First Magistrate Toyotomi Hibito announces upcoming Tanabata! Nation rejoices.

As the months pass, and June comes upon the nation, the First Magistrate has announced a week of festivities to be scheduled in advance of the Tanabata star-viewing festival. The decision, which was first suggested by the people of Tōchū, was wrestled by the Magistrates for months in advance, but we seem to have a conclusion. The Tanabata festival, which opens in the capital in less than a week, has sparked controversy amongst many Tôgokujin veterans who served the country before the formation during the era of the Shogunate, who believe that such festivals serve to align two separate countries which should 'never again come to an agreement'. The Touzen-Tôgoku issue is one that has been whispering on the wind, though that is where most concern for the festival ends. Preparations have been occuring since the decree was published, with invitations to be sent out in a few days time. The Magistrate for Foreign Affairs, Sato Shinobu, has already confirmed that the state has sent out invitations to the neighbouring states, in an attempt to 'promote solidarity and peace' between the nations of Occidentia.

In an attempt to promote solidarity and peace amongst the sparse nations of Occidentia, the Republic of Tôgoku would like to formally invite ministers and leaders of our surrounding friends to our beautiful capital to observe the star festivities and culture of Touyou.

Yukimura Research Institute for War: "Navy cots linked to back problems", research proves.

Heralded by many veterans as the cure to any sea-sickness, the treatment for any worry or ailment. The standardised navy cot. Sleeping in a room with too little light, and not enough space can cause restless nights, and may promote back problems in the long run, a study shows. A team at the Yukimura Institute for War in Chibetsu found that soldiers "had an increased chance of stress-based injury on the spine on board ships than they do in land-based barracks." However, they caution there is not enough evidence to advise soldiers to seek alternative methods. A questionnaire distributed amongst top-ranking officers amongst the naval armed forces determined that although research suggests issues lie with the construction of naval cots, the real problem lies with the method of training amongst personnel, stating the regime was "too soft" and urging soldiers to continue with their duties. PO1. Kobayashi Souma aboard the "Mogami Maru" wrote to Tôgoku Hōsō Kyōkai to state his opinions on the matter. "It is obvious the problem lies with the production of sleeping cots, but there is not sufficient evidence to know if changing the method of design would make any difference."

CONTINENTAL REPUBLIC OF SYLVANIA

We are honored by your invitation to attend the festivities and learn more about a culture that still remains a mystery to many Sylvanians. Unfortunately the President will be unable to attend due to previously arranged national engagements. A delegation from our diplomatic corps shall be sent in his place.

Starvation in the South! Many are forced to join the Army in search of aid.

Many families in the south have begun a mass exodus out of the Kīrun and Kōgen regions following an agricultural draught that has suddenly gripped the regions. Many hold the government responsible for the appointment of military officials as regional administrators, who have been reported as being heavy-handed with the distribution of wealth across the two administrative regions. An investigation by the Tôgokan General Staff Office has reportedly been issued on behalf of the government, with Magistrate for War Hayashi Yamoto and Chief of Defence Maki Kazuo heading the committee for the investigation. However, some inhabitants of the region are sceptical. Following the closure of Tsuki National Airport a week after reports of starvation began, many important regional officials were taken to the airport for questioning by the military. "Further probing into the issue is sure to do nothing. The government already took measures to estimate the extent of the damage that these events would cause. What 'investigation' do they need to do now?" One individual said this after the announcements made by the General Staff Office. Aside from the declaration of intent made by the government, military recruitment has been offered to those desperate for aid. Teenagers and husbands have taken up the offer of military service in return for financial aid for their loved ones. Many families have already taken this offer, and an estimated 50,000 men have been sent across the country to train for what seems to be a military movement of sorts.

Unrest in the south! Post-delegationism on the rise. Government threatens force!

You must be registered for see images

Further news from the south comes from the Kōgen area. With many towns having been deserted over the past week due to lack of food, and the introduction of a military recruitment drive, many administrative bodies in the area have banded together to create areas in which survivors of these areas can sustain a passive lifestyle until the government sends aid. However, sentiments amongst the population have turned for the worst, and post-delegationism is on the rise, in some areas even rising up to 19% according to a regional poll. The government, who have yet to make a comment since last week on the cause and solution of the famine, have dispatched troops to the area with an unknown purpose. With the military preparations for the seizing of Nodoka-jima taking place, and the lack of a comment by the Carranan government, it seems the military has taken the time to look towards internal problems. We can only wait and see what is planned for those living within these areas, though in what seems to be a retaliatory statement by the post-delegationist bands, governmental food-stores in the Kōgen area have been picked clean and distributed amongst the populace. There have also been reports of skirmishes near the Tsuki National Airport, though these have not been confirmed.

The Republic is deeply saddened by the serious food shortage occurring the Kōgen provence and wish to assist in whatever way that we can. The Asylan Red Cross is ready and willing to assist in distributing food supplies and basic medical care to those in need, we only hope your government will be willing to accept our offer.

Sirs,

The oppressive government of Tôgoku is correct to fear the rise of post-delegationism amongst the populace, for it shows that the people tire of their government's heavy-handed, tyrannical policies, and instead desire a life for themselves that brings them closer to peace, prosperity, and partnership for all, not the privileged few that rule over Tôgoku. We see through the mystery of the news that military forces have been dispatched to the polled areas in question: they seek to silence those who advocate freedom for the people and the loss of power by the ultra-nationalist government that puts its own interests ahead of those of the people. We hope only that the suffering of the oppressed does not last long.

Sincerely,
Boleslaw Zalenski
