Insurgents Attack in Pasha, 13 Dead
Insurgents attacked in Pasha Wednesday, March 3, killing 13 according to official sources. Unity Front officials tell us that the incident occurred shortly after Police received valid intelligence from Citizen Informants which allowed Police to raid insurgent cells within Pasha.
However, insurgents were well armed with automatic rifles and body armor, as well as explosives. Police forces were rebuffed and forced to regroup, allowing insurgents time to seize a nearby office building. Insurgents immediately began to capture hostages, which is when police units mobilized to take the building by force.
Moments after insurgents began executing hostages, police forces gassed the structure and assaulted the insurgents. However, 13 citizens were killed in the firefight, as well as four of the five insurgents. The fifth insurgent, Ashok Talara, was arrested. His trial is expected to begin within the month.
Police have issued statements regarding the incident, and sources within the Pasha PD have suggested that Citizen Informants have provided Unity Front officials with information suggesting a solid connection between the attack on Pasha and the communist fraction in the North. More information as it is released.

Economy Continues Stability, DoI Expansion
The economy has continued to increase at a stable rate despite setbacks, sources within the DoI stated earlier today. The Department of Industry announced that it would look forward to expanding the services sector, as well as direct investments towards the electronics manufacturing sector.
Currently, the Unity Front economy relies heavily upon various exported products, primarily refined oil, aluminum, and consumer products. Despite several setbacks throughout the decades in the Unity Front's ongoing conflict with the communist fraction in the North, the Unity Front has maintained a strong control over it's industrial strongholds and has largely foiled any efforts at sabotage.
The DoI claims that over seventy plots to sabotage the offshore oil fields have been prevented, and over six thousand arrests have been made in the defense of the nations economy since 1943.
The DoI has cited claims to show that the Unity Front dominates the Sinhai economic landscape, the number of poor and starving within the communist fraction has continued to grow, with unemployment having risen to 28%.
The Unity Front claims that it's policy of containing the communist fraction and denying it access to imports is 'winning the war', and refutes citizens suggestions that posture that lifting the siege will cause the communist fraction to collapse entirely.

Unity Front Juggles Politics
The Unity Front continues it's struggle to be recognized as the legitimate national government of Sinhai, despite the ongoing schism between North and South. Unity Front officials cite the fact that the South's economy remains significantly stronger, literacy rates are higher, and standards of living are among the strongest in the region.
However, detractors of the Unity Front within the communist fraction point to the Unity Front's appalling levels of democracy and immigration policies, calling the Front a 'destabilizing element' in the region.
Regardless, Unity Front officials acknowledge the fact that global recognition will probably not be received until a more solid peace has been achieved between the two parties.
