Two Worlds

FEATURE DIRECTOR
Grant Hendry

FEATURE CAST
Fionntan MacFarlane, Ewen MacKinley, Ronalda MacArthur

FEATURE DESCRIPTION:

Cumbrian descended Loagin Euan (Fionntan MacFarlane) has grown up in the conservative and highly nationalistic Cumbric community of Maseru, being taught on how to act, how to speak and how to live as a proper Cumbrian. He gets a chance that many Cumbrians living in Loago are dreaming of: to study at the Dun Eidyn Polytechnic. After being told what to expect in Cumbria proper by his father (Ewen MacKinley), young Euan is completely disappointed when he sees the reality. The Cumbrians that his father told him about have long died, as the image he had was created by his grandfather who migrated from Dun Eidyn to Maseru. The old bleak and grey cities have been transformed into new shiny ones, commercial advertising illuminating the cities day and night, cars agglomerated on the streets, continuous sounds and noises and he never saw of heard of in Maseru are shocking him at first. But after a few weeks, after he meets Lillias (Ronalda MacArthur) he starts to leave behind the life in Loago and to love the realities of Cumbria. Problems hit him after an absurd error was done by the Secretariat of the Polytechnic, which mistakes him with another Euan who had the same surname as him and he has to move back to Loago. Can he adapt back to his old life in Loago, or will he be trapped in a limbo, now knowing where is place is?

OOC: 1952/2012's and 1953/2013 festivals were huge successes and I hope that we can bring them back. It's time to have some culture too, not only barbarous war and destruction.

FEATURE TITLE
Conradin of Tamaris

FEATURE DIRECTOR
Hereward P. Grueck

FEATURE CAST
Anna Ursei, Girrard Vermandois, Argante d'Este

FEATURE DESCRIPTION:

In the late 16th century the Duchy of Cigropontis was the centre of the greatest trade and labouring of slaves within the Levant. A great revolt, sparked by the execution of several hundreds of slaves by order of the Duchessa Berengaria of Cigropontis, threatened to topple in a bloody spectacle the Ducal family in Carceris, the once ducal capital. Concerned with the spread of anarchy and destruction of civilised towns and cities at the hands of the once chained unwashed masses – Pagans, Jews, Eastern Christians, the Senate of the Republic of Tortessa deployed Conradin of Tamaris with a small mercenary army to bring order back to the people of Cigropontis. Conradin and his army land in Zareptta, heroically sparing the citizens of the city the horrors and carnage that was soon to be brought upon them by the barbarous slaves that attack just as Conradin reaches the city. Zareptta is saved, and the Tortessan general and his army move forward, liberating the cities of Codonitsa and Sissia from the ruthless slaves, and returning the ruling families to their positions of power. Conradin arrives in Carceris, and he and his army engage in the bloodiest battle of the short war, culminating in an epic battle of physical strength and wit as Conradin of Tamaris valiantly takes down the bloody chief of slaves, Alexius the Dishonourable.

Conradin, with God on his side, strikes down the slave revolt and protects the people of Carceris from their impending massacre. As the victory swiftly sweeps the city and surrounding country, Duchessa Berengaria of Cigropontis is nobly freed from the prison of her ducal palace, where she leanrs and accepts that the Republic of Tortessa, through their general – Conradin of Tamaris, has found it necessary to unseat the ducal family and introduce a new authority through a Senate in Zareptta. The film theatrically depicts the heroic events that gave birth to the Tiburan Republic of Zareptta, where to this day Conradin is a celebrated hero titled Conradin the Conqueror of Godless Slaves.

Red Heart (Drama)

FEATURE DIRECTOR
Andre Louampi

FEATURE CAST
Collette Antier, Lillie Prinois, Pierre Grinot

FEATURE DESCRIPTION:
] Set in 1907, Marie is a prostitute, dying of disease at age 45. She reflects on her life starting with her childhood in which she was abandoned and the struggle to be one of Changy's most expensive courtesans. Her affairs ranged from diplomats, generals, captains of industry, to royalty. Based on the 1889 scandal of the Ducal Household, Red Heart tells Marie's story through the lens of an unrepentant courtesan who despite the hardships; knows and enjoyed life better than anyone. The film switches between the present and past but does so gracefully. The film ends with Marie's death- raw and uncompromising. The film was initially banned for the death scene in Bourgogne but after review, this film has been approved for release.

FEATURE TITLE
Christ's Temptation

FEATURE DIRECTOR
Timotheos Kleanthidis

FEATURE CAST
Athina Sireotissa, Eleni Loukiani, Plithon Eitheilyios, Paschalis Tambakis, Ambrosios Politis, Ioannis Mavros

FEATURE DESCRIPTION
Highly controversial and restricted in its country of origin, Christ's Temptation (Ὁ Πειρασμὸς τοῦ Χριστοῦ) is a novel by the famous Pelasgian left wing novelist, theatrical writer, poet and philosopher Nikodimos Kantadakis, currently residing in Bourgogne. This movie, by the same name, is an adaptation of the book for cinema audiences. Christ's Temptation follows the hypothetical love and affair between Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene, from its beginning when Christ first met her, to the end when she is among those who witness Christ's crucifixion. Christ first meets Mary Magdalene as in traditional religious texts, forgiving the prostitute's sins. Unlike Christian tradition however, Jesus grows comes to love her more and more, meeting with her privately, with their love for one another becoming increasingly apparent. As the time for his death grows near, Christ starts to question whether he truly should die or whether he could live on the Earth, alongside the woman who has earned his heart. He even tries to leave, to escape into the desert, not being able to be torn between his lov and God's plan for him. In the end, he stumbles upon a wounded, lone Jewish zealot in the desert. After talking to the zealot, who is about to die after fighting for what he believes in, he is convinced to return to Jerusalem, though he openly states that he deslikes God's plan. In the movie's most powerful scene, he proclaims that if he was merely put on the Earth so as to be a pawn and he cannot even have the right to love, he might as well die. The movie examines motives such as love, individual strength and will over collective power and goals, authority and choices, religion and sexuality, social norms on relationships, people's internal motivations and women's place in a society. Considered by many as an allegory for the current Propontine nationalist regime's authoritarism, which, according to Kardakis, comes in contrast with the very Christian values it claims to be promoting, the film has drawn severe criticism from Propontine authorities, with many calling for its ban.
