As the months pass, and June comes upon the nation, the First Magistrate has announced a week of festivities to be scheduled in advance of the Tanabata star-viewing festival. The decision, which was first suggested by the people of Tōchū, was wrestled by the Magistrates for months in advance, but we seem to have a conclusion. The Tanabata festival, which opens in the capital in less than a week, has sparked controversy amongst many Tôgokujin veterans who served the country before the formation during the era of the Shogunate, who believe that such festivals serve to align two separate countries which should 'never again come to an agreement'. The Touzen-Tôgoku issue is one that has been whispering on the wind, though that is where most concern for the festival ends. Preparations have been occuring since the decree was published, with invitations to be sent out in a few days time. The Magistrate for Foreign Affairs, Sato Shinobu, has already confirmed that the state has sent out invitations to the neighbouring states, in an attempt to 'promote solidarity and peace' between the nations of Occidentia.

In an attempt to promote solidarity and peace amongst the sparse nations of Occidentia, the Republic of Tôgoku would like to formally invite ministers and leaders of our surrounding friends to our beautiful capital to observe the star festivities and culture of Touyou.

Yukimura Research Institute for War: "Navy cots linked to back problems", research proves.
Heralded by many veterans as the cure to any sea-sickness, the treatment for any worry or ailment. The standardised navy cot. Sleeping in a room with too little light, and not enough space can cause restless nights, and may promote back problems in the long run, a study shows. A team at the Yukimura Institute for War in Chibetsu found that soldiers "had an increased chance of stress-based injury on the spine on board ships than they do in land-based barracks." However, they caution there is not enough evidence to advise soldiers to seek alternative methods. A questionnaire distributed amongst top-ranking officers amongst the naval armed forces determined that although research suggests issues lie with the construction of naval cots, the real problem lies with the method of training amongst personnel, stating the regime was "too soft" and urging soldiers to continue with their duties. PO1. Kobayashi Souma aboard the "Mogami Maru" wrote to Tôgoku Hōsō Kyōkai to state his opinions on the matter. "It is obvious the problem lies with the production of sleeping cots, but there is not sufficient evidence to know if changing the method of design would make any difference."
