IMO the desert in the South should be extended all the way to Hajr. However, the Eastern portion of my spot (the peninsula with the mountains) is a lot greener.

Population thingy is cool.

two suggestions though:
1. We should come up with names for oceans and lakes
2. We should incorporate some mountain ranges or something for elevation.

I second all these things. :commie:

Gotta agree with Hajr on this one about the desert being expanded across the southern continent. Kediri is largely desert like(however not completely). Not sure the "environment" should really be decided by the map but perhaps by how players have their countries and then developed onto the map.

Like the populations part, and agree with having to come up with geographic names and such for the seas etc.

If we're expanding the geography, here are some Wieser geographic details you can consider:

Wiese is supposed to have a mountain range across its southern border, which are known as the Wieser Alps (Wieserreichischen Alpen) - from there north, it is generally hilly or flat meadowlands, which is domestically known as the geographical region of die Germanische Wiesen or "the Germanic meadows." Other variant names for the meadows are Wieserreich (archaic, now used as the nation's name) and die Deutsch-Wiesen (or "German Meadows".)

If rivers count, I recall striking "a deal" among myself, Hosagovinia and Eiffelland for a river beginning from the Wieser Alps (in Wieser territory; navigatable, with one or two major inland ports in my territory) and crossing into Hosagovinia and then Eiffelland. We'd dub it the Rhine, though I am sure the other two have other river ideas to link there as well.

I'd also be interested in a river floating from the Alps into Franken and then the sea as well.

Concerning global geography & names: I do think that the area "near me" (due to a lack of better name) can be named after historical names, such as Germania (where the Germanic states exist) and the likes. I remember Beau had nice ideas for the areas to my east as well.

I'd be careful with expanding geography too much since players might leave, new players might take old spots, and have a different geography, leading to more work for the mapmaker. Players might also just change geography in general.

So past very general geographic features ("a great big desert extends across the majority of the South", "it's cold as shit in the far North", etc.) I'd avoid adding too much geography.

Of course, if the mapmaker is fine with doing all that work, then consider this post moot :p

EDIT: I like the population thingies, BTW.

Any possibility of an easily editable blank map for the more photoshop impaired among us?

That would be so great.

I have one out already... it's not the best in the world though. I'll make another one soon that's a little cleaner if necessary.

EDIT: I'm going to have to put a new one out anyway because of the changes.

I love the updated terrain, and the west has been improved. However, I'm not certain I like the outlines for the countries, especially for islands. They look way too pixelated.

Yeah, maybe tweak those a little, though they're not an eyesore by a long shot IMO.

You might wanna make the text on the map a little larger, especially those of cities and islands belonging to nations.

Finally, the southern coast of Himyar is not icy. I'd say it's tropical. Bit strange to go from giant friggin' desert to tundra in the space of a few miles.

I thought that was cool :p

As if continental drift had moved the desert climate into the cold. :D Or at least that's how I saw it.

Looks great, but I somehow lost my islands and my city of Linden is no longer connected to the sea.

Nice West. However, I do not like the new border outlines. They make the water between Batavië and Arendaal look cut off and one of my offshore islands looks connected to the mainland and bigger than it should be.

BTW, that big lake in the south, bordering spots #402 and #404, should be the same color as the sea. Just doesn't look good atm

Exists nowhere IRL, please remove it e_e

Speaking of frost, could you push the frozen zone north in Kyiv a bit? My peeps need somewhere to live.

I'll try and make a map.

Id suggest a moratorium on creating islands. Our seas have become...well....put it this way. There is a scene in the Hunt for Red October where the russian ambassador is told that his aircraft have dropped enough sonar buoys so that one could walk from Greenland to Iceland to Scotland without getting his feet wet...just an idea

I personally think the west should just be sunk.

Seriously, why do we need the west? We're not getting a huge influx of new members, and we don't even need an influx for that matter. People are not creating puppet nations left and right anymore(thank god), and we still got plenty of spots left in southern Himyar that don't HAVE to be Muslim, if a little interesting history is applied. Waste of space if you ask me.

Also, the more I look at the map, the more I hate the border outlines, especially when they're touching the oceans. Those should probably be changed.
