Aresurai situation has chance of peaceful resolution, senior military official says
Vox Populi Nokanawa

According to a senior military official in Nokanawa, the versatile situation in Aresura is now on the path to being solved peacefully.

"I think at this current point crucial steps have been taken towards deescalation. The Constitutional State's deployment has significantly weakened the resolve of elements associated with the military junta that is trying to establish itself to seek a violent path towards the realization of its goals. Nevertheless the presence of reactionary forces in the area seeking to take control of the situation remains a matter of concern as far as maintaining peace in the area is concerned", the official, that did not wish to be named, told Vox Populi.

"I have full confidence that we will still be ready to defend liberty should it become obvious that the legitimate government of the Aresurai people has become the victim of an international conspiratory cabal against freedom."

A delegation from Nokanawa is said to be en route to meet with the government of the democratic republic to further discuss cooperation in the ongoing crisis.

Touzen Foreign Minister renews offer of cooperation
VoxPopuli Nokanawa

Touzen's Minister of Revolutionary Defense and Foreign Affairs has renewed his outreach to regional actors to solve the situation in the Aresuran Republic in a multilateral effort.

"The Constitutional State is the vanguard of democracy in the world. It is the largest power for peace and progress on this planet. It fields the most advanced and largest arsenal in the service of liberty, it is an unparalleled juggernaut for good. Over the course of this conflict, we have stated again and again that the Constitutional State will live up to the responsibilities resulting from these privileges and achievements, and this government has repeatedily extended offers of cooperation to resolve the siege of Aresuran democracy by hostile elements. Unfortunately, Delegationist actors have thus far shown unwilling to defend democracy in Boreas", Minister Hosokawa told this agency.

"The democratic Delegationists of Boreas need to live up to the expectations the people of Aresura and the international community have. Thus, I am again inviting them to come to the drawing table to formulate an united response and to defend the Aresuran Republic in unison."

"However, the Constitutional State will, if other actors do not feel the necessity to act, work with our Serbovian friends alone to protect democracy. Defending democracy in Aresura is a task this government subscribes to no matter what, and we will go all the way to do so", the minister closed.

As it is widely believed that the Touzen government is in regular contact with Loyalists in crisis-struck Aresura, foreign governments have voiced concerns about the possibility about an unwanted Touzen intervention in the conflict. When confronted with these claims, Hosokawa rejected them.

"The Constitutional State will not act in a fashion that is detrimental to the development of democracy. Our entire commitment to Aresura has been in the service of democracy, and our future engagement in the area will continue to be led by the principle of supporting the Aresuran people in maintaining their democratic institutions."

1800 Attend Public Lecture on Yamagata Tarō
VoxPopuli Capitollium

Stefan Hvit, an officer of the Central Committee of the Intersectionalist-Sarconist Revolutionary Alliance and longtime philosophy professor at the Capitollium has offered the first of a series a free open-air lectures on Yamagata Tarō. "We stand on the threshold of a free society," Professor Hvit explained, "but superstition threatens to hold us back from the great stride we must take."

More than 1,800 students and citizens of Yungdrung Gutsak attended the lecture, which was held at the Gravplass Memorial Amphitheater on the central grounds of the Capitollium University. A Tagzig-language edition of Yamagata Tarō's The Last Free Man, newly off the press in Touzen, was distributed. The book is a classic of Postdelegationist thought.

In an exclusive interview with VP-Oelar, Comrade Hvit commented upon how historic the lecture was: "Westerners and especially Oelarians have not been exposed to Postdelegationist thought. As our people prepare to make sweeping constitutional changes, we are embarking on a campaign to educate the new generation of leaders. What would it mean to infuse our democratic and intersectionalist movement, the intellectual legacy of G. R. R. Sarkon, with the rich intellectual tradition of Postdelegationism? How will these modern concepts change our traditional culture and way of life? These are all questions we need to have on our minds right now."

National Convention Ratifies Postdelegationist Constitution
VoxPopuli Capitollium

The 50 delegates of Olmolungring's National Constitutional Convention ratified a new constitution that political observers are calling a hybrid of the Kaprun Agreement and the postdelegationist principles of the Intersectionalist League of Oelar (ILO). The president of the convention, ILO General Secretary Alasdair J. Symeon, called it a "historic day" for the country. The margin of ratification was 28-7 with 15 delegates abstaining.

Ratification was substantially closer, however, because all 7 votes against came from one of the three constituent republics, the city-states of Knytlingsfort, Yungdrung Gutsak, and the port of Issverth. All of the city-states were given the prerogative to reject the document by majority vote. The Knytlingsfort Autonomous Republic's delegation voted to 'not disapprove' the constitution by a razor-thin 8-7 vote. All 8 votes were ultimately tallied as abstentions, joining at-large delegates from the Eastern Frontier Region who were also tepid on the proposal.

The translated synoptic version of the document is below:

WE the nation of the Realm that lies in the long shadow of the morning sun over High Kailash, faithful to our servant-guides the Ancient Lords and the Great Rigpa, assemble in Freedom to raise our heartmind to the Heavenly Mysteries. Long a light to the nations, we rededicate this Great Council to its ancient task of recreating a new Human Society in the spirit of friendship to testify to the sacredness of Mankind.

Article 1. We recognize the ancient rights of the citizens of the three great citadels to form republics on non-delegationist principles, whereby each citizen may endorse his fellows and friends for the legislature, and whereby the constitution of the legislature shall be those Hundred with the most endorsements at any given time, fluctuating according to daily recounts as necessary.
Article 2. We unite these three republics under the Rigpa and his Great Council, and the Council shall be twelve (with five selected by the Hundred of Knytlingsfort, four selected by the Hundred of Yungdrung Gutsak, and three selected by the Hundred of Issverth each year) and retain its ancient function of selecting the Rigpa.
Article 3. We invite the Rigpa to select a government that shall attend to matters of war and peace, relations with foreign powers, trade, the adjudication of justice under the Doom of the Realm [that is to say criminal law], commerce within the borders, and raising taxes for these purposes.
Article 4. We invite the Hundreds to select governments that shall attend to the maintenance of schools, hospitals, welfare programs, creating and upholding statutes of local law and custom [that is to say civil law], and raising taxes for these purposes.
Article 5. We reserve to the Great Council the right to interpret the meaning of the constitution it hereby brings into being.

Nokawa appoints new ambassador to Oelar
VoxPopuli Capitollium

It wasn't even the main point on the agenda of the Ministry of Revolutionary Defense and Foreign Affair's daily press conference, yet one that was widely received with great interest by those in the know: Sasaki Kojirō would become the new ambassador of the Constitutional State to Oelar.

Sasaki, an economist that had previously sat on the All Citizens' Congress and worked as an economist for the Freedom Foundation, was thus far not known for having been considered as a candidate for a diplomatic position. Yet with the recent political and social changes in the Germanian country, Nokanawa decided that a specialist was needed to address the situation at hand. Sasaki is that - his economic knowledge has been lauded even outside the borders of Touzen. But what distinguishes him even more: unlike the majority of his Shinto-Buddhist fellow citizens, Sasaki is a practicing Tiburan Catholic. And although religion is a non-issue in diplomatic service, it might be just the personal link that might give him the edge for cultural understanding of the Oelar people.

Indeed, the designated ambassador already said that he was looking forward to working with the Oelar people, with whom he "shares common beliefs, both political and spiritual in nature." Christian ethics, as advocated in his books Ethics of the Free Market and Acts 2:45 - God's Road to Communitarianism? play a large role in his platforms and have found critical academic acclaim.

The ambassador is scheduled to begin his work next Monday.

Sources suggest Saan military moving to oust regime in Thaesan
Vox Populi Nokanawa

Anonymous sources within Thaesan have suggested that the People's Guard, the military of Thaesan, may be moving to oust the central government, though the claims cannot be independently verified because of harsh censorship laws preventing free media from operating in the nation. The anonymous source provided amateur video and pictures to back up their claims, showing Saan military assets stationed outside State TV and Radio stations, as well as surrounding the capitol port, which closed today to international traffic for "security reasons". It is not clear at this time if there have been any casualties, or if the intention of the military is to overthrow the Socialist dictatorship and replace it with a military junta.

Experts on Thaesan politics remark that, however convoluted the system is, it is clear that the death of the Leader Klahan Chao and the rise to prominence of the nations military general Sunan Lampoon is likely not a coincidence.

"Ordinarily, we might consider this form of political transition the modus operandi of Thaesan, however, the autobiography of Sunan Lampoon, written in a grandiloquent fashion, as well as Mr Sunan's numerous lectures and speeches on the affirmation of a great social restructuring paints a different picture," suggests expert on Saan internal affairs, Kaito Matsuda. "It seems that Sunan may be moving towards a general purge of the party, if not the nation itself, as well as a form of social engineering by force. This is a great cause for concern, the very dignity of the Saan people is at risk."

The government of People's Democratic Thaesan has failed to respond to questions on the matter, and communications into, and out of, the country have become sporadic over the past twelve hours.

Ministry of External Affairs

The People's Republic of Vangala is confident Thaesan is managing the transfer of power correctly and suggestions of a planned military coup are rumours started and spread by the enemies of socialism.

Touzen All Citizens' Congress releases statement on Bombaim
VoxPopuli Capitollium

The Touzen All Citizens' Congress, the supreme legislative body of the East Touyou democracy, has adopted a declaration with a 76% majority that officially calls for the reevaluation of the current status of the city of Bombaim as an Anglyn dependency. An international dispute has been going on for days after the Vangalan Foreign Minister had called for the Anglyn colony to be returned to Khalistan.

The declaration was spearheaded by a group of Congress members that are considered to lean towards Restorationist positions, thus belonging to what is generally seen as the more radical wing of the Post-Delegationist movement. However, the ideas of the bill quickly gathered support amongst others members of the Congress, leading to the outcome of the declaration being adopted today.

The text of the declaration states that "unequal treaties extorted from defenseless Touyou communities during the age of Imperialism violate all norms of law that we are used to today. As such, treaties such as these that have been signed under the threat of force, hold no legal power anymore today and are in violation of all ethical standards. [...] The All Citizens' Congress is appalled at revisionist statements that blatantly ignore the historic realities of colonialism and finds it unacceptable that people in public offices support the idea of white-washing one of the most disgraceful periods of the West's history, either by willful ignorance or endorsement of these very same principles.[...] Ongoing support for the status quo is unacceptable, and we call upon the governments of Anglyn and Khalistan to move towards an end of colonialism in Khalistan, just as we call for the end of all forms of colonialism throughout Touyou."

With the declaration, the All Citizens' Congress finds itself to be on the same side as the People's Republic of Vangala in the conflict. But the group that spearheaded the declaration would have none of it: "Just because the Vangalan government and the Congress of the Constitutional State have adopted the same position in this issue we have of course not abandoned our various grievances with the regime in power in that country", Matsumoto Takeshi, one of the original sponsors, said.

Bemjamin Stokes, Chief Colonial Officer for Foreign Affairs, has been instructed to encode the following dispatch from
Felix Ilchester, the Chancellor of the Commonwealth of Cantigny

To the Patriotic Sons & Daughters of Touzen

Cantigny no less than fully supports the Touzen All Citizens' Congress in its popular declaration for hope and overdue liberty for the Patriotic Peoples of Bombaim. As a sovereign nation, the Commonwealth of Cantigny recognizes Bombaim as a rightful territory of Greater Touyou, and firmly demands that the Kingdom of Anglyn begins reforming its approach of marshal authority over Bombaim.
