POST-DELEGATIONISTS POSTURE OVER DISTANT IMPERIALISM
Whilst Parties continue to ramp up their preperations for the Election Campaign, the Post-Delegationist League has been unique in choosing to highlight ongoing global concerns, rather than focus on domestic credentials or criticism of the governing Council-Communist Party. Foremost amongst these issues has been the sudden seizure of the Implarian territories of Wightland, apparently a complicit land exchange between the Cantignian Crown and the Engellexic one, with Cantignian forces being given a free hand to do as they will with the people of the islands.
"This Government has allowed its Foreign Minister to pursue interventionist politics during the recent European Crises." stated a spokesperson for the PDL. "Yet always it has flip-flopped on its policies, wavering between condemnation of millitancy and open support for nations which seek to impose backwards systems on their people." These bold words were almost certainly approved by the PDL's rising star, Representative Anita Zial, the first Party election candidate to be from a Vangalan background.
"We call on the Government to use its influence to make clear that this sort of Island Imperialism is unacceptable. For how long will indigenous and minority peoples be exploited by Autarchies and Empires?"
Anita Zial's firebrand stance has proven popular with students and others who were vocal in favour of Havenshire intervention abroad. Her support base has also begun to attract those who would traditionally vote for the Vanguardists, which has attracted notice and concern from election monitors and even representatives of the CIB.
"The Post-Delegationist League is a minor organisation which disdains traditional Party structures, and as such Anita Zial cannot be seen as its Head, but merely an elected mouthpiece for the opinions of the whole. As such, we are treating their politics with most care, and will ensure they do not violate stringent Constitutional Law, which forbids a certain degree of nationalist or imperialist policy-advocation in mainstream politics."
stated Richard Humphries, the head of the Election Monitoring Board, who have so far remained silent on other contentious parties and statements made by majority candidates.
Opinion Polls have yet to be taken on Post-Delegationist policies or support, but it is clear from unofficial online surveys that they remain a minor organisation, though one with a dangerous amount of influence over younger voters.
Wether the PDL's ardent stance on Foreign Imperialism will speak to more mainstream voters, however, remains to be seen.
