Conclusion of the 2nd Congress of the Socialist Programme Party

The 2nd Congress of the Socialist Programme Party has officially concluded after an exquisite ceremony hosted by the great leader and comrade, guider of the people of Arakan and of the SPP, Thakin Zeya. The Congress took place at the "Proletarian Internationalism" Stadium in Pathein, started on Monday and it concluded officially on Friday night.

The most discussed subject in the congress was the upgrading of the original essay "The Arakanese Way of Socialism", written by the Comrade Premier U Sein and thus the congress has brought many changes from the first way the ideology was seen by the Arakanese communists to the current one, seen as the best adaption of the principles of socialism to the situation in Arakan.

The main change brought to the Arakanese Socialism is the rejection of the world revolution. The SPP has concluded that the whole idea of world revolution is utopic and in reality it cannot take place. The Great Comrade Thakin Zeya declared that in reality, each people must work by itself to have the conscience necessary to build socialism and thus each has the mission to develop its own socialism and achieve communism, over starting pointless wars with capitalist and bourgeois nationalist nations.

The other important change brought to discussion was the cessations of the plans to build a powerful heavy industry in the early steps of the development of socialism. Comrade Premier U Sein described the situation by presenting the dialectic levels of development and thus evidenced the fact that a nation building socialism cannot develop its agriculture at the same time as the industry. Comrade U Sein stressed the fact that the first four 8-year plans have to be concentrated on the development of a powerful and modern agricultural sector and only then the people should concentrate on heavy industry. Of course, there are exceptions on this, as a modern industry needs tractors and for that, Comrade Thakin Zeya declared that the Party will work tirelessly to organize the industry necessary to be sure that there will be no dependence from capitalist and imperialist nations.

The Congress ended with a ceremony at the Thuranda Palace in Pathein, where the members sang the Internationale and shared their opinions on the subjects discussed.

The Council of Commissars supports the Carian Revolution

The Council of Commissars, under the lead of Premier U Sein and guidelines of Thakin Zeya have officially issued a statement of solidarity and support for the Carian City-State of Sounio and to the Carian Democratic Army. The statement comes at a time in which the two Carian factions, the liberty loving democrats and the despots from Nauplio have decided to meet in Antikyra to discuss a possible way to avoid further bloodshed of the innocent Carian people.

"The Cooperative Republic of Arakan has decided to stand in solidarity with the people of Sounio in the fight for national, social and political determination of their own sovereignty from the despotic tyrants in Nauplio. It is clear that the regime cannot stop this domino effect and for that we pressure them to accept an advantageous peace with the free Carians from Sounio and even to enact some social policies that will improve the quality of life for the simple people.

It is clear that a civil war is one of the worst things that can happen to a nation, but the capitalistic exploitation is unbearable when it reaches the bone and even continues with even more aplomb. We hope that the Carian Internal Conflict will end in such a way that the suffering will end. Either the suffering brought by the war, or the suffering brought by the extreme exploitation have to end, for the best of the people and of the geopolitics of Southern Gallo-Germania."

The statement also brings another similar subject to discussion in the Council of Commissars, as the members of the Hongmenghui who have fought in the Yujiner civil war in the Southern Red Front have taken refugee in Arakan but their situation is still far from being cleared out. The Council hadn't yet declared if they will be ready to give the Hongmenghui members political asylum or they will be surrendered to the Military Caretaker Government in Yujin, led by Colonel Sha Ruidiao. The Great Comrade Thakin Zeya has declared that there are many things that have to be discussed first the status of the Hongmenghui refugees and secondly the Arakanese Claim on the territory in southern Yujin known in Arakan as Thandang.

The Self-Strengthening Junta approve military modernization program

After the vote on the military modernization ended with three approvals, from the Empress Dowager Citra, the Field Marshall Kuwat and Prince Krisna Thuranda and two rejections, from Princes Mara Tri Thihaka and Eko Darma Bin, the Self-Strengthening Junta has thus agreed on the beginning of the military modernization of the Sublime and Imperial Army of Arakan. Military modernization has been on the agenda of the Council of Ministers of of the Self-Strengthening Junta since the beginning of the civil war in the Yujin, but in general it has not been rushed because the fighting in near the border of Arakan were of low intensity and there was little concern of any sort of spillover from Yujin.

The Modernization Program has been given now a green light with the recent events in Yujin, where the Colonel Sha Ruidiao has taken control of the military and his military regime has executed the Emperor of Yujin, effectively ending the oldest monarchy in the world. The fears of the Arakanese are based on the potential anti-monarchist elements in power now in Yujin who may be ready to expand into the rest of Toyou the chaos that still reigns in Yujin. Even if there has been no action against the recreation of the Kingdom of Seora and the return of its royal family, the Arakanese are still watchful over their northern neighbors, who in general in their history have tried in any way to conquer the Sublime Empire.

The Modernization is based on the creation of a new, Western Model Army which at the beginning will work together with the Sublime and Imperial Army but in time it will completely take over the latter's attributes. For this, the Self-Strengthening Junta has invited officers from Sikandara, Eiffelland, Bourgogne, Ivernia and Telora to help the Arakanese to train the new model army. This new army will be known after the region at the border with Yujin where it will be posted, in Mrauk.

"It isn't just a simple modernization. It is a complete replacement of the mentalities and ways of the old, Toyou style of fighting with the new, more efficient western ones. We want to first create a batch of officers trained by the foreign officers that we have invited who in time will train the whole Arakanese army, to modernize it. Our problem isn't just the weapons we use, which are also obsolete, but the whole mentality of the soldiers and of the officers needs to be changed. That is why we aren't just modernizing the army, we are completely replacing it," declared the Chairman of the Self-Strengthening Junta, the Field Marshall Kuwat.

"The duty of the Self-Strengthening Junta is to keep the country safe, especially now, in a time in which the Emperor is unable to rule by himself. We saw that the stability we have enjoyed until now has been shattered by the Yujiner Civil War and that even if the great battles of this war may be over, animosities and turmoil still remains. For that we need to be prepared to defend the Sublime Empire," declared the Empress Dowager Citra.

Empress Dowager Citra declares the beginning of a new era

It is a tradition in Arakan for each Emperor to proclaim the beginning of a new era after the first 5 to 10 years of his rule to show that his reign managed to bring stability to the Empire and this will continue under his oversight. In history, when each Emperor managed to keep the throne between 5 and 10 years he would present a new way for the development of the country and that guideline would be kept until a new emperor would have ushered a new era. The last Emperor, Iskandar Darma has declared that in his era, the most important thing will be economical development and more specifically, industrialization. Because of that, during his reign, two steelworks were opened in Panthein and Kyunhla, textile manufacturers appeared in the most important cities and railways started linking the big cities. Today, with the problems of the Sublime Emperor Iskandar Iman, the Self-Strengthening Junta, in particular the Empress Dowager Citra has declared that the Darma Era has ended and the Iman Era has begun.

At the meeting of the Self-Strengthening Junta, the Empress Dowager declared that now, the most important thing for Arakan is to repeat what it has done during the reign of Emperor Krisna Lestari, more than 200 years ago, but in mirror. Emperor Krisna Lestari has opened Arakan to the western merchants and today, the Empress Dowager Citra, mother of Emperor Iskandar Iman, in the name of her son, declared that from now on, Arakan will end it's self imposed isolation and will pursue a more active foreign policy and it will be more present around the world.

"We need to break all the stereotypes around the world concerning Arakan and thus we must present ourselves as the powerful country that we really are. For this, I have decided that we will still keep the guidelines of the Darma Era, but we will also add the guidelines of this second openness into the tenets of the Iman Era," declared the Empress Dowager.

We thank the Sublime Empire for its invitation to Teloran military officers and investors to go to the Empire and share in its ongoing growth and development. Teloran companies are free to engage in such activities without the approval of the federal government, however, we ask that Arakan allow us to appoint a Commercial Officer to our embassy in Pathein to help co-ordinate between their government officials and Teloran businesses.

On the matter of military officers, as any deployment of military personnel beyond our borders requires an affirmative vote in Congress, approval of any exchange will only be forthcoming after Congress returns in January. However, the President has authorised Ministry of Defence officials to travel to Arakan and discuss how Telora can best contribute to the process of modernisation, given our own limited military capacity.

The President extends his sincere wishes, on behalf of the people of Telora, that this can be the beginning of a new, strong bond between our two countries.

The Sublime and Imperial Majesty, Emperor Iskandar Iman wishes to thank the Federal Republic of Telora and the Kingdom of Weifel in the name of the Arakanese people for their swift responses. The Self-Strengthening Junta also wishes to thank you for your reactions and hopes that in the future, Arakan can rise again to become what it was once upon a time, a great power in Toyou. The Military Modernization, which will create the ever victorious new model army is an important step for this, as the Sublime Empire needs to protect it's borders, it's people and it's interests. We hope that with Teloran and Weifel help, the Tentara, the new army will prove that it's strong enough to do its duties. As for the economical dealings, the Self-Strengthening Junta understands that Occidental Mercantilism needs some provisions to know for sure that their investment is put into a stable country. For that we would like to remind them that the Arakanese state functions since what the westerners call the 17th Century BC and it has been one of the most stable countries of the whole continent. In the North, one can see anarchists and lawlessness in the Touzen regions; Wars, communists, regicide and military dictators in Yujin, imperialist interventions from the Sikandari, our brothers of faith and more communists and disruptions in Seora. Compared to those, Arakan is by far the most stable country in the whole continent, even if in the light of the new events, Seora starts to return back to its Allah-given legitimate reign of Imperial Stability.

We will of course extend our invitations, both for military and economical investments to the Kingdom of Weifel. U Lothar von Hergst is gladly welcomed to Panthein to meet with the Self-Strengthening Junta to discuss the matters at hand and maybe, if successful, even cement the prodigious relationship we are about to create. We also hope that in January, the Teloran Congress will be ready to accept our invitations and we will also accept to meet with the Teloran Commercial Officer to see what can be done. We hope that the Occidentals will understand what potential does the Sublime Empire has and with it, how ready we are to extend our commercial boundaries through the extensions given to the Occidental Companies. The whole world needs to understand that we are now living in the Second Era of Openness that, if successful may even overshadow the first one.

The Sublime Empire is in shock. His Sublime and Imperial Majesty, Emperor Iskandar Iman has been pronounced dead by the physicians at the Mara Zi Palace.

"His problems were so grave in the last few weeks that it was only a matter of time. It was another stroke that hit him, but this time, we couldn't have done anything. We used everything we had available. The Ministry of Health brought to the Mara Zi Palace the most modern medicine and hospital gadgets but it seemed that sometimes, even with the most modern technology, we simply cannot stop and say no to Karma. Sadly, we had to pronounce the Emperor dead after we tried to resuscitate him for fifteen minutes. "

"People from Panthein and from the whole Sublime Empire are now turning towards the Mara Zi Palace to bring one last homage to the late emperor. The reign of Emperor Iskandar Iman started in 1945 with great hopes, but most of them were shattered by the stroke that hit the Emperor three years later. In the next years, the Self-Strengthening Junta ended the Emperor's political life, as the stroke left him with vascular dementia, which worsened year by year. After a series of incidents the Emperor has also stopped his public appearances, literally leaving the whole country in the hands of the Self-Strengthening Junta. In the last two years, the country was full of rumors regarding the Emperor's state, many of them saying he might already be dead, as there was nothing heard about him for two whole years. Emperor Iskandar Iman was married with Su Yadana Bin, a princess from the Bin family of mixed Christian-Islamic descent, but he didn't had any children with her. This means that the Peacock Throne will be inherited by the Emperor's brother, Prince Sein Cho Hway."

"It is hard to see that your children have to be buried by you and also don't leave behind any offspring. But analyzing all the happenings since my firstborn was enthronet and looking at him at how he suffered I believe that this is for the best. In this life, his sufferings were consequences for the bad karma he may have had in the previous life. I hope that with this, he has redeemed himself and in the next life he won't have to suffer life this again. As for the future, the throne will be taken by my second son, Prince Sein Cho Hway. "Prince Sein Cho Hway is a controversial figure in Arakanese politics, as he is know as a powerful supporter of democracy and constitutionalism. The republican circles in Arakan support him, as his political life is marked by a series of events, the arch-royalists call incidents, as he publicly demanded for some time, the disbandment of the current constitution, which he described as being just an institutionalization of autocracy and authoritarianism. He is known for declaring that the Sublime Empire is a peculiar country, the only one, which has has a constitution, but it has still kept its "ancien regime" form. He is a supporter of a democratic constitutional monarchy and he is supported by the intelligentsia, the bourgeois, secular Buddhists and the Thuranda Viceroy. The conservatives are hoping that the Self-Strengthening Junta may keep the future emperor from doing all the changes he was asking for in the past, but the powers given to him by the current constitution, gives him the chance to disband the junta from the first moment he is enthroned. Even if his liberal ideas have been described as being just teenage or childish idealism, the fact that even in the Mara Zi Palace, he has surrounded himself with philosophers, secularists, middle class people and many westerners, is a powerful sign that change is about to come in the Sublime Empire."

Viceroy Maung Nye Miat Thuranda leaves the Self-Strengthening Junta

In support of the reforms called by Prince Sein Cho Hway, who will soon we crowned Emperor of Arakan, the Viceroy of Mrauk, Maung Nye Miat decided to resign his membership in the Self-Strengthening Junta. The Thuranda family have always been staunch supporters of the Minkhaung dynasty and were always known for standing side by side with the ruling house, so for many, the decision of the Viceroy, to stand side by side with the heir of the Peacock throne is no surprise. His Sublime Highness Maung Nye Miat stressed that the Self-Strengthening Junta should have already been disbanded, as it is just a remnant from the reign of Emperor Iskandar Iman, which is not needed anymore. He is seen just as the tip of the iceberg, as many people start to see the Self-Strengthening Junta as being a remnant from another era that may have been legitimate in the 19th century, but not in the middle of the 20th century, being described as an authoritarian, ossified state organ which under the mask of a regency council hides the fact that its a spring for corruption, nepotism and
inefficiency.

"Currently, the Self-Strengthening Junta is just a state organ that is delaying Arakan in it's way to democracy and future prosperity. It may have been needed when Emperor Iskandar Iman was still alive, but now it is just there to try to stop Prince Sein Cho Hway and his reforms, to keep the country in its absolutist state and thus to stop its evolution. Knowing may of the Junta's members, I wouldn't be surprised if they would do anything to stop the future Emperor rule, so that themselves can remain in power. The truth is, that the Council of Ministers and the Consultative Assembly have no reason to exist in their current form. Those are just some creations to imitate western monarchies with their governments and parliaments, but in Arakan, I saw now, that the Junta holds the real power. I don't believe I ever saw the Consultative Assembly have a meeting since the Self-Strengthening Junta took power. If the Empress Dowager wishes the best for her son, she should resign from the Junta as quick as possible and support him and the democratic reforms. Either way, when he will be crowned, the Emperor will disband this corrupt structure," declared Viceroy Maung Nye Miat.

"I know change will come soon, as my second son was always open to western ideas and a staunch supporter of progress. I understand what his highness, the Viceroy thinks about the Junta and sincerely, I was also shocked many times to see how things are done, but I feel that from a political point of view, I was matured by the years I was a part of it. Though I believe that it may be an archaic structure, the Junta is still needed. Prince Sein Cho Hway will need it, to be kept as a consultative assembly for the Emperor, like how the council of ministers also has a consultative assembly. I understand that there is need to change and to reform, but I don't believe that a complete disbandment of the Junta is necessary," declared the Empress Dowager.

Modern resort opened north of Panthein

The Bokor Seaside Resort has been officially inaugurated by the members of the Self-Strengthening Junta, as the second great Arakanese tourist resort, the other one being the Mrauk Mountain Station, in the north, near the border with Yujin. The resort has been constructed to offer luxurious housing for foreign tourists, but also for the Arakanese tourists, who have more modest financial capabilities, than the westerners visiting the country. The Resort is 30 kilometers north of Panthein and has been named after a 10th century castle that existed on the coast, whose ruins can be easily visited as its no more than 4 kilometers away from the hotels.

The Bokor Seaside Resort currently has three 2-stars hotels, two 3-stars hotels, one 4-stars hotel and a 5-star hotel, with leisure facilities for tourists. The resort is owned by the National Office for Tourism but it open for private investments. The buildings were build in the modernist, New Arakanese Architecture, which blends traditional Arakanese and other South Toyou decorations with western modernist and futurist architectural styles. The authorities declared that in time, they wish to fill the 30 kilometers distance between Panthein and Bokor with a series of modern resorts for tourists, creating the Arakanese riviera and thus moving the tourist hotspot from the Long Sea more to the East, offering quality services at much lower prices than their Gallo-Germanian equivalents.

"We hope that this is the first move from our plans to economically develop Arakan. This country's culture, history, religion and placement on the map, makes it ideal for tourism. Currently, the people are in need of something new, something exotic, something fresh and with this I believe that we can achieve it, as here the people can enjoy what they describe as being the complete exoticism of the Arakanese country, but also be serviced as they are used to in Gallo-Germania," declared Mara Tri Kumara.

The National Office for Tourism currently searches for foreign tourism agencies to offer them the services of the Arakanese tourism industry. Currently the places in the Bokor hotels are booked until the middle of May, next year.

Self-Strengthening Junta delays the coronation ceremony

The Self-Strengthening Junta, decided, with three votes for and one vote against to delay the coronation ceremony of Prince Sein Cho Hway with Empress Dowager Citra being the only one who voted against this delay. The Chairman of the Self-Strengthening Junta, Field-Marshall U Kuwat declared that the Self-Strengthening Junta will remain in power as long as it is needed, to be sure that the succession from the late emperor Iskandar Iman to the new one, will be smooth and that Prince Sein Cho Hway, will be ready to take the Peacock throne. For that, the Field-Marshall invited the Prince in the Self-Strengthening Junta to gain experience on how to rule the country up to the point in which he will be ready to rule all by himself and be crowned. As a response to that, the Empress Dowager also, left and resigned from the Junta. Field-Marshall U Kuwat is also stressing on the fact that Emperor Iskandar Iman was a muslim and that Prince Sein Cho Hway is a Buddhist. He declared that there may be repercussions from the Muslim minority if the current Price would not convert to Islam, as he would be one of the few members of the Minkhaung family who are Buddhist. For that, U Kuwat advised the Prince not to leave the Mara Zi Palace so that he can be safe.

"The Self-Strengthening Junta needs to remain in power as of current, as the prince is not ready to rule by himself. We may expect even a potential civil war coming from the animosities between the Buddhist and the Islamic groups in the country. The Minkhaung family came to power with Sikandari help a few centuries ago and in response for that help, they converted to Islam. In those terms, that would make Prince Sein Cho Hway, an apostate and the Koran says that apostates are to be executed. We cannot let this happen, so we decided to invite the Prince in the Self-Strengthening Junta in which he can gain the experiences necessary to rule this country. We also need to give the Muslims in Arakan to space to breathe to be sure that there won't be a shock from the fact that the one who will be crowned, can be officially declared by them and apostate," declared Field-Marshall U Kuwat.

"I decided to leave the Junta, because from my point of view, it has slipped too much from what it was originally meant to be. Right now, the Junta just stopped the Emperor from being crowned and it isn't because they are afraid of his lack of experience or for his safety. They stopped him because he was supporting the westernization of the Empire and it's constitutionalisation. There is no record of inter-religious violence in the Sublime Empire and even if the Muslim minority, which is less than 10% of the population, would declare my son, to be an apostate, they would move against him, as they would know that such a thing would be a suicidal move. Seeing how this Empire has sunk since the days I was a child during the reign of Emperor Tirta Raharjo, I start to understand why my son believes so much in westernization and republicanism. The members of the autocratic now, Self-Strengthening Junta are all nobles but yet I start to believe that meritocracy would be the best way of developing and modernizing this country," declared Empress Dowager Citra.

A series of high ranked officers have protested against the move of Field-Marshall U Kuwat and are hoping that the Junta would replace him from the office of supreme commander of the Arakanese Army, while others, have declared that it is the army's duty to save the Prince from what has been described as the Mara Zi Labyrinth. Prince Sein Cho Hway didn't comment anything for Panthein Times.

Political crisis in the Empire. Following the orders of Bogyoke [General] U Zaw Bo Oo, the 2nd Mechanized Division of the 1st Army of the Sublime Empire of Arakan has entered the capital with the purpose of reaching the Mara Zi Palace and liberating Prince Sein Cho Hway.

"The army has intervened in this political crisis at my orders. We swore allegiance to the Emperor and to the state. For that, I have decided to turn against the orders given by Field-Marshall U Kuwat, who ordered us to remain in our barracks.Our oaths are more important than orders given by illegitimate autocratic leaders. The Self-Strengthening Junta is keeping the Prince under house arrest so that the will not be crowned and thus he won't disband the Junta. Under my orders, the 2nd Mechanized Division has entered Panthein to liberate the Prince and to try to bring some peace to this country. The time has come for the people to finally have a say in what is happening in the country."

Prince Sein Cho Hway thanked Bogyoke U Zaw Bo Oo for his intervention and subsequent liberation and ordered the arrest of the members of the Self-Strengthening Junta, U Kuwat, Saw Mara Tri Kumara and Saw Eko Darma Bin. Still present in Panthein after his resignation from the Junta, Viceroy Maung Nye Miat Thuranda has also thanked the general for his intervention and called the people of Arakan to celebrate the liberation of the Prince. More than 300,000 people have gathered in the afternoon on the Pansodan Boulevard, in front of the Mara Zi Palace to listen to the speeches given by the Viceroy, General U Zaw Bo Oo, Prince Sein Cho Hway and Empress Dowager Citra.

"I have always understood the fact that in order to modernize itself, this country would have to end it's aristocratic autocracy and to begin implementing a real democracy. That is why, even if I can crown myself even today and become yet another absolutist emperor of this country, I don't want to do it. The crown was never planned to go to me, so I wasn't prepared for this huge burden, but now, seeing that I have to do this for the people of this sublime country, I want to change things. I want to see how the people finally take the strings and rules this country by itself. I want democracy and I want liberty! I want an end to obscurantism and to autocracy! I want an end to the sectarian policies of the Self-Strengthening Junta and to corruption! I want transparency and legality! I want modernity and progress and for this people that I love so much, I want prosperity! [incomprehensible, as crowds cheer] Soon, a new chapter from the history of the Arakanese people and state will start. If I am to be an emperor, I want to become emperor through the will of the people and for that I want to organize a referendum... [crowds cheer]... to... to see if the people of Arakan want a republic or they want a continuation of the monarchy. "

Prince Sein Cho Hway, General Zaw Bo Oo, Viceroy Maung Nye Miat Thuranda and Empress Dowager Citra have decided that a referendum must take place soon to decide on the future of Arakan. Would it be a republican or a monarchic future? Prince Sein Cho Hway was known for some time by the Arakanese people as being a supporter of republicanism, but with the crown being held by his brother, Iskandar Iman, his opinions were mostly seen as being a teenage extravagance in which he is just going against everything his older brother represented, the old order. Field-Marshall U Kuwat, together with the heads of the Bin and Kumara families, Saw Eko Darma and Saw Mara Tri have been accused by the royal family of power abuse, in the days in which they were leading the Self-Strengthening Junta, of duresse and of terrorism. They were detained in the Mara Zi Palace under the supervision of the army, so that the crowds wouldn't lynch them.

*Empress Dowager Citra*

"I now see that the country must reform. I regret my days in which I was a member of this Junta. At first I gladly supported it as I believed it is for the greater good, especially with the problems my first son had, but later it has become a tool for the continuation of autocracy. Looking at all those events retrospectively, since the last emperor died, if Ngo Kuwat wouldn't have arrested the Prince, he would have still bin a well respected member of the court. But now, with his actions, with his greed and power hunger, for just a few more days of chairmanship of the Junta, he discredited himself for life, he discredited the Arakanese monarchy and probably, when the referendum proposed by my son would end, 3,500 years of Arakanese monarchy would end, making way for the potential 1st year of the Arakanese Republic. 3,500 years can go to waste, just because someone wanted one or two more days to stay in power..."

The Prince declared that he wants the referendum to take place as quickly as possible, so that Arakan's political crisis would end and it would continue it's modernization programs with the Western Countries.

Reform referendum results

The republican cause has won a close victory over the monarchists in the referendum held in the last weekend in Arakan. With less that three percent the differences between the two, the referendum was one of the closest and the most tense electoral event in the whole world in the last decade. The referendum also marked the first electoral action in Arakan, the country being an absolute monarchy for all its history. The Hcaung, the royal guard was on high alert expecting to see violence break in the streets after the end of the vote counting, but it seems that the Arakanese people had no intention to fight each other and many celebrated, even if they were monarchists, the arrival of democracy in South Toyou.

Republic: 51.2%;
Monarchy: 48.8%
Turnout: 85,4%;

"I, as a Prince of Arakan, am glad to finally see my dreams and the people's dreams come true and see Arakan become democratic, becoming now the biggest democracy in Toyou. I am also glad to see how civilized the people have behaved, as the incidents were small, unimportant and a rare occurrence. I wish to thank you all for this. Seeing how the people is now celebrating, pro-republicans with pro-monarchists mostly not for the results but because of the voting itself it clearly shows us and our western partners that Arakan is mature, even if it is now the youngest democracy on this planet," declared Prince Sein Cho Hway.

The Sublime Empire was formally disbanded by the Minhkaung dynasty after the results were made public and it was replaced by the State of Arakan, a provisional name until a republican constitution will be put in place. The council that headed the state after the disbandment of the Self-Strengthening Junta, named the Social Progressive Council has become the provisional government, headed by the pro-republican activist, Zaw Ye Khant and its members would be a mix of republican activists and old royalists working together for Arakan.

"It is a great honor to see this country finally get what it deserves. A democratic and republican Arakan, a stable a powerful country will surely break all the stereotypes of of the Toyou peoples. We hope that our Occidental partners and friends will recognize the will of the Arakanese people and will continue cooperating with us in working to modernize Arakan," declared Zaw Ye Khant. ​

Good Evening, this is May Ei Win and welcome to the day's last news report.

The new constitution was created by the Social Progressive Council. The government, under the leadership of Zaw Ye Khant and whose members include Prince Sein Cho Hway and many other republican activists have adopted the new republican constitution of Arakan.

*Zaw Ye Khant, Paramount Leader of the State*

"We have finally decided on how the new constitution would look like and how it would define Arakan for the upcoming decades. The most importand thing that we have achieved with this is that we have finally put behind Arakan's reactionary past and now we are on the way of modernization and democracy. From now on, the State of Arakan becomes the Sublime and Democratic Republic of Arakan. It's name shows both the governmental form and the country's prestige. The red flag of the attacking peacock with the white star of the State will also remain the flag of the new republic. Regarding the state's institutions, the republic will inherit nearly all of the old, Imperial institutions that were created at the first modernization in 1907, with some exceptions. The Consultative Assembly will become the National Assembly and will function as an unicameral parliament with 1440 members, each member representing 50,000 citizens. The deputies are elected on a 4 year basis in a free, and secret vote by any citizen who is over 17 years of age. The deputies in turn will nominate and elect the Nainpandaw Adipadi, the Paramount Leader of the State who will create the government, which will be named the Supreme Council. The head of state is also the head of government. As for the creations of parties, we believe that in order to keep the democracy in Arakan alive and to avoid factionalism, regionalism and sectarianism, the political organization that will appear will have to be mature organizations to become parties and join the election process, meaning that it should have centers in 75% of the Arakanese territory and have at least 100,000 members."

Some republican activists have declared that the party creation laws are too elitist and oligarchical and that it doesn't help Arakan, but more like keeps the democratic process away from the people but into the hands of an elite. In response to that, Zaw Ye Khant declared that in time, those laws will loosen but that will happen when it is clear that there are no malevolent agents that would use the opportunity of creating new parties and use them against the Arakanese people and state. The Social Progressive Council declared that the royal family, as an acknowledgement to what the Prince did will have a reserved spot in the Supreme Council as the equivalent of a minister without portfolio. This spot is hereditary and will be given to the head of the dynasty.

"This new constitution also is our first move for de-Yujinization and de-Sikandarization of Arakan. We need to return to the old Arakanese values and traditions, which are unique in the whole Khathe but which were perverted by the Yujiner occupation of the Northern General-Governorate which still continues in half of the region and the Sikandari suzerainty over the southern regions during the Arakanese Dark Ages in the 12th to the 15th century. For that we have decided to rename the capital, disusing the SIkandari name Pathein and returning to the Arakanese name Kyauktada. We hope that the election for the parliament will take place as soon as possible so that we can end with the provisional government and organize the first republican government sanctioned by the people alone."
