Chancellor Von Seydewitz was not really surprised by the Justinian suggestion to also cooperate on a military level, especially given the fact that that country had just faced a Kadikistani blockade. He also realised that Justiza was an easy target for the Kadikistani armed forces. But what was wise to do? It was not a good idea to station Eiffellandian, Propontine, Nichtsteiner or Burgundian troops in Justiza; Kadikistan would certainly not accept it, and Varanasi would not be happy, either. On the other hand, Justiza could use some support if it wanted to remain an independent country instead of a plaything in the hands of Kadikistan and Varanasi.
The only military option Eiffelland would have, would be offering aerial support from a distance. Luckily, Eiffelland had a strong air force. The fact that the new air force bases in Helgoland and Rügen would be ready soon would help as well. But those air force bases officially did not exist and were officially not built. Von Seydewitz could not offer their use to the Nichtsteiners, Propontines and Burgundians. At least not at this moment.

Von Seydewitz was also thinking about something else. The successor of Eiffelland's current aircraft carrier would have to be of a size that could not be built in Eiffelland. This because of problems with the design of the future Wassergeist plane, which was currently tested. The Wassergeist II was already on the design table because of those problems, but that design would need a larger aircraft carrier than the one Eiffelland currently had.

"Also we are positive about a military cooperation. We only have to think thoroughly about the way we are going to do that," he said.

OOC: I am sorry for not dropping by, but I am really really really busy currently. For all intents and purposes, Eiffelland pretty much negotiates for both himself and Nichtstein, as the Grand Duchy will rubberstamp these decisions anyway.

The ONLY things Eiffeland cannot touch is Nichtstein's claim to an archipelagic territorial sea around the Retalian Islands. Retalian Islands being all of Nichtstein's islands. But I do not think that this is impacted by the present discussions.

"we could start, for example, with joint exercises in land and sea between our military, collaborations between our intelligence and defence industries, joint monitoring of the maritime boundaries.
And maybe in the future, when we will trust one another a bit more, we may think to sign an official alliance and make a true teamwork on the international scale.''

"We are in complete accordance. Pertaining to the cooperation between our military industries, I believe that our shipyards could be of use to any friendly nations who would seek to strengthen their navy, as was seen recently with our aid to Justiza's naval expansion. I am certain that Your Excellencies' nations also have industries which could prove helpful to all of the partners in this proposed cooperation."

"Our own Navy will need a modernisation in the near future, I think, so any help on that topic from your side will definitely be appreciated," Von Seydewitz said. "From our side, our aircraft manufacturing company Dassau can help with modernising your air forces. Together with Burgundian and Nichtsteiner companies, Dassau is developing new planes, which we can deliver to befriended nations as well. Furthermore, our industries produce tanks, armoured vehicles, amphibious vehicles, terrain vehicles, artillery, field radio equipment, rockets and much more. We are currently developing missiles as well."

(Would you guys be open to inviting Ruthenia-Galicia? He seems interested in a cooperation in the Long Sea against Kadikistani expansion)

"Justinian aircrafts are, sadly, museum pieces; so a bit of help from Eiffelland would really be immensely useful to us.''

"We will definitely be able to help you out on that matter," Von Seydewitz said to the representatives from Justiza. "We could help you now with the Mysterium II, but we are also working on a faster plane, which will be introduced by the beginning of next year. By the way, that plane has the capability to land on an aircraft carrier, although that takes a lot of effort. Therefore, we are already working on another plane, but that plane will not be introduced within the next 3 years. By the way, that is something we will have to discuss. For the plane that will be introduced in 3 years, we will need a larger aircraft carrier than we currently have."

( Ruthenia-Galicia You asked me about a possible anti-Kadiki cooperation, we're discussing one here. You free to attend! :D )

"Our new Nymphi class aircraft carriers are the largest to have been built so far and we still haven't completed all of them. We're planning on further upgrading them for future purposes. We're slightly behind in the aircraft department, so if Eiffelland was able to make an aicraft carrier compatible version of their new plane, we could provide the carriers and the Kingdom could provide the planes. We would be willing to work with your engineers towards that common goal."

"To me, that will be a deal. We will definitely be able to deliver planes that can land on an aircraft carrier," Von Seydewitz said. "The technicians from Dassau Flugzeugwerke told us the following. The plane they will introduce beginning next year, the Mysterium III, will be able to land on an aircraft carrier. Originally, it was designed for our smaller type of aircraft carrier, but you need an experienced pilot to get that done. Therefore, we need the larger carrier. And we definitely need it for one of the planes we plan to introduce in 1960."

The Chancellor took a sip of his water. Then he continued.

"Of course I cannot give all the details of the new planes, but I can tell you that the Mysterium III will be able to reach a top speed of around 1975 km/h, or 1.86 times the speed of sound. With that, it will already be a revolutionary plane."

"We do have a new class of aircraft carriers, which lacks all the problems of the original Nymphi Class and is much larger. We expect the first of its ships to be completed by the end of the year. Since your fighters seem to be state of the art, we believe a state of the art aircraft carrier would be appropriate. Would you be interested in replacing the Nymphi Class with these new ships?"

"The first one will be completed by June. It was originally intended for our own navy, however, I am certain that we could use part of our civilian shipyards to make another one for our own navy. We would be glad to deliver it to you. How soon do you expect that your new planes will be ready?"

"I thank you heartily for the offer, and really appreciate it. However, I think it would be better if we follow traditions and deliver the first ship of the Poseidon Class to the Propontine Navy, also so that the first ship of the Poseidon Class will really be called Poseidon, as tradition prescribes. But would it be possible to deliver the second ship of the Poseidon Class to us? We will be able to deliver the first new planes in the beginning of next year at the latest, maybe even earlier."
