As Republic is under attack, thousands rally in defense of democracy

Thousands came out in defense of democracy on Sunday to protest the interference of foreign powers in the democratic processes of the Republic.

Organized by the League of Young Touyou Democrats and the Association of Republican Writers and Artists, people from all walks of life gathered in central Revolution Square in downtown Shigö to show their united support for democracy and their righteous anger against the cabal of spies trying to tear apart the very fabric of Democratic Kashtan.

"We must support with our lives the wise leadership of the President" and "Democracy or Death" were but some of the slogans the masses shouted, a powerful signal heard far beyond the confines of the capital, but also in the halls of the cabal crying crocodile tears as it shrieks for "freedom" even as it whips its thralls in the name of profit and degenerate culture.

As the people of Kashtan made known their democratic commitments and opposition to global gangsterism, representatives from the Working People's Kural emerged from a parliamentary session onto the square to join with their brothers and sisters, holding up banners excelling the virtues of the visionary statesmanship of the President.

"The ingenious foresight that the Autarky Directive was conceived with shows us that under the leadership of democracy and its father, the President, we shall never have to worry about bowing to foreign forces and their nefarious Tiburan interests. The Independent Democratic Republic will not join the concert of those that seek a popish future for our people", one of the representatives who had joined the youth on the square said among frantic cheering, the League of Young Touyou Democrats finally proclaiming that they would seek to build a 30x30 meters sized seashell portrait of the Father of the Nation, our President, to show the all-people dedication to the sacrificial defense of democracy in Touyou.

The world is growing tired of Tiburan plots, will destroy the crusaders, President warns

The President, progenitor of the great Autarky idea and protector of the Independent Democratic Republic in these uncertain times, has released a statement in writing on the recent crisis in the world unfolding at the behest of the irresponsible Papist clique.

"The peace loving peoples of the world are patient, but their patience is is not infinite. They well recognize the corrupting influence and reactionary machinations perpetrated by a small clique of ruthless profiteers determined to drag down the rest of Europe with them as their backward ideology collapses unto itself", the statement read.

"Now, news has reached us that the class of opportunistic agitators in Gunnland has declared a religious war on the peace loving people of the world, determined to secure their power and prestige, no matter the cost. Terror and tyranny are not below them - truly, it can be said: Those within the Tiburan church who seek to divide mankind: They are the scourge of the Earth", the President continued in reference to recently unearthed secret plans for expanding and intensifying the terroristic campaign under the label of "spiritual warfare" across Europe retrieved from secret missives traded among the Tiburan Gunnish network spanning the globe.

The President's statement comes at a time when Tiburan terrorists, compelled to slaughter in the name of their hellish caste of scripture mongers, have perpetrated terror across the Frontier Lands, in far away Racow, with many more plots discovered before their dreadful execution and nations such as as the Engellexic Republic arming themselves with righteous determination and farsighted preparation against the Tiburite menace.

Arsenal of Democracy moves against Long Sea piracy, smuggling

The Independent Democratic Republic of Kashtan will intensify its efforts to secure the Long Sea against the scourges of piracy and smuggling, the Ministry for the Defense of Democracy announced today. The ministry emphasized that the IDRK's commitment to maritime security comes as a logical consequence of Kashtan's role as a responsible member of the international concert committed to to the welfare of the peoples of the world.

For now, two vessels will operate on a regular schedule in the Long Sea: AD Fist of the People, a Yarshant-class guided missile destroyer, and AD Victory, a Democracy-class frigate. Both vessels will seek to interdict traffickers of illegal contraband, both eastbound and westbound as well as deter attacks of criminal elements on merchant vessels operating in international waters.

The announcement comes after the Revolutionary Action Committee had acted on the President's assessment that the lack of internationally binding and recognized frameworks for the Long Sea would require the IDRK to step up to safeguard the interests of the working people of Kashtan.

"The fate of our Republic is indivisible from the freedom of the Long Sea. Threats and opportunities abound from this maritime body, and Kashtan is determined to do what it must in this free body of water, as much as any other state", the RAC resolved.

Coinciding with the news, learning in schools across the Republic will focus on a special "Maritime Day" curriculum next Monday to instill knowledge about the importance of the seas for Kashtan into its youth, the future of revolutionary democracy and independence in Kashtan.

The Empire will closely monitor the deployment of these forces by the Kashtani state so far from their territory and so close to ours and explicitly warns them against entering our territorial waters without our authorisation. Kashtan should look closer to home and to the Kalahari for the massive quantities of drugs exported to the world from within its own borders, instead of going off to international adventures in well policed regions that have little trouble containing smuggling. The Imperial War Navy, the Imperial Financial Police and the Imperial Coast Guard & Port Corps will continue to monitor the Long Sea and Kalahari Sea for drug smugglers and will deal with drug smugglers, producers and users with the full force of the law.

The Arsenal of Democracy's ships will of course navigate the full length of the Long Sea, from the mouth of the Implarian to the beginnings of the Thaumatic should the pursuit of criminal elements and the enemies of order require us to do so, while as always respecting the generally internationally recognized rights of other states.

The IDRK again, as it has done in the past, rejects the notion of Kashtan being a "massive exporter of drugs", a notion that offends the dignity and sovereignty of the Kashtanese people, a slanderous campaign that has long been maintained by those seeking reasons to infringe upon the independence of our people under the pretense of international policing.

The IDRK expects - and will enforce this expectation if necessary - that no Pelasgian vessels will enter Kashtanese territorial waters in the so-called pursuit of "Kashtanese drug exports".

To whom it may concern,

The Empire will interpret Kashtan's statements as admitting their respect for Tiburian territorial waters, an interpretation which will be enforced by our forces if necessary. This is due to that fact that the Empire continues to hold that its own laws with respect to its territorial waters are well within the generally recognised international practices with regard to maritime boundaries and are the sole credible guidelines for defining the borders of the Empire's territorial waters.

The Empire would point to a number of recent reports in multiple newspapers of note across the globe as proof of Kashtan's status as a prime exporter of narcotics across the globe, to say nothing of criminal statistics and police reports. Whether this is owed to a failure on the part of the local authorities to deal with the issue or a refusal to do so is a topic for another time.

The Empire has no intention of navigating all the way to the eastern Kalahari to pursue smugglers, most of whom are heading towards the Empire's borders anyway, since navigating such a long distance would be unreasonable. Naturally, navigating such a distance from the opposite direction, too, would be unreasonable, though Kashtan seems to ignore this fact.

Michael Schwarzmann appears before judge for the first time

Michael Schwarzmann, the Eiffelandian national who had been arrested in the Republic last month for anti-state propaganda, has appeared before the judge for the first time this morning to testify in the ongoing investigations into his crimes against the Republic.

In a tearful address to the judge and the assembles Citizens, Schwarzmann agreed to being detained while investigations are ongoing, and stated that he had been treated professionally by organs of the Republic during the time of his detention. Schwarzmann thanked Kashtanese authorities for having provided him with Eiffelandian-Germanic cuisine when he encountered stomach problems following his extended exposure to local food that he was not accustomed it.

During the hearing, Schwarzmann was formally charged with Anti-Democratic Agitation, Agent Activities in the Service of a Foreign Power, Attempted Bribery and Attempted Theft. If convicted, Schwarzmann could face termination or extended reeducation service.

"This is one of the most serious cases of interference in the affairs of the IDRK that we have witnessed in the last few decades. The severity of the charges cannot be understated. The Schwarzmann affair is a turning point and forces us all to reevaluate whether we have been too lenient about giving the benefit of the doubt to certain groups seeking to work within the Republic", a spokesman for the Standing Tribunal on Anti-Republican Activities said.

While investigations continue, Schwarzmann will now be relocated from his holding cell to a Reeducation Camp in the interior of Kashtan.

Anti-terrorist offensive against Kurmanjism on the way

The silence of the Yarshant triangle between Kashtan, Chernovy and Kadikistan was shattered this morning as the thunder of guns heralded the beginning of a new round of anti-terrorist actions against Kurmanjism conducted by the Arsenal of Democracy. Two brigades of the 3rd Mountaineer Division have started assaults on entrenched tribal positions holding out in the remote and inaccessible hinterlands that have been serving as a hiding spot for Kurmanjist trans-border terrorism. More forces from other regions of the Republic are said to be on the way to assist in the assault.

From the Hall of the Supreme Idea, the President motioned to the loyal soldiers of the Arsenal to strike deep into the Kurmanjist heartland and inflight debilitating punishment upon those that would dare question the integrity of the Republic. A message from the President himself was read out to the troops before the assault, and enormous applause and universal praise for the wise notions of his military expertise motivated the soldiers to soar to new heights of fanatic determination to serve democracy as they began their assault, secure in the knowledge of their inevitable victory.

While Kurmanjist terrorists had been quiet in recent months due to many loyal ethnic Kurmanjis standing steadfastly behind the Republic and its democratic ideals, military intelligence had obtained reliable information that local tribal leaders were planning to raid regional grain storages and possibly even attack the newly reconstructed Yarshant Dam that was inaugurated last year, to flood the delta and drive the Republican presence from the area. The President and his cabinet had determined that rather than wait for the terrorists to strike, the Republic would prevent them from harming the Republic's citizens before they would even get a chance to do so.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Friendship said that it had informed Ivar and Radagora shortly before the beginning of the assault, to be alerted about the possibility of insurrectionist cockroaches trying to snicker away beyond the supposed safety of a border they do not recognize, where they will inevitably find severe destruction at the hands of a determined Frontier. The message to the Kurmanjists is clear: Wherever you go, your rat-like ways will only result in annihilation.

Successful test of anti-ship missile strengthens Kashtanese commitment to fight against piracy

The Arsenal of Democracy has reported its first successful test of a new generation of anti-ship missiles this morning, dynamically continuing Kashtan's assertion of its role as a regional power leading the fight against piracy and smuggling in the Greater Long Sea.

According to the test personell, the missile impacted successfully on target in the Eastern Long Sea (Kalahari Sea), exceeding all performance parameter expectations. This new generation of anti-shipping missiles will be a valuable weapon in the arsenal of tools that the Republic has available to enforce order in the Greater Long Sea, significantly extending the range of its area denial capabilities against villainous elements.

The President himself is reported to have been following the test procedures via live feed, and sent his warmest regards to the men and women involved in the development and testing of the new enforcer of the Pax Kashtania.

"The unconquerable lands of the Frontier brought about a generation of sons and daughters with an indomitable determination to secure the independence of their democratic homeland and soar higher in the war for technical superiority over the forces of darkness", His Excellency is quoted as saying on the occasion of this significant event.
