Live Fire Drills Conducted In Shadow of Meghalaya's

The National Revolutionary Army carried through with planned live fire drills throughout Saturday, with a large host of weapons deployed to show off the military's firepower and adaptable arsenal. President Yang and scores of state officials and military officers watched as the ground forces conducted live fire drills. Artillery units displayed the ground forces capacity to perform counterbattery, counterpreparation, final protective, and interdiction drills designed to halt any potential breakthrough. Armored units also conducted drills designed to test the accuracy and training of troops, and marksmanship drills were conducted for the viewing pleasure of the President and select members of the military officer corps.

The live fire drills are preparatory operations which are being conducted prior to war games, which will commence at midnight and continue throughout Sunday. Despite condemnation by the People's Republic of Vangala and reports of increased Vangalan troop activity along the border, Generalissimo Zhang Qiangguo ordered the operation to continue as scheduled.

"The fact that the Vangalans are so willing to deploy military assets abroad is proof that they need to be conducted in the first place. The regime is becoming aggressive, and we can not rely on pen-and-paper tactics to rebuff a real attack, we need to have tested and proven tactics and strategies," representatives for the military were cited as saying.

Vangalan nuclear ambitions, however, continue to proceed despite the Republic's own calls for temperance and diplomatic alternatives. When asked how the Republic would respond to a nuclear threat in a potential war between the two regional powers, the President simply dismissed the possibility. "The People's Republic does not have the capacity to deploy nuclear weapons at this time. What's more, such crude and recklessly destructive weapons would have little effect against combat operations. The only possible use for such weapons is to attack civilian centers in Yujin proper - and we do not believe that the Communists are insane enough to do so without sufficient provocation."

The President did add that the People's Republic maintained a number of contingency plans that encompassed pre-emptive and retaliatory strategies in the event of a nuclear attack, but reiterated that diplomacy between the two states was more important to preventing a mutually destructive conflict. With Vangalan exporting it's brand of Communism abroad, and coming into ideological conflict with its own compatriots, it is clear that the nation is poised to go rogue. Whether or not the new regime is bold enough to commit to an attack on the Republic of Yujin is a possibility only theories can speculate on.

We shall be monitoring the escalating situation ever so closely. We wish to express our displeasure with the rising tensions in the region, yet also keep it clear that we respect the right of all sovereign countries to conduct themselves within their own borders as seen fit. We do sincerely hope all future military actions in the region remain restricted to preparatory war games and nothing more. President Miirko Natanbayev wishes also to reiterate that the offer for unconditional regional talks in Almatii remains an open offer to all interested and concerned parties.

The new, Post-Delegationist Boliaturian nation has extended a hand of freedom and friendship towards Yujin, citing that all peoples of Toyou should unite under one banner. Without any reason for conflict, and the oil pipeline pumping crude oil into Yujin refineries, the relations between Yujin and Boliatur are already mutual and cordial. With rising tensions, Boliatur seeks haven in the arms of fellow Post-Delegationist republics. Essentially, Boliatur wishes to establish an embassy and will allow Yujin to establish an embassy of its own in Myrsini. As well as this, Boliatur also seeks a trade agreement to regulate the flow of trade due to the recent closing of Wasatch markets.​

Republican Congress Emergency Session Delivers Preliminary Results

The Boliaturan Revolution which toppled a moderate left-wing government earlier this month has had a profound impact on Yujin internal politics and policies. Almost immediately after the revolution, a special Congressional session was held without public access to determine the appropriate response to this issue. Lasting for nearly two weeks, the special Congressional session has delivered their preliminary report, and is said to be working on policies that will 'drastically re-orient Yujin's stance in regards to the post-Delegationist and anti-Party threat'.

Boliatur was previously ruled by an authoritarian left-wing state with moderate policies in regards to Yujin, but was overthrown in a surprising coup which has shifted the balance of power on the continent in favor of Touzen and the post-Delegationist movement. Both Vangala and Yujin have condemned the revolution, which both nations attribute to Freedom Foundation-backed paramilitary and terrorist organizations. The Freedom Foundation was established by, and is widely believed to still represent, Touzen political theorists and terrorists.

The Congressional session preliminary report has called for a total mobilization of National Revolutionary Army air and missile defense units, unilateral redeployment of units in the Meghalaya's and the Qiangzhou to the Jurchen, Seoran, and Siyang border regions, as well as a general mobilization of over 50% of the nations armed forces. As well, the military budget, which was increased this year to 16% of the GDP for FY2013, will no longer strictly regulate the military's finances and instead be abstracted, essentially providing the armed forces with a blank check for military spending this year. Neither the GGD, nor any significant opposition parties, have stated that the invocation of selective service protocols is off the table.

Generalissimo Zhang Qiangguo has increased the civil and martial defense readiness alerts to high, and all citizens are to report to their local militia prefectures for training and combat readiness. Additionally, all towns and villages in Dongbei Province are ordered to initiate mandatory evacuations, and military and guard units are to begin fortifying all urban areas with a population higher than 250,000 with sandbags and temporary bunkers.

President Yang has called for Touzen and Boliatur to initiate dialogue immediately in order to dissuade this crisis, which the Republic of Yujin views as an overtly aggressive action against the stability of the region. The Seoran Free State has joined together with Yujin in condemning the actions in Boliatur in recent weeks and has fully mobilized their armed forces and paramilitary guard, though experts attribute this largely to increased anti-Party activism in that nation in recent weeks.

Cantignia is committed to total security in Oceania; we thus realize that only through cooperation with Yujin and other allies, that are likewise committed, can we achieve our noble goals of harmony in the friendly confines.

Those interested in preserving their culture will not hesitate from taking the necessary measures to defeat extremist terror where it hides. The Oceanic Realms intend to honor previous defense and intelligence agreements with the Republic of Yujin by sharing its findings in pursuing this wide range of threats. Oceanians are not victims, and we will not allow our region to be victimized by radicals with violent ideals. We charge our allies in Yujin to continue its front against terror by watching its continental region, as we diligently monitor the Implaric & Oceanic Territories.

Whilst we believe every state has the right to defend itself and take appropriate preparatory actions, we find Yujin's response to the revolution possibly as not in proportion with the state of affairs. We are also concerned with the military build ups and mobilisations called for, which will doubtlessly take place close to our southern borderlands. To alleviate concerns in Almatii it would be helpful if our military administrations could communicate effectively during these times to allay fears and prevent misunderstandings.

We are mostly concerned with both any outbreak of war and of an arms race in Toyou. Lastly we offer our services as a mediator between concerned parties whether conflict breaks out or not.
