Grave news today for the People's Democratic Thaesan. The Supreme Leader, Klahan Chao, has passed today from heart failure at the age of 74, after holding his office for 18 years. Khun Klahan was admitted to the State Hospital within Siraama on Saturday for routine checkups, however entered a critical state shortly after admittance. Medical technicians fought for 2 days to sustain our glorious comrade, but to no avail.

Comrade Klahan was the longest serving General Secretary of the Party, holding the office for 28 years on intermittent terms, held strong influence over the Party, and was elevated to Supreme Leader when he attained the offices of Commander of the Armed Forces in 1992 and Premier in 1998. Comrade Klahan was widely revered by members of Ratsadon Khana, the People's Party, and paved helped guide Thaesan towards a period of stability and industrial growth; under his leadership the nation successfully ended the Avian flu epidemic, reasserted it's sovereignty over the Sa Mang region and the Prea Wat, and modernized it's military alongside our Vangalan comrades.

Ratsadon Khana officials have stated that the body will lay in state for mourners to visit in Pratusura Square for one week before being interred in a secret location. The Ratsadon Khana will hold an exigency session to determine who will ascend to the posts vacated by the late leader.

The PLF sends its most humble regards for this great leader, who led his people valiantly in times of hardship. His departure is a sorrowful reminder that the Struggle for Proletarian liberty is one that will take generations, and that many of us will not live to see that glorious dawn, yet must not be in anyway deterred form our pursuit of it.

"We have with us today an honorary guest, one of our nations most glorious military minds, Khun Sunan Lampoon, Comrade-General for the Capital Region. It is his wish to honor the late Leader and give passing praises for the greatest Comrade this state has ever lost. Khun Sunan, if you please.."

"Thank you, comrade. While I myself disdain the usage of terms such as great, for true Socialism exonerates all men equally, our late Leader was a paragon of socialist values; under his tutelage our nation became prosperous and strong, a stable testament to the proletarian will."

"However, we are but mortal men dreaming to make an eternal impact upon an immortal world. Our ephemeral lives are but fleeting flames, and like all creatures, we die as our Leader has. In his wake, we need to consider the future, and how best to continue to forge the path of the revolution, ever changing our society and striving towards true Socialism. We have made great steps on this Path, comrades, but we have a long way to go. Never forget, the revolution never ends."

"Thank you, Comrade-General. Indeed, the revolution never ends, we must continue our struggle against the oppressors, from without and within. Kratai mai chan!"

Comrade-General Sunan Lampoon has accused numerous members of the Ratsadon Khana of "a notable lack of patriotism and dedication to the Socialist cause", causing uproar within the party as the exigency session continues to determine the best candidates to fill vacant positions within the government. The accusations come as members of the State Council and Politburo debate over qualifications, with many members stressing policies that continue what Khun Sunan calls a "deviancy from Socialist ideals."

Other notable members of the Ratsadon Khana have accused the Comrade-General of incitement, however many have not successfully defended their positions and the Party is considering removing numerous officials from their post in a potential shuffle that could renew Thaesan's commitment to the Socialist cause. Many of the Comrade-General's supporters reside within the Central Military Commission, for which the key position - that of Commander of the Armed Forces - is expected to be passed to Khun Sunan shortly.

Sunan Lampoon has been a loyal member of the Party since shortly after the Great Socialist Revolution of 1951, a conflict in which Sunan's father died bravely fighting for the freedom of the Proletariat. A staunch Socialist, Sunan's autobiography advocates a policy of reforging Saan culture into a new, Socialist culture; abandoning ties to the past. He also advocates a policy of strict autarky, seeing the Capitalist world as a greater threat now than ever before, and realizing that the weapon of the Capitalist world is not it's armies, but it's 'wealth'.

Comrade General Sunan Lampoon has been approved today by the National People's Congress to assume the position of both Commander of the Armed Forces and General Secretary of Ratsadon Khana in a controversial move that ends the exigency session held by the government over the week. Comrade General Sunan Lampoon has announced his intention to review State Council candidates for Premier to ensure that the future leader of the administrative body upholds the values of Socialism.

Comrade General Sunan Lampoon is supported by the Supreme Commissariat, and has already announced his intention to commission a review panel of Commissars to oversee investigation into several members of the Ratsadon Khana. "After many decades before the withering influence of the Capitalist machine, there are those within the Party who have lost sight of their goals," a spokesman for the Comrade General stated outside the National People's Congress. "Until the validity of Socialist law can be reaffirmed, we have no choice but to impose martial order upon the society according to the principles of Kheun Sawan. There is no institution representing the Socialist values more-so than the military, and it is ideal that martial law should supersede the corrupting influences of Westernism."

The government has announced a curfew for all citizens occurring from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., and is informing all foreign tourists visiting on travel visa's that all visa's granted to those not of Saan birth are to expire Monday, May 23. Despite this, foreign embassies and consulates will remain open for contact by tourists, and provisions will be made for those who can prove circumstances which prevent their departure.
