I love the Torrientes and I really hope they will win. Even bought tickets for the 1st match in Callao, but seeing the recent news from Monterrey, it makes me think that I might have found the 2nd team to follow and root for. There is just something very wholesome about the Mangos and their social campaign against drugs and criminality, mixing in with their training. The Correntine ministry of Finances has published a document stating their expectations for the Copa de la Tiburanidad. With so many matches already being sold out, many sponsorships, and such a level of publicity, they expect the Copa de la Tiburanidad to win about 2 billion Quris (500 million EM) for the refugee aid programs. It is interesting to observe that it is around the same sum as the money retracted by Corrientes from Gran Occidentia, which was then offered as a development fund for Monterrey. #ElEspectador #WesternJournalism​

I understand how for Occidentia, this cup is important, not solely because of the football, but rather because it gives people a chance to rally around the flag. It is an exercise in patriotism, the difference being that we play with the ball, not kill each other with guns. 63 million people just in Corrientes and probably 20 more million outside of it are rooting for Torrientes and we will gladly wave the Blancazul flag. #Vamos #Torrientes​

Los Mangos have become a vector of social change in Monterrey. Their football popularisation campaign, which also included anti-violence, anti-drug and pro-respect messages has been extremely popular. It fills my heart with joy as I drive around Embarcadero, Puerto Floria, Acahay and Yhu, to see kids of all ages enjoy a game outside, in peace and tranquillity. Just yesterday the gun surrender program has started and we have already had 300 pistols and 50 submachine guns given to the authorities.
