suffer. We reassure you, nay we promise to you with a holy oath, once again that as long as the Ionian Confederation exists trade in the Long Sea will not under any circumstances be disrupted by any rogue state. We will take every measure available to us, even the most extreme ones, to ensure that. To that extent we propose the establishment of a permanent International Commission of Trade and Commerce to help ensure that such situation are peacefully resolved and do not come about ever again as well as to promote international trade.

Also we are very concerned about Carentania's multiple threats about closing the Long sea for vessels of various countries. A multilateral response to these threats is needed. Also we are prepared for taking the most extreme measures to handle this case. However, we cannot do so alone. More countries will be needed to handle this threat.

We also agree with the idea of the Ionian government to install a permanent International Commission of Trade and Commerce. Or maybe a treaty organisation.

Your excellencies, several economical and financial sectors and operators within Portusgalia have asked us to ask Sikandara the best way to solve this in a polite and peacefull way. The trade between Sikandara is vital, and the relations between the two countries have the trust seal of centuries on them.

We must seek an diplomatic bridge with Carentania in order to solve this. We think Carentania is ware how important is the oil and trade to run Europe, an we are certain they will suffer the consequences of an unsought act.

The Sikandari Government has heard from its major trade partners in the Gallo-Germanic region with great interest. We commend the suggestion made by the Ionian Government and the resoluteness displayed by the Eiffellander Government. However, we do not seek to antagonize the Carentanians at this moment.

The threat is currently being issued against ships bearing the Sikandari flag. If in a situation where the Long Sea is closed to Sikandari vessels, we suggest that our trade partners send vessels registered in their own country, or that in a neutral third one, to our shores. We could additionally have Sikandari shipping companies register their vessels in neutral third party countries. These are obviously all stop-gap measures but will allow for some proper resolution.

Alternatively, we can suggest a plan more structured in nature but for it to succeed we need the support of our Portusgalian friends. We suggest that Sikandari oil tankers and merchant vessels depart Sikandari ports for ports in Portusgalian Mozambia, from where Portusgalian vessels, by virtue of being neutral in the events unfolding in Touyou, may move unhindered across the Long Sea. Using Portusgalian ships, we may be able to continue our existing commitments without delays.

We must however state that the threat of Carentanian military assets attacking neutral third party vessels emanating from Sikandara remains a tangible threat and must be kept in mind. We will be in contact with our allies in the region, as far as Long Sea maritime security is concerned.

If that is the must viable situation, our Sikandaran friends and trade partners are free to do so in the sake of Economical and Financial Status of both regions. Although I have to admit the delays in the "Himyar Route", since it is longer then the traditional Long Sea Route. In order to sustain the regular supply, more ships will be needed to operate. This situation will have impact on general economy unfortunately, because after all it is a crisis, and there are uncertainties regarding the situation.

The High Kingdom of has predicted that this day would come, as Carentania secured itself military bases in strategic locations all under the flag of ''saving the oppressed masses.'' Carentania has played the act of ''vigilant protector of the proletariat'', but it is now shown to the whole world that Carentania is truly forming an Empire. A Socialist Neo-Empire of the Long Sea, and Carentania now plans to - no - delights in closing the Long Sea, to starve any nation who opposes them from Gallo-Germania - from the support of the Free World - so to allow Carentania to continue to be the Great Socialist Imperator.

As Communism thrives by closing your mind and forcing you into your role, so too does the RDTO attempt to close off Sikandara from the rest of the world, in order to isolate, and then infect it with socialism. Truly there is no nation more conniving, and no nation more wicked hearted then Carentania and its Long Sea of Crows.

Ivernia shall endeavor, to continue it's trade with Sikandara through whatever means. Ivernia recommends that all Sikandari ships destined for Ivernia or indeed anywhere in Gallo-Germania should bypass the Long Sea, and travel south past the Ivernish Himyari Commonwealth way. We understand that this is not a long term solution, and as such we support Eiffeland's suggestion of an International Commission of Trade and Commerce Organisation, for the good and righteous members of the Long Sea, or those who depend upon it, to protect themselves and their trade from the Carentanian Hegemony.

Ivernia would both endorse and support any moves for this establishment, to protect free trade, and indeed freedom itself within the Long Sea.

The Kingdom of Transabina stands in support of the Sikandari government and opposes in principle any attempt by foreign powers, regardless of ideology, to restrict the freedom of the seas. Today, the King, Prime Minister, and Cabinet will be meeting to discuss possible responses to any attempt by hostile powers to restrict or otherwise limit vital East-West trade in the Long Sea.

While the Republic of Asylan may not be the largest trading partner to Sikandara, we do wish too pledge our support to the cause of a proposed International Commission of Trade and Commerce Organization, and would be a willing participant. In the mean time however, we understand the circumstances of your plight and will make adjustments to our civilian maritime actions as a result.

As a result of this uncertainty in the seas close to Sikandara, we will begin to organize trade convoys instead of allowing Asylan trade vessels to travel on their own, just as Asylan did during the time of immense uncertainty in Scania. Only Asylan registered vessels bound to Sikandara will travel with an escort in international waters at all times. Asylan shipping to Sikandara is light, and such convoys would not be substantial in number, and we cannot guarantee the safety of other 3rd party civilian vessels in the region unless of course Asylan is bound by treaty to assist. While we do recognize the problems that Sikandara has, we cannot however commit to sending naval units to directly patrol waters, should we risk instigating a further conflict. Asylan also submits that every country also has the same rights to escort their own civilian shipping in waters threatened by war. We hope that all 3rd party shipping will be spared any violence should a threat of war arise. Any further action of Asylan beyond protecting Asylan registered vessels would have to be deliberated upon heavily with its alllies.

Carentania has yet again proven that it is willing to use violence to achieve anyting it wishes and threatens the peace and prosperity of Europe as whole. We will not allow our civilian population to be affected by Carentanian threats, as has become the norm from that country.

On the Freedom of the Seas


The Grand Duchy of Nichtstein is fully committed to the principle of the Freedom of the Seas for civilian and merchant shipping. The world's waterways are not one nation's alone to control and lord over, but are the collective property of all mankind. Freedom of trade over the seas, freedom to transport goods and persons in a peaceful manner is, thus, a fundamental principle that can know no exceptions.

For this reason the Grand Duchy of Nichtstein, in common with the Kingdom of Eiffelland, is ready to act in unison with responsible states the world over to enforce, guarantee and promote the Freedom of the Seas.

The statements from the international community in support for an international organization securing maritime trading routes is something which would be for the best for the world. The Empire is hopeful that sea lanes shall go undisturbed from hostile activity targeting the movement of trading vessels.
